Anyone else out there with 5 plus stones to lose? Who fancies doing a weekly weigh in with me?

I have got really overweight in the last couple of years and would love to meet some others who might be trying to cut down but not exactly dieting. Where do you start when there is so much to lose? Any tips on evening snacking? TIA

RGPargy · 05/06/2008 18:54

PinkChick · 05/06/2008 20:01

Hi everyone, i like it here, its always so positive

Also had a lovely/fab day and very proud of myself...

Breakfast was ceral and ss milk, lunch was 2 crackers with v.low fat cott cheese(just fancied it but im thinking jacobs cream crackers are not good???), anyway they were too dry(sat in park having picnic lunch with children) and i felt quit full!, so i had just bought some fresh strawberries and thought id have a nibble..cut to me and mindee covered in red juice and empty punnet..he loved them too!
tea was home amde pizza with passsata and bit of grated cheese and loads of cherry toms with corn on cob!!..with NO BUTTER!....get me!

and thats it!..have been tempted today as been out all day and have been walking everywere(even power walking when just had baby in pushchair!), must ahve walked for umm...4 hours today here there and everywere...i feel great and hope this feeling lasts

Off for bath then BB9!...night girls

RGPargy · 05/06/2008 21:08

Food today has been:

Breakfast
2 slices WW toast, spread and lite marmalade

lunch
Asda couscous snack pot

dinner
Steak, jacket spud, salad and i'm just about to have a WW yoghurt.

Yummy!!

jaz236 · 05/06/2008 21:21

well ive made my own sauce tnite, whilst drinking a gin and tonic from a can!! tin of tomatoes, onions fried in low cal spray, loads of gralic and green pepper, parika and lots of black peper, cook adnthen blend - and now i have my very own sauce oh and chillies!! and its lovely - as im eating just veg and the tomato sauce will be drizzled on top of top!! oh ad a few strands of halluomi i cant stop eating it!

jaz236 · 05/06/2008 21:37

well judging by my spelling the drink has gone to my head!! how many points are green beans? and rgpargy hpw much is it to go online? with fatfighers?

are anyone of u guys on the WW postnatal program which is funded by the nhs - basic ally u pay 10.00 and then u have 12 free weeks at WW - if noone has heard of it go and speak to your health visitor - its well worth it as u pay 5.50 per session at WW but with the nhs you pay just 10.00 for 12 weeks. YOu also get to go to sessions where u cook food low fat food - my problem is that i can cook its just i like BIG PORTIONS!!

RGPargy · 05/06/2008 22:50

Jaz - lol @ G&T from a can!!

You'll be pleased to know that green beans are zero points!

i've never heard of the NHS postnatal thing. My GP mumbled something about a program when i went for my six week check but said i would have to stop breastfeeding first!!

I've got what's called a "monthly pass". What you do is pay up front (£17.95 a month) and that covers the cost of UNLIMITED meetings, plus the use of the online tracker, recipes, forums etc. It works out that you pay £4 odd for a meeting rather than £5.50 and also you dont have the hassle of making sure you've got the right money before you go to your meeting (mine's on a Monday morning so i've never got any cash lol). Well worth doing, I find.

PinkChick · 06/06/2008 09:30

Morning Everyone..that sauce sounds really nice!..delish with roasted veggies

Well have been a it naughty and have still been getting on my scales even though gp's told me to chck them out...BUT....according to them i have lost between 5 and 6lb!!..i REALLy didnt think i would lose anything just by cuttin down and doing a bit more/faster walking..but it has!..i know this being my first week you tend to lsoe quite a bit esp as im really big, but am so pleased

Hope everyone has a nice day today

jaz236 · 06/06/2008 09:35

well done pink chick thats such a great boost just for the weekend!

PinkChick · 06/06/2008 09:38

Thanks i know..it will prob/maybe the weekend i struggle as we usuall have about 2-3 take aways(maccy dees breakfast, delivery sat night then take dd to somewere on sunday)...going shopping tonight, going to buy chicken breast,, brast crumbs and make my own pamaseans slimming world way..but what about the cheese sacue? is there a lower fat alternative??..maybe natural yog with something???

RGPargy · 06/06/2008 10:19

Well done Pink! Weekends are hard aren't they. My trouble is curry and booze on a friday night and then the booze continues until Sunday lunchtime/evening! I then wonder why i've put on weight at my Monday morning WW meeting lol!

PinkChick · 06/06/2008 10:22

LOL, well drink isnt a prob for me..i dont drink only if we go out and then not a lot!..it was snacking really with children here through week..i think i may still have something at weeknd but the way im feeling it will be a couple of bites and ill be full!..think ill fill up on salad and then eat whatever i have..or like i say, may even just make own!, we;ve found recently anyway we're sick of take outs, so might rustle up something nice and quite healthy myself!

RGPargy · 06/06/2008 12:55

Cant beat home cooked food really! And think how much money you'll save yourself!

PinkChick · 06/06/2008 13:21

i know!...dp rang earlier and i told him what i was planning and he said ooh yeah sounds nice!!!...now if i told him it was S.W recipe he'd be all ooh no, not eating that rubbish, were in reality, doesnt matter were i got recipe from, the food is good and healthier so win win!

HAd a pasta bake this afty(low fat but ready meal)cos going shopping straight from work tonight and needed something 'filing' so i wont snack when i get in, and as was looking at it, i thought i could make this!..it was chicken and broccoli and is in a tomato and creamy sauce!..made something similar recently with pasta in sauce, chicken and plain pasta..but what can i add(apart from cream) to make it more creamy???natural yogurt????

RGPargy · 06/06/2008 15:24

yes, you can add natural yoghurt. I use natural yoghurt in my Friday Night Curry instead of cream. I'd much rather use the cream, mind you, but the yoghurt does a very good job!

jaz236 · 06/06/2008 19:03

yknow who has the most accurate curry me thinks is asda exactly like the ones in the restuarant! my hubbie is having prawn dopiaza with naan and chippy chips im soooooooooo jeoulas, meanwhile im on my 2nd G and T!!

PinkChick · 06/06/2008 20:29

bought the chicken etc to make my own chicken parmo's..but a bit late so im off to make some toasty's(no butter, only little bit of cheese, lots of salad!)

today - brekky cereal ss milk

lunch chicken and pasta with veggys in sauce(not good sauce!)

snack - banana

Dinner - toasties and salad

kille dme tonight after school as friday night is treat night and all mindees got either ice pop or choccy..i had to break up a freddo for mindee and the smell was shouting to me...but i didnt and im not even that botherd now!, it was just the smell!...have a good night all and ejoy your weekend

jaz236 · 07/06/2008 13:38

Whats mindee? and freddo?

RGPargy · 07/06/2008 14:25

I'm guessing PinkChick is a child minder so mindee (pronounced mynd-ee) would be the child she looks after?

A Freddo is an ice lolly i think, a bit like a Funny Feet, IIRC?

jaz236 · 07/06/2008 14:50

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm where does she live

jaz236 · 07/06/2008 18:15

havent had a funny feet in years didnt know they were still doing them id love one now!

PinkChick · 07/06/2008 18:32

Hi Chick, yes as RG said im a childminder, a mindee is a minded child i care for...and a freddo is a small choccy bar like a taz???.milk choc in shape of froggy dude..just like a small cadbury dairymilk

PinkChick · 07/06/2008 20:25

righty!..had fab day considering its the weekd....breakfast was cereal and ss milk again..

lunch (in family pub after soft play) was chicken, spinach in a tomato sauce with boiled rice..no chips, no burgers, no huge chicken escalopes coated and fried within in inch of its life like i would normally do! and NO DESERT

Snack banana

Dinner 2 small jacket spuds NO BUTTER, tomato pasta in sauce just made with water no milk or butter and sweetcordn, broccoli and carrots..could only manage 1 jacket spud (about half size of my palm of hand) and 1/4 of the pasta...really was stuffed...

Love these tablets and am feeling very good about myself..but i must stop getting weighed as its not going to be a 'result' for me

went to fancy gym today which turned out to be very swish but very normal...older people/bigger people/very fit thong leotard people as well..but really normal!...so were going back next sat afty to join for the 4 week trial, then if we find it good, we'll sign up for the 6 months!..dd can even come free(swimming only) so thats a bnus.

So hows everyone else been today???i bet its hard for some as its weekend and if anyones like my dp, likes a drink on weekend?...i prefer fizzy pop, so will have lemonaid later as am trying to stick to water through week.

Hope you all have good/lovely weekend

RGPargy · 07/06/2008 20:53

Oh of course Pink, i remember Freddos now. They have caramel in them dont they? Yummy!!

PinkChick · 07/06/2008 21:24
