Anyone else out there with 5 plus stones to lose? Who fancies doing a weekly weigh in with me?

I have got really overweight in the last couple of years and would love to meet some others who might be trying to cut down but not exactly dieting. Where do you start when there is so much to lose? Any tips on evening snacking? TIA

sandramaryb · 27/05/2008 21:56

Just popping in to say hi and feeling really positive today. I am soooo excited cos my jeans feel a bit looser and I definitely look less pregnant (My fat has all gathered around my middle). I have had 5 good days and it has really improved my mood with myself, my kids and DH.

Tomorrow I'm up at 7 to nip down the swimming pool and I'm actually looking forward to it.

Ags, you must stay motivated this week if not just for you but selfishly for us lot too as I have to say you have been inspiring me loads.

toofattoflounce · 29/05/2008 00:48

hi, 'tis Ria. Not had a good week despite starting so well, have eaten loads of pineapple though, and SW free foods" just not to the letter. Going away tomorrow with DM&D so that should help as no opportuntities for unnecessary snacking.

Hope you are all ok, I haven't had time to catch up. I should be back on Tuesday. Good luck.

jaz236 · 29/05/2008 08:30

Well i had loads of veg yesterday and enjoyed it, apart from the odd crunchie but thats allowed - so onwards and upwards i say!!

Ags · 29/05/2008 14:01

Sandra, well done you! So nice when your clothes start to tell the tale of your success isn't it? Don't worry, I am even more motivated than ever this week. But weirdly, the scales are just not moving! I'm hoping for a big drop just before weigh in!

Jaz, sounds like you are being very good this week. Keep it up, you are doing well.

TFTF, have a great weekend away.

RGPargy · 29/05/2008 20:49

Well done on your losses everyone!! Isn't it inspiring!!

sandramaryb · 29/05/2008 22:30

Jaz, the only thing I did differently this week was not to pick between meals. There is a weight loss club going at my doctor's surgery and I get weighed by a nurse every week. She gave me a diet that is basically 1,500 cals.

It is

piece of toast and butter with a coffee for breakfast. (I alternate with cereals)

Yoghurt mid morning

A big plate of veggies, medium portion of potatoes/pasta/rice etc and a small portion of protein. Fruit. for lunch

A juice and 3 plain biscuits for afternoon snack

Dinner - same as lunch

Before bed, a yoghurt or piece of fruit

So I have been feeling really full up and it's just be a mental fight not to pick. I have been eating a couple of squares of chocolate every day, that isn't on the diet just to have a little something to satisfy my chocolate addiction.

There's no counting or thinking too much about it and that has helped too I think. Let's see how I do this week!

OP posts:
jaz236 · 30/05/2008 14:41

how big are your potatoes?

wow though well done you, are u excercising>

jaz236 · 30/05/2008 17:20

oh gawd our oven has broke

sandramaryb · 30/05/2008 17:27

Yes I've been going swimming every other day and that is helping my motivation. I go at an ungodly hour just as DD and DS are getting up and they are I just leave them watching cartoons while I nip out and it hasn't really upset any routines of getting them to school in time. My DH sorts out breakfast if I am a bit late.

I know I'm on a bit of a high and there will be a downward slip just around the corner. Hopefully I'll be ready for it.

Anyone else feeling any Friday evening weakness?

OP posts:
jaz236 · 31/05/2008 11:56

chocolatespiders · 31/05/2008 14:44
