Anyone else out there with 5 plus stones to lose? Who fancies doing a weekly weigh in with me?

I have got really overweight in the last couple of years and would love to meet some others who might be trying to cut down but not exactly dieting. Where do you start when there is so much to lose? Any tips on evening snacking? TIA

Brilliant tip Jaz!! I think the lemon/lime WW yogs would be lovely coz they'd possibly taste a bit like a sorbet!

ChipButty · 02/05/2008 11:26

Hi everyone! I'm a size 24 and 258lbs (18st 6lbs). This is my last ever 'diet'. I am doing porridge for breakfast, soup for lunch and a proper dinner with unlimited fruit and raw veggies throughout the day (and trying to drink plenty of water). My weigh in day is Monday. I want to weigh under 13 stone by my 40th birthday in February 2010. I have never weighed less than my DH and have put on 3 stone since we met 10 years ago!

Has anyone read Shauna Reid's 'The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl'? I found it very inspiring.

jaz236 · 02/05/2008 12:24

Welcome chip butty and hello choc!

Gone a bit over on my points today - 47 instead of 37. Oops!! that'll be the bloody alcohol and the cream i put in my home made curry!

Have a good weekend, all!

KelaH · 02/05/2008 20:48

Lol RGPargy - never mind, hope the curry was worth it!

jaz236 · 02/05/2008 21:55

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm curry and alcohol!! ENJOY!!

RGPargy · 02/05/2008 23:21

yeah it was lovely!! Oh and i dont mean i put alcohol and cream in the curry, i meant i was up the pub for the booze and the cream went in the curry lol.

ChipButty · 05/05/2008 08:39

Lost 4lb in my first week! Woohoo!
Hope you are all doing okay. xx

KelaH · 05/05/2008 08:53

Well done, that's brilliant!!

RGPargy · 05/05/2008 12:41

Well done ChipButty!! that's great!!

Had my weigh in today and i've GAINED 2.5lbs!!

I know exactly how that's happened tho. I've had a bit of a boozy week and then on Friday i made a curry with cream (next time i'll use natural yoghurt) and on Saturday we went to the pub and got a bit tipsy and ended up with a chinese takeaway. Oops!!

I spoke to my WW leader today about phasing out breast feeding and cutting down on points. She said that i shouldn't cut down on my points at all because i still need the calories when breast feeding, even if it's just 2 or 3 feeds a day! Woooohoooo!! Hey ho, cant say i didn't try! I'm secrety pleased tho, can you tell?!

jaz236 · 05/05/2008 17:28

OH MY GAWD Ive discovered weight watchers victoria sponge cakes, they are absolutely gorgeous, so suffice to say I ate all 5 of them throughout the day. Now its playing on my mind tht there is one left in the box. Cant leave it on its own.
106 caloroes per cake.

And its the big weigh in tomorrow. - hohum!

RGPargy · 05/05/2008 17:33

Jaz - I'm surprised you even left one in the box when you ate the other five!! What's done is done if that were me, i'd have the last one with a lovely cup of tea!

jaz236 · 05/05/2008 18:44

Ive just eaten it and it was gorgeous. I dont understand even my hubbie doesnt, i never used to be a sweets person now I cant get enough.

Out of all the WW sweet cakes, Id defo recomend the victoria sponge, and the toffee cake and lemon and carrot cake. OH and the belgian chocolate one

My only complaint would be that they are too small!

This is all for research!

Obvioulsy tomorrow I will be walking with the buggy everywhere again just to be weighed!

sandramaryb · 05/05/2008 19:33

Hi everyone, just weighed in and didn't lose anything. Not really surprised as I didn't have a good week. Well that's all behind me now and I went for a swim today and it was great. My legs were a bit wobbly when I got out of the pool but I was really concentrating on keeping my tummy in so I could make a graceful exit!

just been catching up, you lot are doing fantastic! Well done!! Well i was up for just healthy eating at home as it were but have now realised i will never lose weight if i don't go on a diet. Please could someone tell me what weight watchers points i am allowed if i weight... 20 st 4lbs! many thanks

RGPargy · 06/05/2008 13:41

Angelcake - Here are the points guidelines for you to work out your points:

Female - 3 points

Breastfeeding? No = 0 points, exclusively = 10 points, breastfeeding and weaning = 5 points

Age - 16-20 = 5, 21-35 = 4, 36-50 = 3, 51-65 = 2, over 65 = 1

Weight - You are allowed one point for every stone of weight (dont include the pounds). So, as you weigh 20 stone, you are allowed 20 points.

Height - Under 5'4" = 1, over 5'4" = 2.

Day to day life - Sitting down most of the time = 0, ocassionally sitting down but mostly standing = 2, walking most of the time = 4, Doing physically hard work most of the time = 6.

So, working out from the above, i would say you are allowed 28 points. I have gone on the assumption that you are aged 21-35, are not breastfeeding and are sitting down most of the time and also are over 5'4" tall. Obviously adjust the points if i have got any of the info wrong.

jaz236 · 06/05/2008 19:34
