Team RH - has anyone actually been visited by a debt collector

RowansMammy · 28/05/2024 18:21

Has anyone used Team RH and had a bad experience or had debt collectors at the door? I used the app for 1 day. Total scam and mis sold. Only after waiving your right to the 14 day cooling off period, creating a direct debit, does it tell you to download my fitness pal which is free and clunky. It did all the work.

I used team RH for 1 day and tried to cancel to be told no. There is no way I'm paying for a 12 month contract for a service I used for one day. I don't follow the plan, I don't take any notice of the goals I've been set. I'd rather be fat to be honest.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has actually had debt collectors come to the door or is it just the bully emails and calls? has anyone experienced anything?

Which app is this please?

If only there was a clue in the question 😂😂😂

They claim they can ask you to waive your right because it’s digital content, so they compare it to if you purchase a film from Amazon, you don’t get a 14 day cooling off period. They are very sneaky. The terms also say you waive your right once the service is fully performed whatever that means.

It's not comparable. If you paid for access to a film for 1 year and cancelled in your cooling off period they could only charge you for the days you had access, not the entire year.

exactly why the product is a scam. It’s all threats and scaremongering. they the type of company to bad mouth people on social media and create a hate campaign against someone.

I just hope people don’t sign up to it, far better weight loss apps and groups out there.

he says it’s a legally binding contract, but the contract is misleading and full of contradictions.

bedtime reading for anyone interested

It’s in the title. Team RH.

jemimafuddleduck · 14/06/2024 10:20

I almost signed up to this last week and messaged them about the lack of cooling off period. They spouted some rubbish about digital content not applying:

'No it’s digital product, where you get everything upfront. If people could cancel they’d get away with the whole service for nothing.

What we’re doing is saying, hey this is £100+ but were kindly allowing you to pay in instalment’s, on the basis you promise to pay us in full.

A fair deal I thought when Richie himself onboarded me 💛'

I decided against it because no way am I getting signed up to something for 12 months with no option to cancel!

He’s a thick, misogynistic arsehole. Rather than threaten people with debt collectors, he should probably do some research into why so many people are wanting to cancel and work on that.

He has 70,000 members. Technically I’m a member. So I’d like to know stats on membership

how many of the 70k are paying for a service they are stuck with cause they feel stuck in a contract? And how many of these members have actually cancelled the direct debit before the 12 months is up? and how many of these members are life long members.

anyone know a journalist would would investigate the company?

It cannot affect your credit rating, as you don't enter into a credit agreement with them. The only way would be if they took you to court and they won and didn't pay however see below.

To my knowledge they have never took anyone to court for not paying it, it would cost them money to, also them requiring you to waive the 14 days enters very dodgy legal ground and would fall apart if challenged in court.

What I think of the misogynistic guy who runs it is another matter.

Lisahelene45 · 13/06/2024 21:41

I agree i signed up to this app, its utter rubbish, my fitness pal is shocking you dont get anything for your money. I emailed after 2 hours to ask if i could cancel but was told No.
I honestly would not reccomend to anyone its shocking.

There is nothing wrong with my fitnesspal it is free and does what it says on the tin, however the team rh requiring you to download another app is very unprofessional.

I used to say the same, but I tried to use it after a few years’ break a couple of months back and was shocked at how unusable it has become, now they’re obviously trying to push you into the paid version.

UsernameRedacted · 14/06/2024 14:01

I would repost this in the legal section

GOTBrienne · 14/06/2024 14:05

I wish I could remember where I saw it but someone had written a reply to them, which shut them up, others had used it too.
too late for me, paid the twat for a full year.

scatterby · 14/06/2024 16:38

I’ve cancelled my DD so am expecting some verbal soon. My husband spoke to the bank at length and they also said there’s no credit agreement

I didn’t like my fitness pal. I prefer nutracheck. I thought team rh would be better. Silly me.

Whether people prefer one or other calorie counting app is irrelevant, team rh are unprofessional for requiring you to use one.

You thought team rh would be better have you seen his Facebook posts, he belittles people , is misogynistic, clueless about nutrition, and many more things. He sells his plan by saying slimming world and weight watchers are shit, that's just poor selling. You promote your product not belittle others.

countvoncount · 14/06/2024 17:51

Richie is a bullying fool, must have the worlds smallest penis.
He's no life coach, he's a prick.
I cancelled the direct debit, didn't give it another thought.
Preys on insecure females, I cringe when I hear his voice, parody of a man.

Carock · 14/06/2024 17:59

RowansMammy · 14/06/2024 06:58

I’d love watchdog to investigate them. I think anyone who has had a bad experience should email watchdog. There are too many people who’ve had an awful experience. I really don’t understand how they get good reviews.

check out their trust pilot, they claim they are under cyber attack from a rival weight loss company. And a 4.5 rating with a solid 8% one star reviews

The “cyber attack” was when he was outed by previous staff with WhatsApp screenshots and reviews on Glassdoor. Many then left reviews so his goal was to make those reviews look like a “cyber attack”

He makes up reviews on there too

the people who fawn over him saying “oh he tells it to people straight, he’s so honest” 🤢
just remember he doesn’t use men as “fat” examples

he lives off bloody Rice Krispies and whilst did a nutritional certification, it has lapsed and he hasn’t done anything to update it

hes told female staff not to get into relationships or get pregnant because he didn’t want to get into paying for mat leave

he has a ton of burner accounts on Facebook, joins weight loss groups and is always ready to launch in at the mere mention of his shit cult

But there’s a never ending bunch of live laugh love followers applauding his misogynistic crap and his calorie counting that’s no different from the 1960s

Carock · 14/06/2024 18:01

the letters that do get sent (not many because he can’t be arsed) are often made up by him

Oh your credit wont and can’t be affected either!

just block the idiot ;)

Justbrowsing2024 · 14/06/2024 18:09

I have been saying for YEARS that team RH is a crock of shite and noone would listen! They are now grrrrr. People I know just cancelled the direct debit and nothing happened though. I fell for it many years ago, at the time there was a dodgy way to get myfitnesspal premium version for free to log macros. The bloke is so rude, an absolute tool. Would be good if someone would investigate them
