Team RH - has anyone actually been visited by a debt collector

RowansMammy · 28/05/2024 18:21

Has anyone used Team RH and had a bad experience or had debt collectors at the door? I used the app for 1 day. Total scam and mis sold. Only after waiving your right to the 14 day cooling off period, creating a direct debit, does it tell you to download my fitness pal which is free and clunky. It did all the work.

I used team RH for 1 day and tried to cancel to be told no. There is no way I'm paying for a 12 month contract for a service I used for one day. I don't follow the plan, I don't take any notice of the goals I've been set. I'd rather be fat to be honest.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has actually had debt collectors come to the door or is it just the bully emails and calls? has anyone experienced anything?

Hi! Has there been any more update on this? Sadly I fell victim to it last week, then that afternoon had a call from gp with some ultrasound results, had a cancer scare with a mass on my kidney which is still not known, just awaiting CT results. So after using the app for a single morning asked to cancel citing change of circumstance said I was very stressed and couldn’t focus on that right now, even sent a screenshot of my ‘suspected cancer’ referral form from my NHS app and was told no I can’t cancel. So cancelled the direct debit and we’ll see!

@raspberryjoe Hope you are OK, sending you ❤️
Re Team Rh, i haven't heard anything so please don't worry.
He seems to be bothered more around praying on pple who.are using GLp1... please don't give it another thought and just concentrate on you x

Freyagillian · 26/05/2025 19:53

Ignore any emails you may get as it never goes any further. Heartless swine. I hope everything turns out positive for you ❤️X

raspberryjoe · 26/05/2025 19:56

Thank you both ♥️♥️

If you read before you sign up to a contract you would have know as soon as you look as you login that’s your agreement started. You might not use it but imagine how many would do that! Terms and conditions are boring but unless you are prepared to lose money if you’re not happy then don’t do it. Not a scam at all and if you stuck with it you might have surprised yourself.

30Michelle · 26/05/2025 22:38

They have a whole plan for people who are not using it. Given what two of my friends eat on the jabs it seems there’s a need. Eating less they need the proper nutrition. Many of those on the jab think it’s a magic cure and have not considered what will happen after. Not managed properly, they need the help and they have already been prayed upon as you put it.

RowansMammy · 27/05/2025 06:33

Can you share your positive experience? How much weight have you lost? How has the support from team RH been?

in this entire thread nobody has praised them. It maybe boring but you might want to read it all.

looking forward to reading your positive review.

zero compassion in your post too.

@30Michelle I agree there's a need for people to get support, be educated and platforms that do this are needed, however on Team RH, T&C may state you are entering into a contract.. The contract says you will get a fully functioning plan. You will have support and be part of a supportive community. This is not what you get, you get a poor app where you need to link to external.calorie apps, a poor excercise plan and when you email to ask if you can link to a different calorie counter, which is easier to use, a email of abuse and then shamed on instagram.
Im sure there maybe people out there who may find Team Rh approach helpful however this is not the experience I had or clearly other people have had. It's important people have the information poor to getting trapped into a contract. I have to question why he is now focusing on people on GLP1.

Are you using the Team RH plan by any chance?!
I read the term and conditions, but when it came to using the plan, it was too complicated and I didn’t like the app. I use MyNetDiary and calorie count.
He hasn’t portrayed himself very well on social media, and the threatening emails were delightful!
This probably isn’t the best thread for a Team RH supporter, good luck!

And just like that one of his supporters arrives.

As a clinician Hell would freeze over before I recommended this man and his godawful app to anyone.

He is abusive (under the guise of plain talking) and doesn’t think twice about sharing your photos on his page if you raise complaints ….his followers will then laugh at you.

He has no understanding at all of obesity or any conditions associated with it.

Apparently if you’re overweight and develop T2 diabetes it’s your fault according to Richie.

As a clinician I can tell you this is bollocks. If you are fat or thin you can develop T2 diabetes. Thid is only IF your body is genetically predisposed to do so AND you store your fat in your liver and pancreas. Guess what, even very thin people can do this? It’s down to genetics. So yes if you’re fat and you have the right genetics you may develop it. If you are fat and you don’t have the genetics and your fat is stored under your skin you won’t.

Richie has never wanted to hear that though, it means less of a stick to beat folks with,

Honest to god pay for Nutricheck instead and get yourself a sports watch which tracks your steps.

RowansMammy · 28/05/2025 19:48

Let the supporters come, the thread will just get bigger.

It’s really embarrassing to see women come on here admitting they support and hand over their money to a misogynist

larc257 · 22/06/2025 21:53

Ha! Just today I got the threatening email with the video of that patronising misogynist flippantly explaining how he’s conned users out of the 14 day cooling off. Totally embarrassed for him that his business model is basically strong-arming people into maintaining a subscription. Lock them in when they haven’t realised how shit it is, right Richie?

I’m actually two months beyond said cooling off period, but haven’t used that god awful (could it be less user friendly!) app since the day I downloaded it and only the other day realised I was still paying for it, so I cancelled the DD. Just like literally any other SUBSCRIPTION (which this is!) when it no longer serves.

The actual brass neck of this aggy loser is astonishing. The app is rubbish, it’s not worth £83 and it’s certainly not worth £250. Terribly functionality, copy-cat ideas and awful content.

I was going to respond to the email to let him know that if he pursues a single thing I’ll share all the awful things I know many of the staff have experienced working there (I have a very reputable source who unfortunately also eventually experienced Richie’s problematic behaviour for themselves!) with the journalists I work with.

Instead I just deleted and blocked the sender as spam. I’ll keep that threat in my back pocket should they choose to pursue “debt recovery”, but given I never entered into a credit agreement, it’s a non-starter.

Hope you’re reading this, Richie, you absolute f**king MELT 👋👋👋

For some reason this thread came up in my newsfeed again but it led me to discovering this ASA ruling: https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/team-rh-fitness-ltd-g23-1217041-team-rh-fitness-ltd.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com

RowansMammy · 13/06/2024 07:00

I’ve been reading into it on tattle. I’m not concerned about it. From what I’ve seen, he sends a few nasty emails and videos of him claiming the service is £250 but he’s discounted it to £80 odd. He says he’s stuck to his side of the bargain now you must pay. I only used it for one day so I’m not forking out money based on his sneaky terms. I just think they’ll intimidate and make threats. Team RH have a retentions team, so I think that’s the debt recovery, cause it’s unlikely they’d outsource as it’ll cost more than the contract.

I know this is quite an old post now but, I am receiving the threatening emails now. Did anything ever come of this for you?

raspberryjoe · 10/08/2025 11:40

I received an email this morning and just blocked them as per advice from others!

RowansMammy · 10/08/2025 14:16

No nothing @Namethaticreated

This is good to know about. He is as dodgy as hell and clearly this is why he cannot go after people.

Andrea239 · 15/09/2025 18:52

Hope this link works for people - end of August 2025. Totally misleading. IGNORE all threats

https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/team-rh-fitness-ltd.html

Also ask ChatGPT if you need further reassurance. NO record of them taking it further with anyone because they know they don’t have a leg to stand on. I hope he’s reading this too 👌🏻

Well isn’t that just a lovely read!! Thank you so much for sharing

QuirkyFinch · 15/09/2025 23:31

The ASA has now ruled twice that Team RH’s “£7.99 per month” adverts were misleading because they did not make the 12-month contract clear. The latest ruling was in August 2025. You can see it here: https://www.asa.org.uk/rulings/team-rh-fitness-ltd.html

If you’ve been caught out, you should call Citizens Advice Consumer Line and ask them to pass your case to Trading Standards. The more people who report their experience, the more seriously it’s taken.

If genuine it helps to explain things like:

  • That you didn’t realise it was a 12-month contract until too late
  • What happened when you tried to cancel
  • If you’ve had worrying or pressuring emails

The fact that the ASA has ruled against them twice shows they don’t care and are still relying on the same tactics. If enough people share their experiences, Trading Standards could potentially take enforcement action. That could mean contracts being cancelled or even refunds ordered.

Also ensure you rate and review on trust pilot

I have recently fallen fowl of this 12-month subscription that I missed entirely as it was not made clear. I am now being threatened with legal action, has anyone else had this recently? Currently, I have blocked emails and calls from them but I am wondering whether I just settle the full amount or do I wait it out and assume he wouldnt bother sending debt collection which arguably would cost him more? Have him take me to court and then show him that he cant bully people and he needs to make his annual subscription clearer?

socks1107 · 11/11/2025 20:14

It’s been 18months since I cancelled after a week and I’ve not heard for 17 of them. Block him and forget about it

raspberryjoe · 11/11/2025 20:33

No I blocked and haven't heard since, that was months ago. They’ve never followed through with collection, just ignore!
