Team RH - has anyone actually been visited by a debt collector

RowansMammy · 28/05/2024 18:21

Has anyone used Team RH and had a bad experience or had debt collectors at the door? I used the app for 1 day. Total scam and mis sold. Only after waiving your right to the 14 day cooling off period, creating a direct debit, does it tell you to download my fitness pal which is free and clunky. It did all the work.

I used team RH for 1 day and tried to cancel to be told no. There is no way I'm paying for a 12 month contract for a service I used for one day. I don't follow the plan, I don't take any notice of the goals I've been set. I'd rather be fat to be honest.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has actually had debt collectors come to the door or is it just the bully emails and calls? has anyone experienced anything?

Thanks, I have no clue, I’m just waiting for the emails to stop, the one before was sent two weeks ago and threatened legal action, now this says another 7 days, so they don’t correlate

Just block him.

Fuckwits - as @Tattletwat says, it doesn't apply to consumer debts and also it's the wrong legislation citation. Not saying what the correct one is as don't want to give them any pointers (although even if they did give the correct citation it still wouldn't apply because it's not B2B)

sal237 · 23/07/2024 10:15

So glad I found this thread. Have also deleted my DD and had a few messages which I’ll be honest I was worried about 🫣 was just about to settle the debt last night when I thought, I’ll have a quick google search so see if anyone else in same position.

this thread has given me a few laughs and the courage to ignore the emails and threats….so thank you!!

RowansMammy · 10/08/2024 20:44

Just been reading some of the negative reviews on TrustPilot. The responses are atrocious! So belittling! And people are still paying the monthly fees out of fear.

I paid one month then cancelled. I’ve had no emails, letters or anything and it’s been a few months since I cancelled the direct debit now.

l’ve heard nothing at all either - yes, very unprofessional replies :(

Tattletwat · 10/08/2024 22:23

Yep they are very unprofessional and as for the positive reviews, a number of them are very similarly written so I'm not convinced.

Towlawrian · 18/08/2024 04:47

So I've just had my first threatening email. As I actually cancelled the direct debit by mistake, I owe them £23.97. Would they really persue me over that ? Surley it would cost them way more?

No, they won’t. My last threatening email said I have 7 days, that was four weeks ago, I haven’t heard anything since then. I think I had three emails altogether.

Towlawrian · 18/08/2024 08:26

"We must also make you aware that non-payment or missed payments could result in your credit score being affected."

I can't remember signing a credit agreement can anyone else ?

socks1107 · 18/08/2024 08:31

I haven't heard from them in around a month either. I don't even read the emails just delete

Towlawrian · 18/08/2024 09:28

So just going through there terms. Have they changed the terms is there anyway to see if they have. Current terms are

Effective as of 24th March 2024

It's say you can cancel the contract if you don't agree to the term changes.

Only way it could affect your credit score is if he took you to court and won and then you didn't pay after that. You don't enter into a credit agreement with them.

I do recommend people read through the whole thread as this will answer a number of quirys people have.

RowansMammy · 18/08/2024 12:52

I think this thread has proven that you can cancel your direct debit and not pay for a service you don’t use without the fear of anything bad happening.

if anyone who is with team rh sees this but is scared to cancel, just do it and ignore any threats cause that’s all they are threats.

I cancelled my direct debit months ago and I’ve not had one email from the in house retentions team.

have a look on their LinkedIn page at jobs, clearly making some serious money given the salaries on offer. Making money on the back of a scam and scaring people into paying for something they don’t want. People working there must have the morals of an alley cat

All I can see in the username @SteiniPe is the word penis? Is it an anagram of something

Fuck me. That's a pathetic response. 🤦‍♀️

The videos of his sense of humour (yes maybe not to everyone taste, but hey as people say any publicity is good publicity) have been seen on Facebook and am sure were seen by everyone before they decided to sign up.

Scam... no. Maybe just people who are raging because they've signed up to something ( as well as slimming world, WW, etc etc) and haven't stuck to this either. It does work after seeing a few people I know do it and succeed.
Is it for everyone? No but doesn't mean you need to slag it off because you either don't like the method or you haven't stuck to it.

And before anyone pathetic says it no I'm not Ritchie or associated with the company.

Am I someone who signed up and followed it, lost a bit of weight but have fallen off track and still paying for the app...yes

Would I of deleted it and cancelled if I could of...probably.

Do I think it's a strategy as everyone knows people wanting to lose weight will sometimes try anything that looks and sounds appealing (paying 3/6 months of WW to get a discount and think "if I've paid it I'll stick to it this time" but still dont) absofuckinglutely. If they didn't have the no cooling off period they'd probably not make as much money having to refund people.

Awaiting the slagging off and name calling... something that plenty of people on this thread called him pathetic and scum for doing.

I think we’re just genuinely not sure what your point is 😊

Towlawrian · 22/08/2024 06:20

Likes talk about scam baby. 😆

Tailored plan for you. In fact he says quite regularly that "he" sets your macros. He dosnt he uses a free algorithm that can be found anywhere on the Internet.

Food tracker. Used to be my fitness pal which was free, now he uses a rubbish app called bite me.

Huge recipe bank. Not really huge but copied recipes from the Internet.

Personal coach 😆 this is the best one. Coach's will only help if you have over two weeks of more complete tracking data. So if you're struggling at the start you're screwed. Also that's false advertising in my opinion.

Theres Nothing he provides that you can't get for free on the Internet.

Do you really think any publicity is good publicity? Because thanks to all this free publicity people now know that his terms and conditions are unenforceable and they aren't tied in for a year, everyone except you from the look of it. Publicity that loses you money is not good.

It is a scam. He's had ads banned for being misleading. He wouldn't have to mislead people if the app were any good. When more money is made from people who want leave than stay, you have to start accepting that your product is no good!

Edited

And he gets round the ‘two weeks of complete tracking data’ thing by telling you that you’re obviously a liar and/or stupid so your tracking is wrong, and he won’t help you until you’re ‘honest’ with yourself.

Youdontevengohere · 22/08/2024 09:49

And ‘nasty, misogynist prick’ isn’t a ‘sense of humour’, it’s a character flaw.

Justharry · 22/09/2024 05:40

So I cancelled my Team RH membership as I have never used it and have been paying it for months. I just can’t get the hang of it and Richie gives me anxiety so I don’t follow him on Facebook or watch his videos anymore. I must be dumb because I didn’t even realise I was signing up to a 12 month contract. I just can’t afford it atm and I don’t use it. I do not want it to negatively affect my credit rating.

sillylittlerabbit · 22/09/2024 06:44

I've just had a look at the group's FB page and these are some of the 'tamer' posts on there.

It's astonishing how many people are choosing to engage with this. The tone of his videos and his fat-shaming is vile.

WithAliceAforethought · 22/09/2024 07:26

@Justharry read the thread and think about it - it categorically CANNOT have any bearing on your credit rating. Not one iota.

Towlawrian · 22/09/2024 07:27

Another threatening email. I literally owe less than £20. Should I just pay it?

Also theb email was received this morning at 1am yet its dated the 17th?

I’ve not received any contact/emails since my last threatening email in July.

That’s awful, how is he allowed to get away with this!
