Team RH - has anyone actually been visited by a debt collector

RowansMammy · 28/05/2024 18:21

Has anyone used Team RH and had a bad experience or had debt collectors at the door? I used the app for 1 day. Total scam and mis sold. Only after waiving your right to the 14 day cooling off period, creating a direct debit, does it tell you to download my fitness pal which is free and clunky. It did all the work.

I used team RH for 1 day and tried to cancel to be told no. There is no way I'm paying for a 12 month contract for a service I used for one day. I don't follow the plan, I don't take any notice of the goals I've been set. I'd rather be fat to be honest.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has actually had debt collectors come to the door or is it just the bully emails and calls? has anyone experienced anything?

@WithAliceAforethought
hi thanx. I will ignore the threats then. I just don’t use it. I am normally more careful about getting in to contracts. I only cancelled it yesterday and woke up this morning to threatening emails!!

RowansMammy · 22/09/2024 09:22

Just cancel your direct debit and ignore emails. It’s not a credit agreement. I’ve not had any emails or threats from them, but others have.

1 am on Sunday morning is a strange time to send an email

Frencho24 · 22/09/2024 10:45

I’ve just had an email too at 1am claiming I owe 15 pound and tied into contract for 12 months. Upon signing up I didn’t realise I was tied into a contract nor do I recall signing one. Has anyone had debt collectors or credit score affected by this?

WithAliceAforethought · 22/09/2024 12:46

@Towlawrian don't you dare pay him another penny!! He's a robbing shyster with the morals of an alley cat - although that's been mean to alley cats tbh

Ignore this absolute fucking leech. Honestly I hope more people see this thread and realise they don't need to be bullied by him in this way

WithAliceAforethought · 22/09/2024 12:47

@Frencho24 again, read this thread and don't panic. Hold your nerve, delete and block his emails and forget about it

Towlawrian · 22/09/2024 13:11

After a bit of research it would cost him roughly £200+ to appoint a dedt recovery company. He prices his service at £150?? Also I very much doubt a company would take on the dedt that's way less than the fuel it would cost to visit someone.

HausofHolbein · 22/09/2024 15:13

It's clear from the Tattle threads that whilst he threatens people, nothing ever comes of it.

RowansMammy · 22/09/2024 18:54

Just a bunch of bullies. Some of the positive reviews on trustpilot say they’ve received refunds. 🤔

this company is literally a JOKE!! I cancelled due to being made redundant and i emailed them to explain this after the threatening emails. THEY ASKED ME TO PROVIDE PROOF OF MY REDUNDANCY 🤣🤣 blocked instantly

I called sky to cancel my grandparents plan cause they in a home with dementia. They cancelled straight away, I didn’t have to prove anything. Team RH are a bunch of crooks

I first joined team rh years and years ago (2017/18). I did learn a lot that I didn't know before, but that was likely due to my own lack of education rather than him spilling secrets. In the end, he completely ruined my confidence for years. I thought oh well, I'm clearly lazy and deserve this since I cant do more than 5000 steps etc. I never lost with him as the mental effect he had on me was so demoralising. I started with a holistic health coach who focuses on women, someone who does understand that hormones and where you are in your life your cycle, and of course your mental relationship (which he doesn't address ever), plays a huge roll. I'm a stone down working with her and have changed the way I look at everything. When I have a bad day, I don't beat myself up anymore and it helps me move on to the next day. Whereas team rh just put a load of guilt onto you instead.
I'd never recommend them to anyone.

Thank you for all of you who have commented on this post. It gave me the confidence to cancel my direct debit after a stream of back and forth emails with the team where I tried to be reasonable. I feel sorry for the staff having to send all of the emails - it looks like an incredibly toxic work environment.

I marked all emails from Team RH as junk and haven't read a single email since. I've seen some emails in there but haven't opened them and never will - they deserve no more of my time or energy! Nothing further has happened and this was in August that I cancelled.

Have a look at the company on Glassdoor if you haven't already!

Oh I got hit by this twat too! I just cancelled my direct debit, got a threatening email and haven’t heard anything since.

Thank you. I’m going to do the same - I’ve paid 8months. I emailed asking not to be auto renewed but they said email again nearer the time - you should be able to give notice at any time!

Carpenter23 · 16/11/2024 11:58

Former CX employee here, I can confirm their number 1 goal is not to help you but to bleed you dry.
How to cancel your contract without threats of debt collection?

Well, very easily actually:

They do NOT go through debt collection however if you just tell them that you or someone in your family has cancer or died, they'll let you go without requesting any proof.

You're welcome!

Hi, thank you, not heard anymore for over a week from them but not breathing easy just yet. He is an absolute bully. Always felt so uncomfortable watching his videos, best feeling ever was cancelling with him!

Tbh that’s what I don’t like. I hate the way he speaks about people and their weight. He thinks he’s gods gift. I used to quite like him (hence signing up) but he’s got really egotistical and arrogant and really ramped it up. Hes crossed a line now and just sounds like a knob head.

SunQueen24 · 17/11/2024 09:46

I keep getting reminders to track in the app but all it does is collate data that my other apps collect, so MFP does calories and macros, my garmin watch does steps. I know my goals and can see them on those apps. I don’t need to then go to team RH. It’s just piggy backing off other apps.

I've not heard from for over 3 months. I received a few reminder/threatening emails. But I just selected unsubscribe and I've heard nothing since.

Also remember that you didn't sign a credit agreement so the only way it will effect your credit score is if they took you to court and the court orderd you to pay. If you the don't pat the court. Then your rating will be affected.

He's always been a horrible arrogant prat who hates women.

You had a lot more tolerance for him to piss you off that's all.

People say it's a not bullshit approach, nope he's a nasty bully.

I signed up to TeamRH in October, not realising it was a year long contract, I don't remember reading anything that obviously pointed out it was a contract either? Anyway not even an hour later I read the Ts&Cs and realised, immediately emailed them asking to cancel, got the reply I expected stating I waived my right to the cooling off period, emailed them back stating that it didn't seem right given we can cancel other online subscriptions without any hassle, told them they could keep my first payment I didn't care I just don't want to be tied in for a year, again got told I couldn't cancel.

I didn't reply to that email and I've heard nothing since, a few days ago I got the notification that I'd set up the direct debit and immediately cancelled, I've still heard nothing since and I expected an email from them after I cancelled it, my payment is due on 2nd December, I'm really worried I'm going to be inundated with emails which from reading through this thread I'm now expecting, I'm not sure if I will be able to hold out and not pay. I thought I might have slipped through their radar not hearing from them for so long. It seems even if you stick with the yearly payments they make it tricky to cancel after the year :(

I received 2 emails in all. I then unsubscribed to the emails. I've heard nothing since. As many have said you didn't enter into a credit agreement so for it to effect your credit rating they will have to take you to court. Then if you don't pay the court will issue a ccj. It will cost them alot more to take you to court than you owe them. They could appoint bailiffs but I doubt any collection company would take on the dedt either.

DearMaker · 30/11/2024 15:58

You can do it! If you see the emails, just delete them or mark them as junk now so that you never see them!

The company is a disgrace! They are bullies and they are preying on these exact vulnerabilities and worries to make money. Please don't let them win and don't give them a penny more of your money. Check the company out on GlassDoor.co.uk and see what those working inside the company have to say about them - it's shocking!

We need to all report their behaviour to RIP off Britain!

WithAliceAforethought · 30/11/2024 16:03

@Svict86 just block him and that way you'll receive no emails whatsoever Grin

Block and put it out of your head. He is completely irrelevant and the sooner he appears on Watchdog or whatever the equivalent may be these days, the bloody better

His days are numbered and it's people paying out of fear that keep this whole shit show rumbling on
