Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

@Bubbleswithsqueak - keep going with it. I always find that being away plays havoc with my weight. Even with good choices a different eating and drinking pattern seems to lead to bloating.

@notzoe - I'd weigh in if I were you. Even if the scales don't say what you want to see it's just data and will confirm what you know. It might even motivate you to crack on this week.

@zebranotzeebra - so pleased your dress fitted. If you still have 2 months to go it might be an idea to focus on health and feeling really good rather than purely weight loss?

Have signed up for another 10k in July to keep me honest. I have a good level of fitness at the moment and it would be a shame to waste it.

SW 11 stone 4
GW 8 stone 12
CW 8 stone 11

Gensola · 20/05/2024 07:15

@HoneyMobster do you have a new goal now you are below your original goal weight? Well done! I can’t remember if you posted before saying how you achieved this?
I had my knee surgery last week and am hors de combat - on sofa, very swollen and bruised and feeling quite sick a lot of the time from the meds they gave (antibiotics to prevent post op infection plus pain meds).
Will never take my ability to move my body for granted again lol

HoneyMobster · 20/05/2024 08:12

@Gensola - my original GW was 9 stone and I then dropped it to 8 stone 12. I'm 5 ft 3 and 8 stone 12 is slap bang in the middle of the range.

I don't think I want to go lower than I am as my top half is an actually bit scrawny (shrunken boobs). I have plenty of padding on my bottom half though! I think my plan is to maintain under 9 and build fitness and tone up.

I've done Fast 800 and 16/8 plus lots of exercise, particularly running. I've really focussed on protein and am currently aiming for about 100g a day.

zebranotzeebra · 20/05/2024 08:28

@HoneyMobster yes absolutely, health is my priority, especially as we're hoping to start TTC no 2 after the wedding

Currently having the most awful PMS with really bad insomnia so going to be gentle with myself today and eat well but definitely no weighing in or worrying about the odd treat! As an aside, my PMS seems so much worse since my baby, never really had symptoms before and I'm not enjoying it at all

notzoe · 20/05/2024 14:45

Glad I am not the only ice cream monster around here then Grin

I took your advice @HoneyMobster and weighed. I’m glad I did because I’ve only gone from 11 stone 2.4 to 11 stone 3. I was expecting a lot worse than that. So hopefully that will be back off by tomorrow.

Any goals for this week anyway? I’m hopeful to get to 11 stone 1.something by Friday.

Hello.

Tentatively joining you here though I have dipped in and out a bit.

Having failed to become 'more marvellous' over and over... I'm still trying. I've referred myself through our local NHS and am joining an online Gloji group (no idea about the name) - had my intro call tonight and it starts next week. Consistency and belief are my problems.

I'm looking to lose 5% of my weight, 6kg, over the 12 weeks. I also start a new job at the beginning of July so hoping that I make a good effort by then as I know I start to feel the benefits very quickly, more energy, more movement, if I can stick with it for a week or two. Who knows how good I would feel if I could last 12 weeks?!

HoneyMobster · 20/05/2024 18:53

@notzoe - you're welcome. I'm increasingly of the mindset that a 'check in' weigh in makes sense. If you're (relatively) committed it's a minor blip to be tackled. Easier to deal with a few pounds quickly than end up back where you started.

As a teenager I had an ED. Not a very bad one but enough to give me years of food and weight anxiety. It's taken me about 30 years to get to a good place. Today. Was feeling a bit queasy before playing tennis and just picked up a chocolate protein bar as fuel. That's something I'd never have been able to do a couple of years ago.

Does that work out at about one pound per week? I think you’ll smash that!!

I totally agree with you. More than anything it’s just interesting to see how an ‘off day’ can affect your weight and then how quickly you can pull it back.

Sounds like you’ve made huge progress in your relationship with food. You should be so proud of yourself.

notzoe · 21/05/2024 09:04

11 stone 1.8 this morning so have recovered from the weekend thankfully. Just need to stay in the 11.1s till Friday and I’ll be happy.

Have a great day everyone!

Gensola · 21/05/2024 09:15

Weighed and have stayed the same 130/ 9 stone 4 despite not moving off the sofa for 7 days post surgery. Pleased with that. My goal is somewhere 110-116, once I’ve had my follow up procedure in a few weeks and recovered from that I’ll be making a new plan.

notzoe · 21/05/2024 09:22

Was it a new knee @Gensola? Best of luck with the healing up and I think that’s a huge achievement to have stayed the same after surgery. I dream of being in the 9s!!

Gensola · 21/05/2024 12:54

@notzoe I wish 😄 he just did some renovations to the old one. Recovery is worse than he made out, I walked for 15 mins today and my knee swelled hugely.

I just want to maintain now until I’m completely recovered, will be happy with that

Paintedhat · 22/05/2024 07:28

8 stone 13 today. Haven’t seen an 8 at the beginning since I was in my twenties (now 44!)

Gensola · 22/05/2024 07:40

@Paintedhat wow amazing! I can’t wait to be in the “8” bracket again!

HoneyMobster · 22/05/2024 07:43

@Paintedhat - amazing. Feels good doesn't it! This is also my first foray into the 8s since I got married and pregnant in quick succession!

@Gensola - wishing you a quick recovery.

notzoe · 22/05/2024 09:35

Oh poor you @Gensola. Hopefully it heals up soon and will one day be a distant memory!

Wondering what height you lot heading for the 8s are?

I weighed in at 11 stone 0.8 this morning so if we are ignoring oz (I am haha) I’ve hit my 7th June target early.

Total loss of around 5lbs now and just don’t see any difference. Hoping for another 6lbs off before my holiday and almost feels pointless because I still won’t look any different!

Gensola · 22/05/2024 09:54

@notzoe thanks 😊 I’m 5’2 - currently at BMI 23.7, 8 stone 4 would have me at BMI 21 which I would be much happier with.

notzoe · 22/05/2024 10:00

That’s a good idea to look and see what BMI you’d be at a particular weight. I’m currently 24.3 which is in the normal range I think but just!

I’m 5 foot 7 so a wee bit taller which is maybe why the 8s seem like they would never be possible! I don’t know if I’ll ever even see a 9 again haha.

Mum5net · 22/05/2024 10:12

Just catching up. Another wilderness week where at some points I have added over a kilo, but am now back at 61.5 kg. No change in a fortnight.. Maybe too prematurely I have bought some new top to go with existing linen and summer trousers I am just about managing to fit. Losing another 2-3 kg would definitely make them more wearable. My friend is staying with me for a week, so hopefully my step count will go up. @Paintedhat and @HoneyMobster well done. I really want to get there too, and I know 8.13 is possible as I did it two years ago, but it's pretty evasive right now, but I'm ever hopeful by July 1.
Sympathies to everyone else going round in circles right now and to those injured. Maintaining while injured, is a victory in my book, @Gensola

Gensola · 22/05/2024 10:24

@notzoe being short is brutal with the BMI - I’m apparently still healthy weight at something like 6 stone - crazy!

HoneyMobster · 22/05/2024 11:45

I'm 5 ft 3 and have a BMI of 21.5. I wouldn't want to be much smaller. I might look better when lighter with clothes on but in a swimming costume or more revealing clothes I'd look dreadful.

Gensola · 22/05/2024 12:08

@HoneyMobster yes I think I would be the same, I was very unwell in 2013 and dropped to 7 stone, I looked horrendous but my bmi was still 19!

Sparticle · 22/05/2024 13:07

Speedy recovery @Gensola!

I'm actually currently staying with my mum who had a knee replacement last week. So no fitness happening but she's been using MFP for 8 weeks to lose weight which she is loving (she had to get BMI below 40 for the op). She's done SW and WW in the past but has never got to target but she's doing brilliantly with CC. She gets those Oakhouse (?) meals and likes the mini meals so I'm so proud of her.

It also means that I've been using my nutracheck and there is no snacking, all healthy food and I've been tracking everything. So fingers crossed for a loss next week...

notzoe · 23/05/2024 13:13

6oz until I see a number 10 on the scales, not seen that for at least 5 years, maybe longer.
