Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

Do any of you use the FitBit app to track calories? I've been using this for the last 2 years. I quite like that I have everything in one place (steps, calories, etc) and I have it set to a deficit so that I'm not eating back my exercise calories.

I hear lots of people say that Nutracheck is the best calorie counting app. I just wondered if anyone has used both FitBit and Nutracheck and has any thoughts about whether it's worth changing? However, as I already use FitBit, I'd prefer to not pay for another app unless it really is better!

I'm just trying to consider any tiny tweaks I can make as I am eating really low calorie but not losing any weight!

notzoe · 05/05/2024 09:53

I slipped up slightly yesterday in the form of a yum yum, some crisps and some garlic bread so will really need to be strict today. I am not too worried though as am still eating so so much less generally.

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend.

HoneyMobster · 05/05/2024 10:09

@Cherryblossom81 - I use Garmin and MyFitnessPal. I don't think any of the activity trackers are that accurate to be honest but I seem to recall fitbits are the least accurate after phones. There was a R4 programme where they tested and compared teachers recently.

@Mum5net - have you poured over the various Renpho measures yet? I like the protein and metabolic age ones best 😂

Beatrixslobber · 06/05/2024 08:20

@HoneyMobster your lunch sounds lovely.

I was away over the weekend and unfortunately the food options wasn’t great so I lived on salad and couscous which I’m sure my body loved.

@Mum5net I hated my scales when they first came as they showed a slight increase 😂

Bubbleswithsqueak · 06/05/2024 08:38

I hate having to be away for work. This week I had to have a sausage and egg 'all day breakfast sandwich' one day, and a pasty and a bowl of noodles another day (literally all that was available). Weight has gone up by 0.3kg, despite eating well (v low carb, no sugar) for the whole of the rest of the week. Ah well. Hopefully some of it's water weight, and it will be better next week.

SW: 73kg
CW: 71.7kg
TW: 63kg

Happy Tuesday everyone.

Lovely Bank Holiday yesterday. Played tennis in the morning and had a 'at home' brunch with DH (scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and bagel). Long dog walk and then tea and cake by the river. Eating a little bit more than I have to try and establish a maintenance routine. I reckon the long term goal is to stay under 9 stone.

SW 11 stone 4lbs (February 24)
CW 8 stone 12.6 lbs
GW 8 stone 12 lbs

notzoe · 07/05/2024 09:21

A bit of a gain for me this morning after a huge meal out yesterday. As long as it’s off by the end of the week I will be happy.

I can tell this is going to be very very slow progress for me with lots of gaining back a pound or so then losing it again. I miss the days of clear, multiple pound losses :(

Beatrixslobber · 07/05/2024 09:33

No movement on the scale for me which is fine.

I went for a run last night after taking a break due to injury. I really enjoyed it.

StickyStones · 07/05/2024 11:51

I think I've lost about 1lb in three weeks. Pathetic! It's always incredibly slow for me so I just need to stick with it as much as I can.

I also went for a 5km run yesterday @Beatrixslobber and really enjoyed it too. My legs felt really good and my speed was up for the first half of it. The second half is full of hills so I walked those on the advice of my physio. I've been getting numbness in my toes from incredibly tight calves but dry needling seems to be keeping it at bay.

Beatrixslobber · 07/05/2024 12:19

Well done @StickyStones . Bizarrely I find that my pace increases the further I go.

Gensola · 07/05/2024 13:08

I’m still at 130/9 stone 4 - pleased as had a weekend away with DH and had wine, ate out etc but walked loads and kept breakfast and lunch to healthy choices which seems to have made the difference.
Due for surgery in the next two weeks so hoping to lose more before that as I won’t be able to exercise for 4-6 weeks.

notzoe · 07/05/2024 13:11

Everyone is doing so well. I am jealous of the rubber, I would love to be a runner but it absolutely wrecks my knees.

I’ve decided that I am really going to take OMAD seriously this week (ie no ice lollies or cake after my one meal) and if no decent loss next week I’ll need to look into other options including the dreaded low carb. I only have about 9 weeks until my holiday so can’t afford to be losing and gaining the same pound any longer.

Mum5net · 07/05/2024 13:41

Down a measly 0.1 kg today on my trusty old scales. Not fully programmed the Renpho ones as the holiday weekend took an unexpected twist and I need to be naked and 'in the mood' to do the tape measurements.
However, am remaining confident. Now officially 7kg lighter than I was on Feb 22nd and I'm certainly fitting my clothes better. @notzoe @StickyStones I get your frustration - the tiny shifts seem to be all I can muster, but they are still progress.

Well done all. It’s good to hear about the successes (and disappointments, which happen to the best of us.)

My scales showed 62 today! - admittedly it was 62.95kg but that’s a first for a while. I was 65.5kg on 20th April so I’m pretty chuffed with that. My waistbands already feel looser and I’ve seen a Boden dress I fancy wearing in Paris in June- but only if I see 60 on the scales by then.

An unexpected upside is that I feel much more energetic now I’m eating a bit less, and healthier food. No massive carb crashes after lunch and I’m not craving sweet stuff.

SpreadHummusNotHate · 08/05/2024 07:15

Morning,

Slow going here I think I last posted about 2 weeks ago and only lost a pound since then! Am only in a fairly small calorie deficit though as trying to make these changes sustainable so probably not going to see huge losses it week - so long as the general direction is downwards! Going away for a few days now so will be eating more but hopefully doing a lot of steps

A little bit of progress here. Now 61.5kg and today I can see my face is actually thinner overnight. Also my kiwi fruits aren't working so there is scope for more!🤔Will try to get renpho sorted and the hoola hoop back out. DM's house is sold so that's another tick. Scrambled eggs, beetroot and parma ham for lunch. Tonight's dinner is Delia's tomato sauce, a heap of green vegetables and a half portion of pasta. Have run out of the delicious medjool dates, so that might be why I am losing ... How are my fellow hula hoopers? I've broken my Master Chef promise. I'm a fraud.

Morning all. I've been crap for a couple of weeks I'm afraid! Work has been stressful (the honeymoon period is over and now all the work has hit my desk!) so I've not done any exercise. Which is stupid as I know that when I exercise I feel better and have more energy. Oh well.

And I've been snacking too. Argh.

notzoe · 10/05/2024 09:31

Official weigh of the week for me this morning and I am 11.4 so total loss since my first weigh (a week after starting) is a poxy 2lbs since 25/04. So a pound a week.

I know I just need to keep on keeping on but a good loss of 3/4lbs would really help.

I need to not put those 2lbs back on over the weekend.

Well done! I know it doesn’t seem much but the best way to lose weight is slowly, a pound or 2 a week.

Itdjgsurchg · 10/05/2024 12:43

No loss for me this week. Very disappointed but I’ve just finished my period and had too much chocolate so shouldn’t complain. At least I haven’t put any one. Feeling deflated that I’m not going to be able to lose much by the end of June now.

Thank you and I know you are right. Slow and steady wins the race. I just need to keep going!

Hopefully you’ll get your post period loss next week!

House selling/buyers is ruining my motivation. Looking to get back onto it once the chaos has moved on a stage in a week or two.

FlutteryButterfly · 10/05/2024 18:36

I'm another slow and steady here, 0.25lb lost this week and I'm trending downwards. I've been actively trying to lose 1.5st since end of Jan. I've lost 10lb so far with losses most weeks. I'm not overweight but not at my comfortable weight IYKWIM, so the progress is going to be slow. I'm happy with the results.

Well done all.

That’s really inspirational for me, thank you for posting. Just shows you just need to stick at it.
