Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

Thanks @HoneyMobster ☺️ I think I just need to see what I have in the cupboards already and thinking how that can work for me. I must have something that won't leak but sturdy and light enough for being thrown in a bag for hours!

@StickyStones I haven't run for a few years, I never got on with it. I did tweak one side of my lower back a few weeks ago on my rowing machine after not having exercised for a while and it's only in the last week that I've felt comfortable enough to get back on it, start doing core and strength workouts etc. Well done on the PBs!! 👏🏻

Sparticle · 01/05/2024 13:23

@n@notzoe I hadn't heard of OMAD before but I've just had a quick Google. I don't think I could do that so fair play to you if you're okay with it!
I've just read that everything is meant to be eaten within one hour apart from water and black tea and coffee which you can drink outside of the hour? Otherwise it is one meal - one beverage - one hour?

StickyStones · 01/05/2024 13:39

I just realised that it was @HoneyMobster who did the 7km! @Sparticle You were probably wondering why I was asking you about injuries 😂

I did wonder 🤣

follygirl · 01/05/2024 13:52

Having a good day so far. Weighed in at 65 kg and had a private lesson of reformer Pilates as I'm starting a weekly class from tomorrow.
Bit nervous but excited too.

NatMoz · 01/05/2024 13:55

Managed a 4 mile run on my lunch break. Fighting the temptation to gorge and had a hard boiled egg instead🤣.

HoneyMobster · 01/05/2024 16:08

@NatMoz - love a cheeky lunch time run.

@StickyStones - I've had a couple of running related injuries over the years but I'm feeling good at the moment. I think variety is key. I play tennis and do Pilates and Yoga and occasional weights.

I did have a knee problem for a while but it was linked to a 'weak' big toe. It took ages to get to the bottom of it but when I strengthened the toe (resistance band around it and flexing against it) it improved. It blew my mind that the toe snd knee were linked.

My physio said that in bare feet when standing you should practice lifting your big toe away from the floor whilst the other toes stay flat . And then lift the 4 toes and keep the big toes down. It's a good one to do while boiling a kettle.

Beatrixslobber · 02/05/2024 08:04

@NatMoz well done on your lunch time run!

Dh cooked a massive cauldron sized pot of veggie chilli last night. I only had a small portion but it was delicious.

Weight is going back down after my weekend away gain.

I didn’t manage to get up for the gym today because I heard the rain and turned off the alarm. Unfortunately it’s still raining and I have to go more or less next to the gym to get to work so should have just gone!

notzoe · 02/05/2024 09:26

My scales were kind to me this morning! From 11 5.6 yesterday to 11 5 today and my weight went from overweight to normal.

BMI still orange though so would like to get that green. Not because I actually care about my BMI, just because it’s something to work towards.

Sparticle · 02/05/2024 09:56

Morning all :) @Beatrixslobber where are you that it's raining? In Lancashire it was nice this morning and due to be warm later. Miracle.

StickyStones · 02/05/2024 12:01

@HoneyMobster crazy that knee pain can originate from your toe, but I've had bad back pain that was linked to crazy tight quads. Also took me ages to figure out that one.

When I said I got a PB the other day I actually meant Strava told me a particular section was a PB, but today was a real one. Fastest ever 5km, woohoo. I even walked a bit! how that works out I don't know, but there was a really strong wind behind me for a lot of it which helped.

But the scales were not kind to me, back up a lb again. So frustrating but I think it might be water weight. I went to the sauna last night and drank a ton of water as it was 100 degrees in there, insanely hot.

notzoe · 03/05/2024 08:18

Morning all!

Heads up for a seriously stupid question from me. If I’m calling Friday my official weigh day and last week I was 11 5.4 and this week I’m 11 4.6 is my loss 14oz?

Best of luck to us all for the weekend. It wasn’t the weekend that let me down last week though it was Monday as I was off work and made cakes so I cannot fall into that temptation again.

CommeIlFaut · 03/05/2024 08:49

Morning all! Well done to all the losers. It’s nice to be on a thread that’s about healthy eating, exercise and balance rather than crash diets.

It’s been three weeks for me and I have gone from 65.5 kg to 63.2 kg. I’m pretty perimenopausal and so assumed it would be almost impossible to shift any weight so I’ll take that as a win!

I have noticed already that my waistband is a bit loose and my tummy is not quite a barrel shape. I bought a gorgeous pair of Red linen trousers three weeks ago which I almost took back to the shop because I looked so tubby. I tried them on again last night, and while I don’t exactly look like Cindy Crawford they now look so much better.

I’m hoping to see the number 61 on the scales by June and to see 60 by the time my daughter and I are in Paris at the end of June. And not to see the number 70 after three days of pastries!

I’m losing weight mostly for the health benefits, but looking good in my clothes again will be a huge boost to myself esteem.

Mum5net · 03/05/2024 11:29

What I like about the thread is that there are many clearly having the same challenges. I skip breakfast and do 16:8. I'm not great on salads but I can rotate the same 2 or 3 lunches for days. Scrambled egg, beetroot and parma ham is the current one. Or I will do a petit pois omelette with beetroot. Or a home made soup

Elsewhere I've substituted sweet potatoes for ordinary potatoes and trying to eat fewer grapes and medjool dates - my go-to snacks.
I've found alignment an issue. Family member has bad jaw pain (TMJ) and it actually affects hips and knees. For me being lighter means my knee is less sore and it's a lot easier bending down and getting back up.
OW 22.02.24 69.1 kg
Start of thread 03.04.24 65.0 kg
CW 03.05.24 62.4 kg
GW 01.07.24 60.0 kg but really 58.0 kg
I'm picking up Rempho scales this weekend.
My Fitbit average daily calorie burn went from 2093 in March to 2242 in April but I'm going to see the effect Rempho tracking does for my motivation. Fitbit steps for April averaged 17,835 which was annoying as I wanted to hit 18k.
My Fitness Pal shows I am on track but could do better.
But overall, it's the knowledge that there are others trying to break bad habits that is helping me through...
We've got a long weekend. I'm hoping for some sunshine and to be outdoors for the best part although at some point I've got to Rug Doctor the stair and lounge carpet so that's definitely inside!
Be marvellous!

Well dine lovers and don't give up hope if you've stalled- it happens to us all!

I'm doing feast and fast and its working well for me albeit at a slow steady pace. I only have a little to lose, my comfort weight is 9st6lb but I look good at 10st0.

I'm on a feast day, have just got home from work and I've cracked open a beer! Honey and Soy pork with rice for dinner.

When I fast I do go hard-core but its worth it for feast days. I'm in the zone now, I'll have the odd week where I will plateau but alls good.

Start- 11st 2.5lbs
Current- 10 st 6.75 lbs
Goal- 9st 6 lbs

Have a good weekend all.

Cherryblossom81 · 03/05/2024 17:45

Well done, everyone. I haven't checked in for a while, but enjoying reading about everyone's progress.

I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong! I've only lost a pound since we started this thread. I'm tracking my calories and only eating between 1000 and 1200 calories a day (doesn't seem healthy to go any lower). I'm short and only have a few pounds to lose, so knew it would be slow. But I guess I'd hoped to have lost more than a pound by now!

In good news - I started Caroline Girvan workouts when we started this thread and am really enjoying them. I'd never done any type of strength/weights workouts before and am now over half way through her Iron series (with very light weights compared with what she uses!).

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Mum5net · 03/05/2024 20:55

Quick Question. Have purchased my Renpho scales. I’ve got the Bluetooth solar ones. Should I have gone for the Wi-Fi ones? Not opened yet so can still swap.

OP posts:
notzoe · 03/05/2024 21:44

I didn’t go for the wifi ones and have had no issues at all so far. I’ve been taking my phone to the bathroom, having the app open and hitting start measurement on the app and am happy with the results I’m getting from them (just not the weight it’s giving me Grin).

I can’t think what the wifi ones could do that mine don’t.

Mum5net · 03/05/2024 22:07

@notzoe thank you, that was funny.
I'm taking the wrapping off...

Just wished hadn't taken wrapping off a bag of Crosta & Mollica Bolli Italian crackers...

Morning all. Grim weather up north today, unsurprisingly for a bank holiday weekend.

What are these magical scales you're all talking about?

Yesterday I was really stressed at work and a bit down but I didn't reach for the crisps or wine last night which was a step forward.

Beatrixslobber · 04/05/2024 17:21

I do the same as @notzoe.

HoneyMobster · 04/05/2024 18:11

@notzoe - I turn the Bluetooth off on my phone and check it's a weight I'm happy with 😂

Had lunch with my dad today at a nice country pub. Delicious asapargus and egg starter and grilled chilli tofu and roasted veg. All very healthy and minimal carbs. I can honestly say I wouldn't have chosen anything else. Pub food has really improved in recent years.

Did a cheeky 6k run this morning to keep things ticking over.

Sparticle · 04/05/2024 20:11

That sounds delicious @HoneyMobster. We've had takeaway tonight but I've still tracked it and hopefully I'll still be fine come Monday morning.

Mum5net · 05/05/2024 09:21

Very privileged being a two-scale owner. Bad news is that previous scales say I am 62.2 and new ones 62.55.
Good to be distracted by DM hour selling project.
