Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

Lol @Paintedhat @notzoe I've been dying for some lemon curd and it's taking every ounce of willpower not to make it!

mondaytosunday · 29/04/2024 14:38

ONG @StickyStones Lemon curd! What evil is this!
My dad loved it so it makes me think of him though🥰

Bubbleswithsqueak · 29/04/2024 15:51

Well done to all the losers, stickers at it and starters again - keep on keeping on!
I thought I'd done well this week - had one small piece of cake for DS's 18th and otherwise have stuck to very low carb and no sugar, two meals per day plus a handful of nuts if I get desperate at 4pm. But exactly the same weight as last Monday after carbo conference. Ah well - will keep going. Average is 0.5kg per week, so I'll take that!
SW: 73kg
CW: 71.4kg
TW: 64kg

AdventureTravelDreamer · 29/04/2024 19:27

@mondaytosunday we only have the veggie meals. Tonight is a creamy mushroom pasta and the card says 673 per serving. I have manually calculated it at 610 excluding mushrooms, onion and balsamic vinegar so this one at least is pretty close. I do with they’d use some low fat Greek yogurt etc more though!

@StickyStones it is so much harder when you are shorter but as long as it is moving in the right direction it doesn’t matter how quickly or slowly if you stick at it you will still reach your goal 😊The more I repeat this the more I’m hoping it sinks in for me too!!!

Gensola · 30/04/2024 06:51

Down to 130/9 stone 4 and really
hoping to break into the 120s this week!

AdventureTravelDreamer · 30/04/2024 07:59

After 5 days on the same weight I finally had my little whoosh - woohoo!!! If I lose another 0.1kg by tomorrow it will be exactly 3kg down in April which I am over the moon with. The target was 2kg, it’s been DH’s birthday this month so we’ve had 4 nights in an all inclusive, dinners out, general socialising so I really feel like this is sustainable long term. Feeling very positive for a Tuesday morning 😀

HoneyMobster · 30/04/2024 08:09

Great work @Gensola and @AdventureTravelDreamer - I love a whoosh. The human body is a mysterious but wonderful thing.

25 min run completed in the sun this morning. Everything feels easier when the sun shines. Easier to take exercise and easier to eat well. I'm embracing the 'massive salads' for lunch this week - some chicken, prawns or tuna with a bit of dressing and a sprinkle of walnuts and a pile of lettuce, cucumber, red pepper and baby tomatoes.

AdventureTravelDreamer · 30/04/2024 08:11

Same @HoneyMobster I’m just making myself a big Greek salad for work today though we don’t have sunshine where I am! (Midlands)

Sparticle · 30/04/2024 08:52

Morning all, sunny-ish up in Lancashire 😎

I weighed this morning and appear to have lost a pound since yesterday... don't worry, I know that our bodies weigh odd depending on all sorts but it's given me a little boost this morning.

Started the day with a dance workout followed by core. Feeling good.

I've just got my first pay from my new job which is very welcome as my last company mucked up my P45 so I haven't been paid properly since February. Might treat myself to a Nutracheck subscription as I don't get on with MFP but I really want to find a working discount code...!

Sparticle · 30/04/2024 10:00

Yay, I found a working discount code so have re-subscribed to Nutracheck for a year. I think I need to track and keep an eye on what I’m eating again. Hopefully I’ll see results next week. 😊

Paintedhat · 30/04/2024 11:31

Down half a pound today. Phew! Have just done some dance workouts on YouTube - anybody do this kind of thing? As long as there’s a good cheesy tune, I can keep going!

notzoe · 30/04/2024 12:23

Oops! Back up to 11.6 today. That will be the cupcakes I suppose.

StickyStones · 30/04/2024 14:59

I'm back up as well today. So demoralising. I'm finding it really hard to find time to exercise which isn't helping.

Hiddendoor · 30/04/2024 15:14

Cracking updates, folks, good work!

I'm nearly down to the last notch on my belt. Which is good for me, but means I'll probably need to buy another belt at some point.

Really like the salad choices. I tell myself the only thing stopping me from making a salad is our stupid tiny under the counter fridge that has limited space for massive salads. The reality is the only thing stopping me is myself and the fact I have 3 acceptable (to me) lunch meals and none of them are salad. 1 is smoked salmon with black pepper on toasted bagel. 1 is ham with tomato and lettuce (new option, msy not stay the course) and the last is chicken, tomato, cheese and lettuce in toasted bagel or just plain toast. I've eaten the last option nearly every working day since March 2020.

Anyway. Feeling the benefits of more activity. Hooray.

sugarbyebye · 30/04/2024 15:37

We're on a salad streak at the moment, I think we've had one every day for at least a month. I make sure I've got jars of roast peppers, nuts, dried fruits, eggs, seeds, mozarella etc as well as the usual tomatoes, leaves, and then mix it up with boiled puy lentils, tins of tuna, baby new potatoes, croutons, etc. I asked DP how he was enjoying having a salad every day and he said he didn't realise he was!

NatMoz · 30/04/2024 16:46

I should have started at the beginning of April but oh well, I'm here now. First time on the scales since i had my baby (2.5 years ago 🤣) and i was horrified to be 87.4kg?????

This puts me in the obese category at 5"6. 😱😱😱😱

I go on holiday on 6th July so figured it's now or never.

I'm going for a no snack, low carb effort. Also upping my exercise.

Managed a 5 mile run on my lunch break and i may just push myself to get close to half marathon level by July (i won't compensate by eating excessively after a run to treat myself).

Hopefully something gives! Would like to not be embarrassed about my arms and tummy if possible!

Sparticle · 30/04/2024 17:02

Welcome Natmoz!

Loving the salad ideas. I too love a salad, but it tends to be iceberg lettuce (a lot, I love the stuff), cucumber (also adore), radishes and cherry toms. Then perhaps chickpeas or small amount of cheese with red fat salad cream, or a tin of mackerel in sauce. That’s it. I should probably change it up a bit but I’m quite happy with all that.

Today’s lunch was salad but on the side with some leftover lentil ragu. It’s possibly my favourite veggie meal to make (we are pescatarian).

Beatrixslobber · 30/04/2024 19:45

@Sparticle I prefer nutra check too.

Jealous that you have all had sunshine! I almost had to paddle to the gym this morning.

AdventureTravelDreamer · 01/05/2024 06:26

Small shift in the right direction for me this morning means I ended up with a 3.2kg loss in April which I am so chuffed with. Target for May is another 3kg which would mean I was within a kilo of being back in a healthy weight range and although I fully believe there are many more indicators of health than a BMI it would still be a big motivator for me!

If anyone has some fairly low calorie high protein veggie breakfast ideas that aren’t eggs or yogurt please share as I can see myself getting a bit bored soon!

@sugarbyebye made me chuckle that your DH hadn’t noticed he was having salads, they’re obviously interesting / tasty 😁

Welcome @NatMoz

HoneyMobster · 01/05/2024 07:36

Well done @AdventureTravelDreamer - that's a great loss for April.

Can't help with the high protein breakfast ideas though! Eggs and Greek yoghurt are my go to breakfasts.

Been out for a 7k run in the mist. On an all day work trip today so have prepped overnight oats for a late breakfast on the train and a chicken salad for lunch. Also have green protein powder in a shaker to prevent snacking on the way home. I always get tired on the last leg of the journey and crave a kitkat from the train buffet.

Sparticle · 01/05/2024 09:24

What a good plan @HoneyMobsterwith your food today. Random question but what container do you put your ooats in? If I have them at home I use a glass kilner jar but I can’t fit that in my laptop bag when I’m travelling so I’m interested in how you do it :)

How about breakfast beans/homemade baked beans for a veggie non-egg or yogurt breakfast? Something like this? https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/recipes/vegan-baked-beans-recipe

I’m sure you could have those on their own without toast if, like me, you’re trying to avoid bread.

Vegan Baked Beans Recipe

Tinned baked beans are a staple in most British kitchens, but they're very easy to make yourself. While many gourmet versions have added bacon or dairy, Becca's on hand to provide a tasty vegan version of the classic breakfast dish.

Sparticle · 01/05/2024 09:26

I’ve had a good start to the day. 20min strength workout with 10min row, then 30min fast walk for the school drop off. The sunshine always makes a difference to my mood but it is due to rain later 🙄

Right, better get on with work…

StickyStones · 01/05/2024 10:22

A more positive report for me today, slightly down from Monday morning but still haven't gotten to where I was this time last week, I think my weight fluctuates quite a lot but there's a very slow downward trend.

I also got out for a run today, I did 5km but walked the steep hills as I'm getting very tight calves and the physio advised I try to keep to the flat. Do you ever get injured @Sparticle? I had two PBs on strava so happy enough with that!

Currently drinking a fairly gross protein shake and the plan for me today is another coffee, eggs for lunch and then pork stir fry with rice for dinner.

HoneyMobster · 01/05/2024 10:23

@Sparticle - I have a couple of Tupperware pots. I think you'd describe them as 'soup' ones. One is insulated and one isn't. As I tend to eat the oats fairly early in the day the insulation doesn't really matter. I think they came from Lakeland.

I tend to sort out my food for 'on the go' the night before and put everything in a tote bag so I can just grab it from the fridge as I leave.

notzoe · 01/05/2024 12:39

Back to 11 stone 5.6 for me today. I am enjoying weighing every day as it’s letting me see the consequences of my little blips. It also means I’m not waiting a whole week to weigh, hoping for a big loss then feeling disheartened when there isn’t one. Would like to be 11 stone 4 by Monday and just aim for a pound a week.
