Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

Made it to 9st 7 this morning, so slowly but surely making progress! Not been a terrible week but not quite as good as I planned. Snacking is still my downfall. Need to have a good weekend to sustain the progress. Two weeks until dress fitting! Would love to loose at least 2 more pounds 🤞 however I don't want to do anything too drastic as I'm really trying to sustain this way of eating more permanently

StickyStones · 26/04/2024 12:26

I'm down a lb on last week, but seeing as I this weight about two weeks ago I don't know what to make of it. Hopefully it's part of a general downward trend.

@HoneyMobster I'm sorry about your mum. I'm sure she'd be very proud of you.

WhoKnowsWhatToDoWithThis · 26/04/2024 20:27

@Beatrixslobber I'm very up and down too at the moment 😬

HoneyMobster · 25/04/2024 09:04

@AdventureTravelDreamer - I line your thinking. I'm also feeling pleased with myself that something has clicked in my head and I'm the slimmest I've been in years (23+!).

My Mum died over Christmas and I have a hunch that her death and ill health triggered an 'if not now, than when?' response in me. In her later years she could barely walk and had smoked all her life. I don't mind getting old, I just don't want to be old and unhealthy.

I’m really sorry to hear that - big hug. It’s just coming up to the 1 year anniversary of my mum dying …. Takes a lot of adjusting to . And I really agree - makes time passing really real x

HoneyMobster · 28/04/2024 14:41

Thanks for the sympathy everyone. It's odd how bereavement affects you. My Mum was very beautiful (Elizabeth Taylor look-a-like as a young woman). I think she would be secretly be delighted to see me back in my leather trousers.

New low yesterday - starting with an 8! Edged past my original GW so tweaking to 8 stone 12 (middle of the range for 5 ft 3).

SW 11 stone 4
CW 8 stone 13.6
GW 8 stone 12

ridingfreely · 28/04/2024 15:04

Joining! Turn 40 in July and would love to loose a stone before then

AdventureTravelDreamer · 28/04/2024 17:50

@HoneyMobster that’s an amazing loss! I’m sure your Mum would be delighted 😀 My Mum is 77 and her weight is definitely impacting her mobility and it’s definitely a motivating factor for me. I often think ‘if not now, when?’
Scales have been showing exactly the same weight for the past 4 days so really hoping for a bit of a whoosh soon as I have stayed on track all weekend. Trying to remind myself regularly to trust the process and as long as I am consistent the results will come.

Beatrixslobber · 28/04/2024 18:29

@HoneyMobster congratulations on the 8!

Sadly I seem to be going the wrong way still. I enjoyed lots of nice food and cocktails while away so it’s not that surprising but I’m going to be super strict from tomorrow.

Fast 800 is back
Intermittent fasting
No alcohol
Gym x 3
Walk a minimum of 8000 steps
Minimum of 2 litres of water

sugarbyebye · 28/04/2024 18:52

Still plodding along here. Still off the sugar although definitely eating too many crisps!

SW 64.0 kilos
CW 62.7 kilos
GW 57 kilos

Paintedhat · 28/04/2024 21:36

@HoneyMobster Well done! I’m waiting for that magic moment when I see an 8 on the scales! One day, one day!!!
Sorry about your loss. My mum died when I was 6. I often go through phases of thinking I must get healthy and lose weight so that I don’t die young like she did. It spurs me on. On the flip side, it gets me thinking life’s too short to be counting calories. Needless to say that the flip flopping between the two doesn’t help me.

janeljl · 28/04/2024 21:55

I was pleased to see 9st 3.5 on the scale again this morning after last weekends blip 😂

I've had a few sneaky treats today but nothing too major. Back to it properly tomorrow though.

I'm mainly struggling with feeling really really tired and not sure why. I'm wondering if starting doing weights workouts could be to blame? I'm only doing 10 mins a day but I haven't done any form of workout other than Pilates since 2019 🙈

Good luck this week everyone x

Beatrixslobber · 29/04/2024 05:52

3lb on this morning and back over 9 stone. How bloody annoying!

HoneyMobster · 29/04/2024 06:33

@Beatrixslobber - annoying but it's not 'real'. I had a similar 'gain' after last weekend and it was pure bloat from alcohol and over indulgence. It will be gone by Wednesday!

Beatrixslobber · 29/04/2024 06:55

@HoneyMobster I hope so! I’m going to drown it out with water 😂

Sparticle · 29/04/2024 07:56

Morning all, weighed in this morning and stayed the same.

I'm disappointed as I really upped the activity last week and hit all 3 rings on my watch for the whole week - the first time I've done that in months.

But clearly not tracking my food is where I'm going wrong because I'm probably kidding myself as to how healthily I've been eating. I mean on just on Thurs-Fri last week I had Costa greek yog and granola for breakfast, those nice salads and frittata but there was probably a lot of oil, domino's, a beer and a glass of wine, cereal and a full veggie English breakfast, salads again with a little pastry lentil and veg pie, maltesers, proper meal when I got in, snacks galore that evening.
Oh and fish and chips from the chippy on Wednesday.
Then this weekend has been lots of cake and more snacks. Writing all this down is an eye-opener!!

Okay so I'm going to try to track my food in MFP every day for a week and see if I can get into better habits. It helps that I'm not travelling for work this week.

Have a good day all Brew

mondaytosunday · 29/04/2024 08:41

Gosh some of y'all starting weights are lower than my goal weight! I'd be happy at 12 and a bit stone or 80 kilos. I'd be a size 12-14 then and when I last got down to 10 stone 10 (68kg) I was a size 10-12 and it was very difficult to maintain.
Anyway three week weigh in today and I've lost exactly 7kg (15.4lbs). Not even a kilo this week despite being on track all week. But overall ok - that first week I lost a lot.
@AdventureTravelDreamer we get three meals of Hello Fresh a week and last night I had lamb with mash and have to say no way was it the stated 540 calories! I wish I had weighed the potatoes as it was quite a lot, plus I don't know if they include calories like the knob of butter and splash of milk it asked me to put in the mash? I added 180 calories to it as a best guesstimate. I find they never include enough vegetables so always add more.
Not looking good for week ahead! Three days away to celebrate a friend's 60th and I'm cooking my calorie laden lasagna the first night (for nine)! I'll also be drinking - I haven't had a drink since I started this diet. We are sticking with two meals a day but the first meal of the day will be a full English! Thank goodness only three days! Then just under 8 weeks til my Spanish holiday 😬.

ElleDeeCB · 29/04/2024 09:04

Just did my Monday morning weigh-in. I’m now 9 st 7lb (and three-quarters!) so exactly 2lb less than last week. I’m not really doing much exercise as was so tired from Covid last week, but I’ll try and pick it up this week. I think Covid has also flattened my appetite, which is why my weight is still dropping, I’ve not been as strict with my diet as the numbers suggest.

B= ff Greek yogurt, berries, cocoa powder, coffee
L= will be provided at work so not sure yet!
D= katsu curry with tofoo and will go easy on the sticky rice!

Mum5net · 29/04/2024 10:01

Welcome @ridingfreely. Officially we are a band of 60 international losers (although we could be as many as 61 or 62 as I'm sure I've missed some along the way.) Hard to believe we've had four weekends together and are coming up for our first month.
Just back from a week on manoeuvres... two birthdays, 1000 miles, DM's house out of probate and on sale today, at least half a dozen pub meals with the dog, a very spenny sandwich and cake from Tebay services yesterday and I'm down 0.1 kg. I'll take that as a win although DH is down 0.9 kg and he ate breakfasts, and drank much more beer and wasn't trying to lose.
@HoneyMobster Elizabeth Taylor was stunning. Maybe an unintended consequence of what you have come through but certainly a little golden nugget of marvellousness passed to you from your DM... she's given you an extra super power.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend and is ready for another week on the losing train.

I am weighing daily M-F and skipping weekends I’ve decided. This morning I weighed exactly the same as I did on Friday despite two takeaways so I’m happy with that. I am still sticking to OMAD and am finding it easy enough. If I don’t start losing I will have to make that one meal a bit healthier but I’ll give it another couple of weeks to see how I go as only got my scales late last week.

Massive well done to everyone!

follygirl · 29/04/2024 10:16

I had a good weekend. Went out for dinner and had starter and main but skipped dessert as they had more calories than my starter and main combined!
Just weighed myself and have lost weight.
Am now 65.1 kgs. Would like to be 63 before my girls' holiday end of June so it's looking possible.
Have a good week everyone.

StickyStones · 29/04/2024 10:18

I haven't been doing great here, as a 5-footer I just find I need to eat so little to lose weight which is really hard.

I'm still in the mindset which will mean I'll eventually start to lose but it's a painstakingly slow process and I'm unlikely to lose 7lbs before my holiday in July.

That’s the hardest part, staying consistent when you’re not seeing a change and trying to keep the mindset of it will happen.

I’ve got the same goal of 7lbs before my holiday in July. To get me under 11 stone. I really hope we both manage it.

Paintedhat · 29/04/2024 13:44

I had every intention of this being the week to get my arse in gear. I juiced this morning- all good- then decided to batch cook and bake (healthy-ish cookies for the kids with buckwheat flour etc). I may have had a quick taste to check they’re ok to give to the kids 😊 I really just need someone to follow me around and stop me in my tracks when I’m reaching for the treats!

notzoe · 29/04/2024 13:44

Can someone tell me why I’ve just made cupcakes?!

Paintedhat · 29/04/2024 13:55

@notzoe To go with the cookies that I just made??!
