Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

Am drooling over your meal plans! Mine is Huel shake 3x per day plus ½ apple and 15 almonds mon- Fri Then healthy dinners at the weekend - will see how effective that is when I weigh in on Friday!

StickyStones · 22/04/2024 13:52

I love to see meal plans too :)

@ElleDeeCB I'm having aubergine tonight as well. I'm going to try Ottolenghi's aubergine dumplings with pasta.

Hello all!
I tend to do a weigh in just once a week on Mondays.

SW 138lb
CW 132 lb
GW 128

So I did lose 6 lb in two weeks, but I was on meal replacement shakes for two meals a day. Now the real test will begin, eating real healthy food and no snacks!

Breakfast oatmeal with added hemp and flax seed, partly skimmed milk, and a coffee.
Lunch: cream of asparagus soup (made with rice instead of cream to thicken it), yogurt and berries.
Dinner will be roast chicken, greek salad and either potato or rice.

Gensola · 22/04/2024 20:09

Love reading people’s meals 😄

today for me:

breakfast: 100g skyr, big handful of blueberries and blackberries, 10g walnuts, 50g kefir, pinch of cinnamon, scoop vanilla protein powder

lunch: this is provided by work and can be variable. Today was a chickpea and squash stew which I had with salad and a spoonful of couscous, then melon and grapes.

dinner: smoked paprika, leek, tomato and prawn stew with cauliflower rice and spinach, pudding of Greek yoghurt, 1/2 a kiwi fruit and 1/2 a grated square of dark chocolate.

snacks: 1/2 banana, satsuma and a 0% beer

I’ve had a rubbish day and fell head first into a pile of carbs. I don’t think it’s comfort, I think that it’s self harm. I’ve allowed myself today and stopped at 6 to start my fast. Tomorrow is a new day and I won’t be falling back into old habits so easily. I need to find something else to do when I have a bad day, salad doesn’t really cut it.

ElleDeeCB · 22/04/2024 20:38

I’m a carb-addict @Beatrixslobber i know exactly what you mean. My go-to alternative to crips, toast etc is those Callo lentil cakes (crunchy) topped with cream cheese black pepper, or cheddar with a bit of pickle. Also apple slices topped with crunchy peanut butter, and if that’s not enough, some fruit n nut mix. I this affects my blood sugar much less than carbs do, so I don’t have those spikes that make me feel ravenous. The longer I’ve stayed off carbs the less I crave them. I try and have extremely small portions when I do have pasta, rice etc. it is hard, I know.

TrustPenguins · 22/04/2024 21:14

This what I've had today:

B - greek yogurt & apple
L - cheese salad bagel
D - pasta bake

Snacks - apple, raspberries, dark chocolate, yogurt & granola

Drinks - tea, orange juice, water

mondaytosunday · 22/04/2024 22:09

@WhoKnowsWhatToDoWithThis good to hear! I like Pilates too but lifting weights seems to be the game changer for really making a difference.
@ElleDeeCB forgive me if I've already posted this: I have two brunches which I alternate (I eat two meals a day)
Brunch 1: Tesco stuffed mushrooms, salad, chorizo, salad topper seeds (542 calories)
Brunch 2: fried egg, one medium avocado on one slice toast, 50gr smoked salmon, bunch of cherry tomatoes (560 calories)
Dinner is about 650-900 calories and is anything from chicken and veg stir fry, steak and chips, fish pie etc etc. I weigh everything or look at calories on packet.
If I have a couple hundred spare I eat an apple or a couple caramel rice cakes or coffee with cream after dinner. Nothing spare tonight!

HoneyMobster · 22/04/2024 22:21

Breakfast - 150g of full fat Greek yoghurt with berries, chia seeds and oats (overnight oats)

Lunch - big bag of prawns made into prawn mayonnaise with green salad

Dinner - chilli con carne and cauliflower rice plus salad.

Latte and super greens protein shake. Lots of pukka teas, fizzy water and tap water. About 1200 calories.

2 hours of tennis and a 6k run. Fitted that in as was off work today.

Sparticle · 22/04/2024 22:42

Evening all. I weighed this morning (naked, before my morning brew, but with jewellery on!) and have stayed the same. Which is pretty great going as we had a German exchange student staying all week so lots of treats and meals out. And I was taken out for lunch on Wednesday and Thursday.

But in very good news, 3 weeks after twinging my back on my rowing machine, I was able to do a proper 30min workout this evening with no issues during or after the row! It's really cheered me up.
@Hiddendoor what machine do you have as I'm toying with the idea of upgrading mine.

janeljl · 23/04/2024 06:23

@mondaytosunday it's weird how much body shape varies despite being a similar height and weight! I've got long arms and legs and a shorter body so I feel like the weight is less spread out if that makes sense? I carry all weight on my bum and thighs too. In my early 20s I was naturally 8st 0 but that would be far too skinny now. When I was planning my wedding, people kept asking me how much weight I planned to lose which seemed crazy!

Beatrixslobber · 23/04/2024 07:30

Thanks @ElleDeeCB I’ll try those.

notzoe · 23/04/2024 10:28

Sorry will catch up on thread later but can anyone recommend me some scales please? Ideally ones I can connect to my phone.

thanks

HoneyMobster · 23/04/2024 11:10

@notzoe - Renpho

@notzoe - Renpho

Thanks, I saw some on the Argos website for around £30 does that sound about right?

Thanow

notzoe · 23/04/2024 11:30

Is it worth getting the Wifi ones?

HoneyMobster · 23/04/2024 11:36

Yes - that sounds right!

AdventureTravelDreamer · 23/04/2024 12:10

Sorry I have not been posting as I was away but caught up with the thread - some great losses already and strong willpower! Little blips won’t make a difference over time so long as you get back on track straight away 😁
Very happy to report that I’ve lost just over 2kg so far this month. Target is 2kg per month for 5 months so will be very happy if I get ahead this month especially given it was DH birthday and we were away in an all inclusive for 5 days then celebrating with friends when we were home.
I’m also veggie and food for me today is;
breakfast frittata with two small eggs, cottage cheese and some veggies (165/19),
lunch two thins with quorn, cheddar and salad (350/21),
snacks hula hoops (120/0.7) and yogurt and berries (90/15.5),
dinner Hello Fresh salad with added quorn escalope (700/32.5).
This totals 1,427 calories and 88.7 protein which is the only macro I try to keep an eye on. These are the number is the brackets.

kessiebird · 24/04/2024 06:17

Just caught up on the thread after a few days away, well done on the losses and I love reading the meal plans. In awe of OMAD too I'd not heard of that until now!

I'm by and large sticking to 1200 - 1400 cals per day. Don't feel very driven at the moment but I do have a lot on in life so I'm doing okay!

My menu is roughly
B two eggs (either fried or boiled) with chilli sauce and salt or fruity porridge which is 180 - 245 cals.
L - stuffed pitta bread with chicken tikka and salad 389 cals
D Hoisin pork strips with stir fried veg and Noodles 524 cals.
S - cereal bar and mini milk pudding.

Snacks are my downfall! Sometimes I can have 1000 cals in three meals but then merrily clock up 600 cals in snacking, like another meal. I'm doing better though. 😊

Beatrixslobber · 24/04/2024 06:57

@notzoe also recommend Renpho.

Im up 2 lbs but have my period.

HoneyMobster · 24/04/2024 10:20

Back down again today to my pre-weekend weight. It's definitely alcohol that causes the bloat.

Have done a Pilates class first thing as I have a gynaecologist appointment at the hospital - so no point trying to work before that.

I'm running my next 10k on May 12th (18 days) and love to be at GW by then. Feels very doable.

Experimenting with a halloumi salad for lunch today. Never tried doing it in the air fryer before.

SW 11 stone 4
CW 9 stone 1.6 lbs
GW 9 stone

spinningpenguin · 24/04/2024 10:22

Morning everyone and well done! I'm enjoying everyone's meal plans, gmits giving me lots of lovely ideas. I am back after few days away. Had a horrible sickness bug over weekend but ok now. I've weighed this morning and have 61kg, so 2kg down so far 🥳 (some of it due to aforementioned stomach bug lol).

Today I had boiled egg and glass of kefir for breakfast, going to have meaty Bolognese type sauce with mash potatoes for lunch, probably some nuts and frozen blueberries and a coffee for an afternoon snack and dinner I have no idea yet as am supposed to attend a networking event so good and drinks will be provided, it could prove tricky.

So far I've managed not to snack too much, but it does happen...

StickyStones · 24/04/2024 11:11

I'm intrigued by these RenPho scales, I have a decent digital Salter one so I don't really need a new one but I'm tempted...

Even though I've been eating well I don't think I've lost anything, maybe a lb. I think I overdo it on the weekends and I need to dial that back.

For lunch I'm going to have porridge, not very exciting I know but it will fill me up. Maybe a protein shake later and then dinner is going to be chicken of some kind...going to go and find a new recipe

Mine are arriving today. I’m quite excited! I’ll need to wait till tomorrow to weigh though as couldn’t possibly weigh at any time other than first thing Grin

HoneyMobster · 24/04/2024 13:28

@StickyStones - well suck you in!

Renpho are great for looking at composition. Gets much more interesting as you approach GW and want to think about health and tone. I'm interested in % muscle and fat these days. Plus it can tell you your protein levels, fascinating to see what you eat showing up as a number.
