Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

Well done everyone for the losses! I'm going to wait a few days until weighing as my period has just started and I ate quite a lot of sugar last week in response to premenstrual cravings. My meals have remained healthy so hoping I'll still have maintained at least. I'm another one who weighs first thing without any clothes, it's the only way!

amibeth1 · 20/04/2024 13:35

Well done everyone for your losses so far!

SW 80.1kg
CW 78.9kg

I'm unsure what I want my target weight to be but I'm aiming for my trousers not to be so tight around my tummy.

My aim for the next few weeks is to increase my daily step count and to complete some form of exercise at least three times a week.

Fluffywithteeth · 20/04/2024 15:12

Is anyone doing the human being diet? I’m thinking of moving to that after a couple of months of HUEL and would love to know what you think

HoneyMobster · 21/04/2024 06:40

Another lb off! Did PARKRUN yesterday and did a decent time but there was a queue to get over the stat and finish lines so the timing was off. Lots of PARKRUN tourists in town for the London Marathon today.

I used our new air fryer for the first time yesterday to cook garlic and paprika chicken. It was a revelation!

My Renpho scales are showing good progress on reducing subcutaneous fat and increasing skeletal muscle. I think skeletal muscle will go 'green' this week!

SW 11 stone 4 lbs
CW 9 stone 1.6 lbs
GW 9 stone

Morning all,

So I've had some off-plan days this week but I'm posting here to get next week off to a better start 😂

I've had really bad PMS for some reason and ate all my feelings then DH's birthday yesterday meant I had lunch out, takeaway in the evening and lots of cake.

I feel bloated and sluggish but have a morning of gardening planned then a walk or bike ride with DD.

Does anyone else loose the plot at certain times in their cycle? It's like I give up any hope of having self control and just eat to get through it.

janeljl · 21/04/2024 08:39

@zebranotzeebra I've just seen your post. I think not weighing at this time is the best way forward!

Beatrixslobber · 21/04/2024 09:07

It’s carbs that I crave when I’m due on!

SpreadHummusNotHate · 21/04/2024 10:37

Weighed this morning and a couple of pounds down 🙌🏻

Doing quite well with food, I think eating more protein is definitely filling me up and making it easier to resist the treats. Need to be sensible this week as going away for a couple of nights next Friday and things will almost certainly go off plan!

walked the dog this morning and then went for a run (more of a plod) - now just watching the marathon and so in awe of anyone doing it!

Hello, can I join too please?
I realise I’m late to the party.

I decided to start losing weight shortly after Christmas as I noticed it had been creeping up. I’m not sure exactly what weight I should be aiming for. I was 8st 7lb throughout my twenties and it never varied regardless of lifestyle. In my 30s it crept up a little after having my kid, but not much. Then something seemed to happen in my early 40s and I got up to over 10stone. I think I should aim for 9stone and see how I feel?

I’m a healthy BMI I realise that, but I still feel out of shape and wobbly, compared to what has been typical for me. Old clothes don’t fit. I’m 5 foot 6 but very small boned, and feel like I’m carrying the weight around my mid-section, which can’t be healthy (fat around organs etc). Trousers from just a few years ago won’t zip up.

Although I was comfortably losing 1lb a week from February, I’m really struggling as I caught a nasty case of Covid earlier this month and have absolutely no spare energy for exercising. Also feel that whilst I’m recovering is a bad time for going on an extreme diet and denying myself proper nutrition.

I’m going on holiday 22 May and I would love to be a bit more trim by then, and reaching my target weight by the summer would be fantastic.

I’m very keen to hear peoples meal plans, especially vegetarian ones.

Thank you for reading this essay.

janeljl · 21/04/2024 13:12

@ElleDeeCB Welcome to the gang!

We sound very similar. I'm 5ft 6 (and a half!) and almost 40. I was 8st 10 for my wedding when I was 29 and have steadily gained throughout my 30s. I'm now aiming to get back to around 8st 12ish as I'm also small-boned.

Oh and also vegetarian! My husband cooks so I try and have small portions with salad to avoid overcomplicating things.

Cherryblossom81 · 21/04/2024 17:58

Hello all. Well done everyone for loses and/or continued efforts with healthy habits.

I've not lost any weight yet (I'm short and at a healthy BMI, so guess it will be slow).

However, I have done some form of exercise (on top of at least 15,000 steps) every day since we started this thread. I started Caroline Girvan workouts a couple of weeks ago and am really enjoying them. I've never done any kind of weights workouts before and am really surprised with how much I'm enjoying this.

I'd still really like to lose 7-10 pounds, so will keep going with eating well, exercising, etc and hopefully I can get back to my happy weight.

WhoKnowsWhatToDoWithThis · 21/04/2024 20:38

I'm another one who's avoiding the scale for a few days 😬.

I've had a fantastic weekend away with friends but much eating and drinking was enjoyed!

Bubbleswithsqueak · 22/04/2024 06:38

So the conference food wasn't disastrous - managed to avoid breakfast and all cakes, and there was loads of salad, so it was actually ok. Back on the high protein wagon now.
Weighed in this morning:
SW: 73kg
CW: 71.4kg
TW: 64kg

I know it's a rubbish and inaccurate tool, but today I dropped out of the 'overweight' category for BMI - hurray!!

WhoKnowsWhatToDoWithThis · 22/04/2024 07:38

Well done @Bubbleswithsqueak that's a great achievement!

Gensola · 22/04/2024 08:12

Hey fluffy I’m doing HBD - I am in phase 3 and I think largely it makes sense, I’m wondering if the weekly treat meal is slowing me down as I’m in a healthy BMI (but at the top of it) and short. Will monitor and consider cutting it.

congrats @Bubbleswithsqueak 🥳

Fluffywithteeth · 22/04/2024 08:16

Thanks @Gensola - that’s good! How much did you lose in p1 and p2? (And well done for getting through them!)

that’s great to hear @Bubbleswithsqueak - you gotta take every win - you’ve earned it!

hioe everyone has a great week ahead x

Gensola · 22/04/2024 08:22

I’ve lost just over a stone - started at 145 and now 132 and stuck in a plateau, I can’t remember the exact numbers, I am 3 weeks into phase 3, I reckon 6 pounds in 2 weeks? Mostly water though I’m sure 😅

Gensola · 22/04/2024 08:22

Just UNDER a stone, sorry!

notzoe · 22/04/2024 08:24

An almost successful weekend for me on OMAD. Slipped up yesterday with a small piece or traybake in the afternoon but that’s been my only transgression all week I think.

I will review my plan in a couple of weeks as there is every chance that I am still not in a deficit even though I’m doing OMAD. Because that OMAD does inevitably include some sort of treat/pudding. If I’m not losing like this I’ll need to cut that out at least some nights unfortunately.

Good luck everyone for the start of another week trying to slim down. One week closer to our goals hopefully Smile

mondaytosunday · 22/04/2024 09:08

Haven't lost anything since last posted (I had one day at maintenance - pasta - which showed up as a kg gain overnight and I've only just got back down). Still, almost 6kg lost in two weeks, so can't complain (though I will to myself)!
@ElleDeeCB and @janeljl my DD is 5' 6.5" and weighs about 10 stone and she's a slim size 10-12. A bit pear shaped but she'd be that even if lighter.. But if she got down to less than 9 stone I'd be worried! I guess people do carry it differently and youth is on her side (18). She does no exercise other than walking.
When I was in my 30s I got down to 10 stone 10 (I'm 5' 11"though seem to have shrunk an inch now I'm in my 60s). I was size 10-12 and frankly that was very difficult to maintain. This time I'm aiming for a more comfortable and realistic 12-12.5 stone (about 80kg). I'll be a size 14ish then. I'd like to get into heavy weights more which will tighten things up. I've never liked cardio but currently at my weight I'm concentrating on walking more.

WhoKnowsWhatToDoWithThis · 22/04/2024 09:15

@mondaytosunday I'm a fan of lifting heavy weights 💪 and would definitely recommend it. I don't enjoy cardio, apart from walking, but I've been lifting consistently for about 9 years. It totally changed my posture, my body and my outlook on exercise ❤️

TrustPenguins · 22/04/2024 10:40

No loss here either.

Still 9 stone 8 lbs.
Target weight is 9 stone 5 lbs - by 25th May!

StickyStones · 22/04/2024 10:46

Hi all,

Great to hear so much fantastic progress. This weekend wasn't a total blowout for me but I don't think I was in a deficit Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I did hours and hours of gardening on Saturday and Sunday which hopefully burnt off some calories. Feeling a bit stiff from it all now...

Currently sipping on a kind of gross but kind of ok chocolate protein shake. I'm hoping this will keep me going for a few hours. I can't stop thinking about food though!😬

Yes if it wasn’t for the fact that I had naturally been 8.7 stone for so many years then I wouldn’t necessarily feel that I was above my healthy weight, though there is definitely some flabbiness and my mid-section and feel that this is unhealthy for me.

Just did a Monday morning weigh-in.
SW: 10.1
CW: 9.9 (and 3/4!)
TW: 9.0

So I’m down just over 1lb since my last post. But I wonder if it will go back up again this week. We will see.

I’m still keen to hear peoples meal plans. Thanks!

For me:
Breakast - coffee + 1 sugar and sweetened soya milk (too much sugar), Greek yoghurt, berries and a tsp cocoa powder, slice of homemade granary bread, butter and marmite

lunch - pea, leek and spinach soup, Callo lentil cakes with cream cheese, piece of 80% dark chocolate

dinner - aubergine lentil parmagiana and salad

snack: apple, nuts, celery and peanut butter, lentil cakes, cheddar

sparkling mineral water (lots)

Advice on my meal plan v welcome.

zebranotzeebra · 22/04/2024 12:23

@janeljl definitely relating on the cycle woes - ended up eating ice cream and cake over the weekend so glad I held off weighing. Amazingly when I stepped on the scales this morning I had maintained at 8 stone 8 so pretty chuffed with that.

Refocusing this week as it's now only three weeks until my wedding dress fitting eek!

@ElleDeeCB happy to share my meal plan for today though I should caveat it by saying I breastfeed my toddler so I'm always ravenous in the mornings and eat more than I would if I wasn't feeding!

Breakfast: natural yoghurt, granola, seeds and berries

Snack (aka second breakfast 😂): 1 slice seeded toast with PB and banana, hard boiled egg

Lunch: baked sweet potato with coleslaw, cheese and salad

Dinner: sausage pasta with homemade sauce - will add in lots of veg i.e. onions, mushrooms and courgette and I've bought some red lentil pasta to try as it's supposed to be higher protein

If I'm hungry mid afternoon or in the evening, I'll have some fruit.

I like the sound of your meal plan, it's the kind of food I enjoy while still being healthy!
