Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

My day has been good, just over on my calories (fast 800), loving intermittent fasting, 3 litres of water and a 6 mile walk after work. Didn’t make it to the gym unfortunately as my car is in the garage.

notzoe · 18/04/2024 23:18

Quick question for those who have already managed to lose a bit of weight - how long was it before people noticed? How much had you lost when people noticed?

I am too impatient.

StickyStones · 18/04/2024 23:23

@notzoe I've been on so many diets over the years and I find I generally don't start properly losing for a good number of weeks. It's headwrecking when you hear people losing 2kg in a week etc but that's never been the case for me. I lost 1lb last week and now it's back on again!

Trust in the process and remain consistent 90% of the time and you'll lose weight ❤️

kessiebird · 19/04/2024 06:26

Weigh in this morning. 1lb off. As long as it moves in the right direction 😊

SW 11st 4
CW 11st 1
GW 10st 6 (by July, 10st 10 by my holiday in 5 weeks will do me)

Made lunch to take to work and I'm out again so no chance of snacking.

HoneyMobster · 19/04/2024 06:48

@notzoe - it depends on how heavy you are to start I think. Normally about 7lbs I'd say as it goes from my face.

SW - 11 stone 4
CW - 9 stone 2.6 lbs
GW - 9 stone

Another 0.6 lbs off. Pleased with that ahead of the weekend. It's our wedding anniversary (23 years) on Sunday and we have dinner out and other nice things planned.

Menu today is Overnight Oats, prawn salad and chickpea curry and cauliflower rice. I have an hour of tennis booked before work this morning and yoga after work.

Gensola · 19/04/2024 08:18

@notzoe for me people only recently started noticing when I had lost almost a stone.
I started at 10 stone 5 and am currently 9 stone 6, my goal is 8 stone. I haven’t been below 9 stone in 4-5 years, so it will be a big moment for me to see an 8 on the scales / get below 120 pounds on the scales.

Beatrixslobber · 19/04/2024 08:21

@notzoe no idea but I’ve lost 10 lb in a fortnight and no one has noticed because to be fair I don’t think I look that different which is really annoying! Why do I still have a pot belly!

I’m just about to do my photos and measurements so hopefully I’ll see something when I compare them. Photos and measurements might be helpful for you?

Gensola · 19/04/2024 08:26

@Beatrixslobber wow that’s absolutely amazing, well done you!!!

Fluffywithteeth · 19/04/2024 08:45

Eeekkk!! Well I finally got the courage to get in the scales and I’m 72.6kg - and that’s a good week into my diet…. Even worse than I feared! Well at least I’ve started now …. So a loooonnnng way to go to get to 64kg

Beatrixslobber · 19/04/2024 08:47

@Gensola thank you.

Gensola · 19/04/2024 08:58

I’ve just weighed too and no change for me 😩 132 pounds again. I’m following the human being diet and it encourages 1 “treat meal” a week where you don’t count calories at all, I think that has held me back tbh as I’ve been weighing all my
food otherwise and stuck to 1200 cals and been on the gym 4 days plus 12,000 steps a day. Sigh.
my body is very stubborn about this 132/133 weight, it seems to be doing everything to keep me here.

StickyStones · 19/04/2024 10:54

It'll happen @Gensola . It's science! One cheat meal a week isn't going to spoil everything on you.

I'm off to weigh myself now as I forgot to when I got up this morning. Not really in the mood for undressing but there's no way I'm weighing myself fully dressed! even my watch comes off 😆

HoneyMobster · 19/04/2024 12:30

@StickyStones - make sure you have a wee as well. Every drop counts...

StickyStones · 19/04/2024 13:37

@HoneyMobster 😂I forgot to wee and I'm up 1lb on last week! won't make that mistake again...

The fluctuation and no weight loss happens to me every time I start a diet, nothing happens on the scales for about 3 weeks. I just need to be patient.

TrustPenguins · 19/04/2024 13:52

Oh yes, I weigh myself completely naked, after a wee and first thing in the morning before any food or drink!

Have maintained this week so far - 9 stone 8 lbs. Aiming to get to 9 stone 5 lbs by end of May.

themarina · 19/04/2024 13:56

I am following this thread and reading through the comments for ideas and motivation :)

HoneyMobster · 19/04/2024 14:00

I do think Happy Scale is useful for understanding the trend and fluctuations. So long as you stick to the same time of day and look at it week to week it does even out I think.

I read once that if you weigh yourself after a shower it shows a gain because you skin absorbs more water than you'd think!

Itdjgsurchg · 19/04/2024 15:10

2lbs off for me this week. Mainly trying to add in then take out- lots of walking, strength training and healthy fresh food with the odd treat.

boogalooshrimp · 19/04/2024 16:22

Weighed myself this morning, 2lbs off in 10 days so I am very pleased with that. The little voice in my head is telling me i've done well and made a good start so deserve a little treat but i will remain strong and resist.....

Exactly the same for me! I keep thinking I should have a Chinese takeaway tonight to celebrate but have got cod and salad instead.

FlutteryButterfly · 19/04/2024 18:39

Well done losers!

I've lost 1.5lbs this week, woo hoo. 1stone to go. I'm generally losing very slowly and occasionally plateau/gain a bit but then I'll get a woosh.

I'm doing fast and feast, works for me!

Good luck and enjoy your weekend

Bubbleswithsqueak · 19/04/2024 19:11

More conference carbs again today - potatoes and vegetables, and rice and vegetables. Lots of salad, and I managed without breakfast, so not disastrous. Will be interesting to see if I've lost anything when I get home cos I've been starving all week!
I am feeling simultaneously guilty and inspired by people who are managing to do proper actual exercise and manage food too...

CommeIlFaut · 19/04/2024 19:59

65.5kg on Sunday. 63.7kg this evening. Quite a lot was probably water and bloating but it’s not too bad for a week. I won’t be reweighing after the big bowl of DD’s homemade butter chicken I’m about to snarf!

FlutteryButterfly · 19/04/2024 20:22

@StickyStones my rings come off as do my earrings and any hair bobbles. I remove makeup , not that I wear inch thick foundation or anything. I weigh stark naked same day same time each week 😂 Sounds a bit obsessive but anything for the lightest reading.

Beatrixslobber · 20/04/2024 00:23

I was out for a family meal tonight. Ate double my calories and didn’t really even enjoy the food.
