Welcome one and all. Need a few online chums doing the same. No rules. Do it the way it suits and post as often as you like.
I'm currently trying to get from 65.0 kg to 60.kg and losing 1lb or 500g a week. (have come down from 69.1kg). I have a FitBit, and use the Happy Scales app and had planned to up my step count but the incessant rain is not helping. Doing 10 stomach crunches a day from TODAY. (165 cm / 5'5"). Very happy to have your company and steal your ideas and suggestions.

I’m 5’11 and 74kg which is the heaviest Iver ever been apart from full term. I have bulked my way up to this though (strength training and extra cals) from 60kg just over a year ago.
I want to lose 5-10kg so I can bulk again.
My partner is a nutritionalist/coach so he’s in charge and I’m on 1500-1700 cals and 130-150g protein. My calories are quite low but that’s because I just want to reduce my body fat as quick as possible while keeping as much of the muscle I’ve built.

Beatrixslobber · 16/04/2024 22:06

@ImBrian do you compete? Also how cool to live with a nutritionist. Maybe that’s what I need 😂

It’s so hard, isn’t it! I do like the saying, “CRAVING will only make me feel good for a minute, but GOAL will make me feel good for real.” So if you’re trying to get healthier, it would be, “Easter chocolate will only make me feel good for a minute, but getting healthier will make me feel good for real.”

Can I join too? I’d rather not say what I weigh as I’m embarrassed about how much I gained on steroids. And a lot of people in my life have said I shouldnt worry about it at this point, when I’m already so sick. But I want it to be easier to enjoy the little things I have left while I’m still here, like being able to go for a short walk with my friend, or being able to visit a botanical garden, even if it tires me out. My doctor is getting insurance approval (I’m not in the UK) so I can switch my medication to long-lasting and twice a day; right now, I have to eat four times a day with it, and that just seems to be a nightmare for me because I can’t do any kind of fasting, etc. which is a lot easier for me. I just need some support, instead of people telling me it’s not worth worrying about anymore.

How are you doing, have you had the better weather where you are and been able to enjoy some of the outdoor walks and gardens?
I fell off the wagon yesterday (chilli peanuts I'm looking at you...) but today was much better for making good choices and remembering the goal will feel better than the instant gratification.

Gensola · 17/04/2024 06:41

I did a reformer Pilates class last night - really enjoyed it so have signed up for a block. Tragically we are about to move house though and it seems the only Pilates in our new area is £££ so it may be a short lived thing 😄
weighing tomorrow morning having left a couple of days for the post-fine-dining bloat to pass.

Beatrixslobber · 17/04/2024 07:57

@Gensola I would love to try reformer Pilates but don’t have any locally.

mondaytosunday · 17/04/2024 08:46

5.9kg lost now. I know this rate will slow, but it's keeping me motivated! I have used MFP since 2015 and at my lowest in that time since (December 2017) was about 24kg lighter than I am today, which even then was far too heavy. My pattern has been I do great for three months, reach the milestone I was aiming for (usually for a trip), relax it while away, then find it really hard to get back on it when I return and weight slowly comes back on. Really need to break that cycle!
Eating really good whole foods, loads of veg, and eating only twice a day means my plate looks full and I feel full afterwards so not so tempted. Hope everyone else doing well!

Fluffywithteeth · 17/04/2024 10:29

Great to hear from everyone - the sun is shining (for about 2 mins!) and reminding me summer is coming and I won’t be able to hide under my big fleece!
have been going for a week. Can’t bring myself to weigh myself but my waist has gone from 90cm to 86.5cm . Will pluck up the courage to weigh myself in Friday I think. Got to know at some point what the damage is!

Beatrixslobber · 17/04/2024 11:32

@Fluffywithteeth the summer coming (one day) is my motivation. I have purchased a couple of cute summer dresses. They fit but would look nicer without the tummy.

I’m not opposite, I hate measuring and do it once a fortnight when I check in with my PT.

HoneyMobster · 17/04/2024 19:27

We have an all-inclusive booked in August - includes tennis, sailing, windsurfing etc. We've been before and I'm motivated to get in the best 'shape' I can be for it. If I'm fitter and feeling good about my body I know I'll enjoy it more.

Thinking about slightly reducing my GW to put it in the middle of the range for my height (5ft 3, 8 stone 12). Not sure how best to judge what's right for me.

Still losing, albeit slowly...

SW 11 stone 4
CW 9 stone 3.4
GW 9 stone

Fluffywithteeth · 17/04/2024 19:43

@HoneyMobster you’re doing brilliantly! You could get to 9 and then see how you feel?

@Beatrixslobber im really looking forward to not having to think about clothes - I can still fit into most things but just look so lumpy! At a lighter weight everything looks pretty much fine and I don’t have to out so much mental energy into it all

kessiebird · 17/04/2024 19:58

Slight dip in motivation. FIL asked us to eat out last night. Pub meal. Was so hungry, one giant lasagne and chips later... Led to a bad night's sleep and rushed morning. At least I was working put of the house or I'd have been snacking all day, due to tiredness. Just added cals to Nutracheck - 1600. Above goal but still a deficit. I'll take that

Holiday is five weeks tomorrow, still got 7lb loss in mind. 😎

Must be good tomorrow - weigh in Friday.

Bubbleswithsqueak · 17/04/2024 21:30

Conference food update - THERE WAS NONE!! Managed a sausage in the station at lunchtime, then somehow the conference organisers hadn't realised that people might want food before tomorrow, and it's in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
So dinner was half a bag of salted mixed nuts. Good job I brought some with me.
I guess I didn't eat beige rubbish...

Beatrixslobber · 17/04/2024 22:22

@Bubbleswithsqueak that’s awful!

@HoneyMobster how exciting! I’m desperate for a holiday but Dh and I can’t get our diaries to match up so maybe in 20 years?

Beatrixslobber · 17/04/2024 22:22

@kessiebird you can do it.

StickyStones · 17/04/2024 22:56

@Bubbleswithsqueak no conference food?! Does it officially start tomorrow? I hope they provide lunch!

I seem to have put my lb lost back on :(

The weekend seems to have undone all my good work. I've been back on it and eating ok:
2 x poached eggs
Porridge oats with full fat Greek yoghurt
Root veg curry and rice
Hot chocolate.
I think that's about 1200 calories...I'm not counting but I do keep an eye on it

Protein powder arrived today so I'll be using that to replacement a meal here and there

Keep up the good work everyone!

notzoe · 17/04/2024 23:08

Hope you don’t mind another joiner Grin

I have posted on another weight loss thread but would love to join this one too.

Currently I don’t have any scales but I just know I’m too big. So no real goal weight here (maybe an arbitrary number beginning with a 10 but as I don’t have any scales I’ll never know if I get there!)

I’m doing OMAD. Three days down and finding it surprisingly easy. I’m always rushing around in the morning so don’t naturally eat breakfast during the week then if I don’t take anything to work I’m already at 3pm by the time I get home so extending that to around 6/6.30 isn’t difficult at all. I’m then really enjoying my evening meal and that’s me for the day. My danger zone is 3pm-6pm usually anyway so cutting out everything during this time should really help.

Anyone else doing it this way?

Gensola · 18/04/2024 06:21

Food yesterday:
Breakfast: 100g yoghurt,50g kefir, 75g berries, 10g walnuts

lunch: coley fillet in spicy sauce with mixed bean salad, roast Mediterranean veg and 60g couscous

snacks: banana, 2 boiled egg, kombucha

dinner: lamb koftas with greens and chickpea salad, 1 x 0% beer

Did a gym workout in the AM and 12,000 steps.

Mum5net · 18/04/2024 11:31

Splendid! Three new joiners @justsaxy @ImBrian @notzoe numbers 55,56 & 57. Welcome. No rules. Post as often as you want. We will all be new versions of ourselves on July 1 (or the week before for some.) Sorry if I have missed anyone.

I AM STEADFAST, I AM STRONG

(DH came home from the supermarket last night with a bag of toffees that I love. I refused to have any. I know what they taste like, but I have eaten far, far too many of them over the years. WHAT A HERO I AM)

But in reality: day 4 of no sweets, no biscuits, no added sugar and of properly 16:8 fasting. I have also been in rowing machine x2, 1x yoga and 1x pilates so far this week.

Obviously I am now a shadow of my former self, fit and muscle bound with the eating habits of a healthy Instagram influencer.

(Well. I feel like I have more energy. It's a start.)

Beatrixslobber · 18/04/2024 11:43

@Hiddendoor my Dh is terrible for this although is getting better. Sadly he is very overweight so I secretly tell myself that this is why I’m not accepting his offer of various treats.
Obviously I would never tell him that.

StickyStones · 18/04/2024 12:03

@Hiddendoor it's not easy saying no to sweets, well done on holding your resolve.

@notzoe I've done my own version of OMAD years ago which allowed me to have a milky coffee in the morning. These I can't seem to hack it and I think the hanger isn't fair on my family 😂

Got out for a 4km run this morning and I'm hoping my food in-take will be ok as well.

So far I've had two coffees and I'm going to have a protein shake for lunch, dinner will be sweet potatoes baked with tamarind. It's an Anna Jones recipe that I've been meaning to try for ages.

justsaxy · 18/04/2024 18:04

I am having 2 eggs and a banana around 10am, a large salad and then protein with small serving of carbs (glucose goddess style of eating) but I have no choice as it's school lunches.
And then a small dinner in the evening (I usually don't want much).

And in bed by 8, as I am so tired.

I do have more energy during the day...

Am struggling to kick the chocolate biscuits in the afternoon, between 1:30-2:30. Bloody staff room is piled high with sugary treats, right next to the kettle. Have started drinking just water, but still have 2-3 biscuits a day. I need to kick that habit...

kessiebird · 18/04/2024 20:26

@Hiddendoor DH is shocking for bringing in rubbish. The latest is beef hula hoops, 2 days in a row. I've resisted tonight but not last night.

I got stuck at an event at work until 6.30pm with no food or water and I'd had lunch at 12! Lidl tikka samosa on the way home 270cals. I am at 1469 cals so 269 over! The samosa's fault and I blame work!

Bubbleswithsqueak · 18/04/2024 21:06

Some of these recipes are inspiring me!
Conference food update:
Managed to not eat breakfast
Lunch - potato cakes with potatoes. But loads of salad
Dinner - tomato pasta with loads of salads and some cheese.
V low on protein, so had to top up with some nuts and a piece of 90% chocoloate that I may have stashed in my suitcase...

Equivalent of the staff room biscuits/toffees/hula hoops are the pastries that go along with the coffee break, and I AM STRONG! (so far)
Will be pleased if I have maintained by Sunday.

Beatrixslobber · 18/04/2024 21:12

@justsaxy I struggle with the mountain of cakes that people bring in for our meetings. I used to smoke as well so started feeling double deprived! Then I realised that I want to look nice in my bikini this summer and that smoking is disgusting so I think of that instead of dribbling over the cakes 😂
Although I don’t think that it would work with @Bubbleswithsqueak’s pastries!
