Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

PMSL at the link sparkler, very good. As my consultant would say, what are you going to change this week?

[polishing halo smiley] I managed my meal out on 3 syns!!!!

Had prawn cocktail starter, ate the non-dressing covered salad off it and picked the prawns out and left the rest, so say 1 syns worth of sauce.

Tuna nicoise main course - to be honest it wasn't very nice but it stuck me to the plan. HEb jacket potato (no butter, wow) and the dressing was pure balsamic vinegar no oil I think, so jus 1 syn for 7 olives in itm, or if there was oil hiding in there it could be my other HEb.

dessert.... what dessert?!!?! NONE!!! Just a small cappucino which I had a HEa left for, so being very over cautious in allowing 1 syn for choc sprinkles and if either the sauce or olives were a bit higher than I thought.

drank diet coke.

Not bad eh?? [did I mention the halo smiley???]

I am SOOO chuffed. Am really looing forward to seeing what mischief I can get up to with the 56 syns I have left for the weekend!!

(lurker runs off to count how many tia marias 56 syns will buy her, sneaking past the wino thread on the way, it will be the weekend!!)

SWlurker · 11/04/2008 07:21

Rise and shine everybody Do I win for being the last up and first up too?? lol, bloomin' work, got so much to do I had to come in early today, but I have enough syns in the bank to look forward to a nice relaxing weekend.

Is everybody set up for today? I am having green, have fruit, yoghurt and cous cous with "bits" in set up for today at work.

Furball · 11/04/2008 07:36

I'm up!

today for lunch - baked beans and jacket spud

tea - huge rissotto

HE minced beef
onion
garlic
cupful of rice - (for 3 people)
tin toms
tom puree
handful of lentils
mushrooms
spoonful of bovril
peppers
and anything you fancy

fry mince, microwave chopped onion for 2.5 mins, then chuck it all in a big pan - add 1/2 pint of water (you also need to check whilst cooking it doesn't dry out) Cook in pan for 45 mins or so

serve spinkled with HE cheese - scrummy!

BouncingTurtle · 11/04/2008 07:57

I slept in!! Ds woke me up at 1am and 3am wanting feeding, but he then woke up at 5am, and I was not happy, I actually went back to sleep and so did he! I guess he wasn't that hungry!! I woke up at 6.45 and he woke up another 15 mins later full of smiles!

Today I'm off to an Outlet Centre, going to meet my friend who is also doing SW but at a different group, we are going to Spud-u-like for lunch, the only place I know that actually offers cottage cheese as an option - I don't like baked beans!
Then it is Quorn sausages, mash and peas for tea
That link was very good Sparkler!
SWLurker - well done for resisting temptation, you made some excellent choices there. Did you have a good time?

yes thank you we had a great time, and I don't think anybody noticed I was being good and desperately sticking to the diet if they did they'd probably try to get me to have a night off! but I ordered "tuna steak" rather than "salad" (can't pronounce nicoise-wotsit!) which I think slyly helped .

OK lettuce (sorry, I just can't help it! ) have a plan for the wine. Would you rather have a little of something you really enjoy, or more of something else? e.g. lots of spirits and a diet mixers are 2 1/2 syns (25ml) - Does Vodka/Barcardi/rum/whiskey/gin and diet coke, soda water or slimline tonic tempt you?
If its got to be wine, a large glass of wine will set you back 6 syns, small 4. Decide now, be determined and plan plan plan!

(lurker inspires herself to try whiskey and diet coke and to AVOID synful smirnoff ice)

Some lovely sounding recipies I will try at the weekend. Good to see so many posts!

I could have done with that Syn-ner's confessional thread last week, Sparkler

Lurker, well done on last night. You must be really pleased with yourself and now you can enjoy your syns at the weekend. Yayyyyy!!!!

I'm doing a green day today. Ryvita crispbreads (HE b) with L'cow light (HE a) and a banana for breakfast. Bunged some baked potatoes in the slow cooker this morning, they should be ready for lunchtime to have with baked beans and low fat grated cheese (HE b). That should hopefully fill me up until dinner time tonight. Was going to have veg roast and SW chips. But think I might do a Quorn curry with rice (and maybe even a few SW chips too!). I haven't tried the Quorn chicken pieces before (they're my "try something new" today)....and I am still abstaining from the alcohol today despite it being the weekend!

grinningbee · 11/04/2008 15:05

I've had a couple of really good days so far .

First day back on the wagon was two slices of wholemeal toast with 4 extra light cheese triangles, and a nice tea of home made burgers (less than 10% fat mince) with loads of chopped veggies cooked in a tin of tomatoes and two more slices of wholemeal bread.

Yesterday was weetabix for brekky, couscous for lunch, and a massive pasta bake for tea.

Got it again today 'cos there was sooooo much!

Sitting here with tummy cramps (good ole star week) and wanting wine and chocolate. Actually, it's more wine than chocolate!

What I need to do is find a nice vegetable soup recipe that's sin free so I can take it in a flask when I'm on the market stall.

Anyone have a good recipe?

SWlurker · 11/04/2008 15:50

I like good old fashioned leek and potato soup. Erm, leeks, potato, onion and a veg stock cube - a pot of soup for 1 syn! Or how about tomato and basil (use passata to make it nice and thick and add a little salt & sweetener), or sweetcorn soup - tin of creamed sweetcorn or if not then a tin of ordinary stuff and blend it, chilli, finely chopped onion and chuck spring onions in last minute. "Chicken" noodle - Quorn chicken pieces, packet of low fat supernoodles broken up small, tin of sweetcorn and choped chilli. Carrot and corriander? minestrone?

I am happily stuffed on cous cous. going to "treat" myself to a WW cottage pie in a bit (HEb) and that'll be me for tonight (having stern words with herself over last week's 14 inch drunken pizza glitch)

ellideb · 11/04/2008 16:05

Hello everyone can i join? I used to do slimming world last year but fell off the wagon, i am now preggers and gained half a stone in the first 10 weeks but mainly because i felt so ill i couldn't do my usual exercise and just ate what i could stomach, but, no excuses now.!

i'm now in my second trimester and feel like taking charge of my eating again, and control of the inevitable weight gain so that i don't have too much to lose afterwards! I've increased my HEa to 3 a day though so that I'm geting enough calcium.

anyone else done SW whilst up the duff?

Haylo · 11/04/2008 17:50

Hello again -- update from my first day yesterday, it was awful, everything conspired against me to fall off the wagon on my first day !!!

l stuck to the plan though, even though l didn't get my dinner (huge green day veg lasagne and jacket pot) until 10pm because to top the day off DS fell off his chair at dinner time and split his head and lip open.

....but if l hear that bl**dy icecream van come around our road again today ....

ps - today has been fine though, far less stressful. Can recommend the tinned apricots and muller vanilla yog smoothie

BouncingTurtle · 11/04/2008 18:15

Welcome Ellie - and congrats on your pg! When are you due?

Haylo - your poor ds! Is he okay?

I went to Spudulike and had my cottage cheese and jacket spud and it was lovely. I also had a vanilla latte as well as a treat

WallOfSilence · 11/04/2008 19:50

SWlurker, you did fantastic when eating out last night!!!

You should be so proud of yourself girl!!

All those soups you have posted sound delicious too

Today I have had fruit salad for breakfast, scan bran with LCL & grapes on top with fruit salad for lunch, an apple & a banana.

DH is cooking dinner at the minute, pasta with a tomato, bacon, pepper, onion, garlic & mushroom sauce. I am starving... so much so I have just broken a piece off dds cadbury easter egg & scoffed it It was only a wee tiny piece, honest!! !!

ellideb · 11/04/2008 20:48

Thanks Bouncingturtle! Due 15th sept

where is spudulike? sounds tasty! I had a jacket potato n cottage cheese today also, yummy on a green day!

BouncingTurtle · 11/04/2008 21:13

The one I went to is up in Wearside. They are a change, albeit a small one.

Haylo · 11/04/2008 21:58

Yes Bouncingturtle he was fine thankyou, more shocked than injured, just a bruised bottom lip today, but he fell asleep straight after it happened so l rang NHS direct for some advice on whether to keep him awake etc, l had to wait for a call back, hence not wanting to eat anything until l knew everything was ok and he was tucked up in (my) bed.
Better day today, weetabix, left over veg lasagne, apricot smoothie, banana, ryvitas with onion cottage cheese and a huge bowl of raspberries with another banana and a muller yoghurt. Still enough syns (after sugar and salad cream) for a glass of wine ? or do l save them for borough market tommorrow ?

BouncingTurtle · 12/04/2008 08:18

Just realised my last post made no sense... I meant they are a CHAIN not a CHANGE!

Haylo - glad to see your little man is ok
And you've had a good day!

toadette · 12/04/2008 10:43

Hi all, welcome ellideb

I have been sticking to the plan well as far as the food goes. But opened a bottle of wine last night...just couldn't resist having some with dinner. Stayed within my syns allowance so I'll not be too hard on myself. We're out tonight and I have allocated myself up to 50 syns and my daily HE's to make sure I can eat well and maybe have a couple of glasses of wine. I have enough to cover this from the last few days unused syns together with my plan to eat very few syns between tomorrow and weigh-in on Tuesday. My psychology is that if I have plenty of syns to spend then I won't go the "sod it I've blown it now" route and cave in to all the wrong foods.

Have had an orange and a cup of tea for breakfast, planning a lunch that will be FREE foods only, maybe a nice salad.

Have a good day everyone. Glad your ds is ok, haylo

Furball · 12/04/2008 11:41

Been out for a 5km run this morning and have a nice lamb curry in the slow cooker for tea. can't quite believe it's only a few syns as it's soooo scrummy.

Must stop eating baked beans, all bran and loads of fruit on the same day though - must have a lost a couple of pounds on that alone!

Bought some All Bran Honey and Oats bars which you can have as a HE - far nicer than a hi fi bar.

Keep at it

toadette · 12/04/2008 11:45

Another runner, great, Furball! I'm heading out this afternoon for a run. Off to get some groceries in now.

SWlurker · 12/04/2008 12:02

Hello elliedeb!

You runners sound too healthy! I should go for one later on, will see if the hangover has shifted...

I had about 30 syns on my might out so have 20 ish left for the rest of the weekend. wish my friend didn't buy me a magners and a smirnoff ice though that bumped them up

somehow I bought a 12" subway... but its still here, uneaten, maybe I had partially healthy intentions in the haze of 2am???

WallOfSilence · 12/04/2008 12:57

Ohh yum @ subway... I am starving.

Am working on my dissertation & getting nowhere fast...my lunch is 2 hard boiled eggs suddenly seems non appetising when faced with a subway.

BIN IT!!!

Otherwise you will heat it up later & eat it! It's for your own benefit

SWlurker · 12/04/2008 13:04

oops!

WallOfSilence · 12/04/2008 13:07

Have you eaten it????
