Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

letus (why do I always want to call you lettuce? lol!) Wow 4lbs is brilliant well done and keep it up. I might have to try your "curry" it sounds nice.

I'm a bit nervous about today, just because its red. I had veg sticks with tuna dip on way into work ( yes I know that was weird), think I'll chop some apples and bananas and have them with yoghurt for a mid morning snack.

SWlurker · 10/04/2008 09:42

Furball, thats brilliant with the chocolate, well done. I did paul mckenna diet ages ago and made one square of chocolate last 20 minutes and that sorted my craving, so good on you girl I know it does work but it takes a willpower of steel!

Nowadays I am an all or nothing girl when it comes to chocolate - I try not to eat it at all these days because when I do I just get into a craving spiral. It seems that even choc and orange hifi bars set me off these days, good job I had my 2nd HEb and a hot chocolate to sort it out

toadette · 10/04/2008 11:50

Well done on the 4lbs, letuseatcake

SWlurker, don't be nervous about the red day, embrace the change

I have had 2 slices lean bacon (all fat removed as per SW rules), egg and mushrooms with a mug of coffee for breakfast. Going to have big fresh fruit salad and yoghurt for lunch. Dinner will be rocket salad with smoked salmon, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. I might use a balsamic dressing which I think is 1 syn per tbsp. I spent a fair bit more than usual on our shopping this week so that I'm tempted to cook from scratch every day and cut out any processed food and takeaway. Oh and NO wine again today. Unbelievable but I have lost 2lbs already since Tuesday following the small changes I have put in place. I know it's mainly water but if it shows on the scales I'm happy enough.

Good luck for WI, furball.

SWlurker · 10/04/2008 12:39

Why am I so worried about feeling ill or hungry today?! Just had my leftover veg and quorn stew so suitably stuffed but am feeling a bit of a carb craving coming on. since I am stuffed at the mo I am fine, and hopefully since I haven't eaten too much meat (yet) I won't feel sick because I'm not used to meat. I have got to save my HEs for tonight so am droooling waiting for 7pm when I can have a HEb jacket potato with my dinner. Trying to resist the urge to cheat and swap the other B for a garlic ciabatta! and as for puddings [bewildered face] if its anything like last time the work crowd are going to put a lot of pressure on me to have one if they all are (its unbelievable, but I was stuffed last time we went out but because they knew I was on a diet they honestly did put a lot of pressure on me to have one - I gave in and am still annoyed about that situation!) I am going to try a lot harder to say no, but if worst comes to worst I will have one and eat 1/2 of it. There's no healthy choices, which is annoying

Sparkler · 10/04/2008 15:16

Weigh in night tonight. Haven't been 100% good foodwise but have done loads of excercise so am hoping that will have helped a little.
Just had my hair cut shorter too so maybe that could be a pound of two off??? Just off to cut my toe nails now as well - every little helps.

Good luck for WI, Sparkler

SWlurker, could you order a fish dish instead of meat if you want to stick to red? Or if you really don't want to have meat/fish then go green for tonight's meal (mix2match?). All the best for resisting the pudding, I know it's so difficult when there are diet saboteurs about. I feel we are sort of in the same place at the moment seeing as we went a bit off-plan for a week or two (maybe three in my case) - I think we just need a good week to get us back into it, we're in this together!

Bouncingturtle · 10/04/2008 16:25

Good luck Sparkler!

SWLurker - have fun tonight and stay strong!!

SWlurker · 10/04/2008 17:27

Toadette - I think we are in secret synchronisation! Well hopefully you're as on track as I feel, I think if I can just do a few weeks on the straight and narrow then I will have got rid of bad habits. Or should I say WE??

So far so good still for today - I have eaten 5 apples though (they're only tiny though). Getting a bit peckish now but still got loads of work to do before I go for meal, but if I get time there's a tesco on the way so I might pop in for a tub of cottage cheese and pineapple on route. I love eating it out of the tub and it should help stop me picking at syns like bread at the restaurant!

Funny you should say fish, I have seen the menu and picked tuna nicoise salad as my main course. can't decide on starter but might have prawns (after seeing some LOVELY tiger prawns in the supermarket but groaning at the price!) Have a feeling quite a lot of the food is going to have hidden syns like cooked in fat or in a dressing (must ask for that on the side) but I am going to try to keep the syns as down as possible, but if the worst comes to the worst I can do it in 15 syns and still be a very happy lurker!

Have a good evening everyone - have good wholesome healthy food and enjoy it!

(Toadette I saw you on the wino thread, keep your mitts off that bottle (its mine) )

toadette · 10/04/2008 18:19

Don't forget you can count olive oil as a HE 'b' so you might be able to use that to offset the salad dressing. Enjoy your meal!

Lol re wino thread, thought it was very apt for me. I looked back over my last few weeks I was mortified to see how many of my weekly syns were being spent on wine, at 6 syns a glass no wonder! So have decided to go the "not on a school night" route for a few weeks to see how it goes. That's my only grumble with slimming world, its not very wino-friendly

Furball · 10/04/2008 20:34

Woohoo! - lost 3 1/2 lbs - got slimmer of the week.

WallOfSilence · 10/04/2008 21:00

Hi all

I'm having a not too bad day so far!

I had kiwi & pineapple for brekkie (was in a hurry so was shoved in & not really enjoyed....

Lunch was an apple (had lectures all day)

Dinner was a beautiful stir fry made with mini chicken fillets, green peppers, red chillis, onions, carrots, mushrooms, garlic & some soy sauce. We had it with noodles.

It was mde with fry light & my dad & my brother called over with my car & as I was just chopping the veg at the time I chopped a bit more & they stayed for dinner! My brother loved it!!

WallOfSilence · 10/04/2008 21:01

X-posts Furball!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo!!!

What are your tips to lose so much in one week?

Will you share them?

What was your fave meal this week?

Bouncingturtle · 10/04/2008 21:16

Ooh congrats Furball!

WoS - Phily light - 2 syns per 28g. My consultant told me you can have 85g as a HeA.

Furball · 10/04/2008 21:37

I've only been doing it 2 weeks! so hardly an expert.

But, what helps me is meal planning, both lunch and dinner and shop so you've got it. know what you are going to the cupboard for.

Remember alot of naughty stuff looks better than it tastes and it's not worth it. Personally I'm going for the quicker picture of end goal weight. I don't want to delay it anymore than possible.

Furball · 10/04/2008 21:42

fav meal was

aubergine
courgette
mushroom
tin tomatoes
onion
garlic
HE chicken

all boiled up for 45 mins or so served on mountain of pasta

HE1 cheese sprinkled on top.

Furball · 10/04/2008 21:44

I've also not had any puddings - just fruit or yoghurt even when serving up hot chocolate pudding and cream

toadette · 10/04/2008 21:46

Hi all, well done to Furball - that's a great loss

I had managed to stick to free foods and HE's all day except for 2 syns for salad dressing. But was picking dd up from birthday party this evening and had a very small slice of birthday cake. Does anyone know how I should syn this? I really hope it does't bring me over my daily allowance.

WallOfSilence · 10/04/2008 22:09

A wee slab piece of b'day cake should be fine! I'd count it as a muffin or a bun or something....

I have just had my other HEB Hifi bar

Thanks for the info on phili!! Might try some tomorrow, will weigh it out & put it in a tub to take to work! I love it with grapes, the bitterness of the phili with the sweetness of grapes.

I love grapes with cottage cheese too, inside wholemeal bread... yummy!!

Think I will buy cod tomorrow & make those sw fishcakes for Sat evening to have with either wedges or sw chips! Anyone tried them yet?

toadette · 10/04/2008 22:18

Haven't tried the fishcakes yet, WoS. D'ya reckon 7 syns would be about right for the cake then?

Think I'm going to have a green day tomorrow and have some SW chips and a veg roast for dinner. Red day on Saturday again - we are going out for an Indian meal so will go easy on the rice and go for the tandoori etc. Plan then is to alternate green/red until weigh-in.

WallOfSilence · 10/04/2008 22:34

7 sounds about right.

I'd rather over guesstimate than lower!

A lady at my class last night got her 4 stone award!! & she's been going less time than me!!

She looks well on it. She says she has another 4 to go, but I reckon she doesn't have 4 more to lose!

It's amazing the inspiration in your own group, isn't it?

Sparkler · 10/04/2008 22:50

Oh sodding arse poo! Put on a pound. So much for all the flippin' exercise I've tortured myself with this week.

Maybe you could come on here & post every day this week to keep motivation up?
