Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

Congrats Sparkler!

I haven't done too bad I think this weekend, but think I've used all my syns up for the week. Hey ho, onlyh 2 more days to weigh in!

SWlurker · 07/04/2008 08:46

Well done on all the losses last week (bit belated seeing as its a new week but ho hum)

Will somebody please MAKE me go to class tomorrow night?? I'll be V embarassed about it (I have not been good and have not stepped on a set of scales for 2 weeks)but I NEED to get back on track!

I need to write a thousand lines for staying to plan at weekends too . Dreadful weekend. I've just measured my milk allowance for today and am going have two weetabix in a second. Have started filling out food diary - they definitely help.

SWlurker - You have to go to group tomorrow night. You may not get the weigh in that you would like but staying to group will defintely motivate you for the week ahead. If you don't go, you'll never do it and the weight will creep on. Go on!

...........don't the weeks come round quickly? I can't believe it's only another four nights til I get weighed again.

thank you, any one else who wants to kick me up the bum is more than welcome... I know they won't be nasty they're a lovely lot, its more that I haven't been going to this class long and so may be heavier than when I started!

I do mainly green but I do find red easier to find a SW friendly option for. I think its because most places sell steak and think they're being really nice to you by adding lots of cream and cheese to the pasta dishes

kid · 07/04/2008 09:20

I am starting back again today, I followed SW for ages and then it went a bit peared shape. I weighed in yesterday and have gained 2lb since I last weighed in, not too bad at all!

But, I have a holiday in about 10 weeks so I have to stick to it now.

SWlurker · 07/04/2008 09:23

oops I meant to say there I was talking about meals out!

If anyone is interested, if you have a farmfoods near you the quorn stuff is really cheap if you buy it there. Mine had 6 sausages for £1.25, and if you look closer they also had 8 sausages in the bags anlo for £1.25 and some lovely flavours too.

Also I did my shop on Friday night and following a salad sampling lady at asda discovered a new SW friendly salad. Watercress, chopped up fresh mint, red onion halved and sliced finely and balsamic vinegar. Then I added some... quorn sausages! and a HEa of cheddar cheese. Suprisingly lovely tasting and very healthy!

Bouncingturtle · 07/04/2008 10:43

That sounds lovely SW. And you will go to class... just think if you didn't go this week and then went next, you will be even worse! Or you might not go back at all!
We've all been there, and you never know you might surprise yourself
Will have to look for a Farm Foods near me then... have you had the Pork and Bramley Apple style sausages, they are lovely!

SWlurker · 07/04/2008 10:59

No but I will try them now! the ones farmfoods had in were lamb and corriander style and spinach and gorgonzola - never seen them anywhere else and I must admit I didn't check syns, but the spinach ones are really nice.

Bouncingturtle · 07/04/2008 11:32

I think I have had the spinach ones and I'm sure they are free, they were really nice.

sugarlumps · 07/04/2008 12:40

hello everyone! well i've not been on here for a good couple of weeks, and thats not becuase ive fallen off the wagon lol.
my internet has been down and i've been really ill, i havent however weight myself for about a week, but i know i havent gained as my clothes are still loose!
right im off back to bed as im still quite rough.
chow for now!

SWlurker · 07/04/2008 13:15

Glad to hear you haven't fallen off sugarlumps, get better soon x

SWlurker · 07/04/2008 15:50

Me again - think I'm glued onto here(keeps me on track maybe? )

I am a bit addicted to 1/2 tin spaghetti and 1/2 tin baked beans mixed together at the moment - I'm sure I used to do this as a kid, its proper comfort food! Ah well, its free, even tho I did have green fry up with beans for breakfast so won't be good company this evening

Bouncingturtle · 07/04/2008 21:31

Made a huge chicken stew, and froze a portion for another day. Must make some more scan bran cakes though to nibble on!

SWlurker · 07/04/2008 22:10

Snap, I made a huge veg stew

SWlurker · 08/04/2008 08:55

BT please can you post the recipe?

Judgement time tonight - first WI for 3 weeks! oh well at least my "fat" trousers still have extra space in them.

Furball · 08/04/2008 09:00

I'm going to do the pasta ratatouille recipe from the mag with added chicken as HE for tea tonight.

kid · 08/04/2008 09:04

I didn't do very well starting back on SW on Monday, this morning had got off to a bad start too as I have stuffed loads of biscuits.

I suppose the best thing to do would be sensible for the rest of the day and start tomorrow. No need to completely blow it today but too late to worry about doing SW! I always have an excuse
I won't be laughing when my holiday clothes don't fit me though.

SWlurker · 08/04/2008 09:28

Just a thought for those of us who like our weekends a bit too much or

SWlurker · 08/04/2008 09:35

oops didn't mean to post that! What I meant was for those of us who like our weekends a bit too much or who believe in the weigh-in night "twilight zone" but want better loss, I have just drawn up an A3 food diary with a few extras - all 7 pages on one side, an extra column for exercise/body magic, and two sub total boxes on each syns bit, so I can see how many syns I had each day and the running total for the week. Because I've done it Monday to Sunday (rather than weds to tues because I WI on Tues night) hopefully no twilight zone snacking for me tues night, because I have to log it, and hopefully I'll have more motivation to save syns for the weekend

By my reckoning yesterday was 3 1/2 syns (good job I counted I thought I'd only had 1 - little blighters crept in!) - 66 1/2 remaining this week, as I'm trying to stick to 70.

Bouncingturtle · 08/04/2008 09:43

Scan Bran cake
Syns for whole cake - 12

Ingredients
1 Weetabix (3)
4 Scan Bran (2)
2 tbsp mincemeat (4)
½ tsp mixed spice
½ tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp honey (3)
3 eggs
½ cup sweetener

Soften the Scan Bran in a little hot water and mash up. Crumble in the Weetabix and stir in the spices, mincemeat, honey and sweetener.
Whisk the eggs and add to the mixture. Stir well and pour into a cake tin.
Bake at 180°C, Gas Mark 4, for 25-30 minutes.

Here we go!
I divide the mixture amongst 12 fairy cake cases rather than using a cake tin.
EAch cake is then 1 syn each - easy peasy

Oh, and they make you go

toadette · 08/04/2008 11:06

Um...veered off-plan yet again at the weekend. HELP! Only getting back into it today but that's because it's weigh-in day, yikes

I have fallen back into my old trap of losing a few pounds, clothes feel looser...think I can eat and drink everything in sight without regaining it all. Of course it doesn't work out that way and it goes bak on again within a few weeks. Feel I need to start from scratch again this week and be as virtuous as I would be on week one on a plan. I need MOTIVATION, peptalks welcome

toadette · 08/04/2008 11:10

Good idea about running diary from a different day, SWlurker. If I started Sunday to Saturday and saved my syns up for Fri/Sat perhaps that would work better. Also NO twilight zone this week, those days are over....turns over a new leaf [hopeful emoticon]
