Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

urgh I have been ill since friday morning so completely indulged in crisps and whatever I could actually face eating, which generally was probably pretty high in syns because I really couldn't fancy cooking any of the free food I had in I don't understand why I can stick to it really well one week and then let it all go so badly the next. I only had to lose 1 1/2 lbs this week to get 1/2 stone sticker.

So today and tomorrow I am going to try to be supergood, just started the day with cereal and milk A & B, have got the salad stuff with me that I was supposed to have at the weekend. Still not too well though, so worried i'll feel sorry for myself and go for a pastie or something at lunch MUST NOT!

Hi to new people

Hello - may I join you? Have had to come back to SW after the birth of DS3 (14 months ago!) buit still feeding him and I couldn't lose any weight at all with DS2 when I was feeding him.

Not sure if I will lose much but I need to start eating healthily again. I do green days as we are veggie. I've made a good start so far

Furball · 21/04/2008 11:38

Hi Tommy - Welcome! I'm fairly new myself - I'm on week 4.

It's nic to have a sw thread to swap ideas/menus etc

toadette · 21/04/2008 12:43

Hi all, welcome tommy

I haven't been online much the last few days and I haven't been sticking to the diet plan, oh dear! I haven't been eating TOO much but have not been food optimising so don't know where I stand in terms of tomorrow's weigh-in. I didn't meal plan as much this week and that has been a factor. It's also totm so have turned into carb-addict. (Lurker, really identified with your post about being so good one week, only to stray offplan so much the next!). I really wanted to lose half a pound at least this week to get my half stone award. Not sure how much damage limitaion can be done before tomorrow night. I have been walking quite a bit so hoping that may balance things out. Sorry for the rant, just really annoyed with myself that I couldn't find the self-discipline and motivation I had last week.

leedslassy · 21/04/2008 15:39

HI - can I join please?

Both me and DH are doing SW and have been doing so for about 6 weeks. Had a rocky start and dh still not got into it but it's weight day tonight so fingers crossed. I have lost 8 pounds up to last week - only 49 to go to get to target!!!!!

Furball · 21/04/2008 15:54

Furball · 21/04/2008 16:29

Furball · 21/04/2008 16:29

sarz · 21/04/2008 16:57

thank you fur ball, that looks great! I have been doing sw for a couple of weeks now, and i cant believe how easy it is, I did WW once and i was so so hungry!

hectich1979 · 21/04/2008 17:12

Well day one and so far so good.

porridge and banana and cup of tea for breakfast

half fat grated cheese salad and a mullerlight for dinner

2 apples and an orange when I got home

Been drinking loads of sugar free squash throughout the day (don't like water!)
Not sure what to have for tea going to have a look now. Will do 45 mins tae bo dvd tonight aswell.

mum2sons · 21/04/2008 17:28

I did the prawn curry in the SW magazine this month and it was yummy!

Am hungry at the moment though and have stuffed my face all day (eaten 4 jacket potatoes, a tub of 1% fat cottage cheese, 2 fat free natural yogs with bananas cut up in them..big tubs! and a few muller light yogs and strawberries!! ) I am BFing a v hungry baby at the mo and that doesnt help. Cant wait til tea time!!!

Yesterday I TURNED DOWN chocolate cake!! Unheard of for me. I need to lose 4 stone though ..

WallOfSilence · 21/04/2008 17:31

Hi everyone

Welcome to all the new names

I had a nibbly day yesterday but I shall blame my husband!! He baked flapjacks & other wee oaty biscuits.. the mad man!

And then I had a bag of wotsits before bed

Today I've been OK. breakfast was an orange, lunch was a salad at uni with ham [heB], lettuce, cucumber, beetroot, red onion & pineapple.

Dinner is cooking at the min & I am having a pork chop [heB] and pasta with a tomato sauce with mozarella [heA] over it.

I have cooked enough pasta to have for lunch time tomorrow too so that's that sorted!!

Hi everyone

On a red day today so far i've had

pears and satsumas for breakfast
3 ryvita with 4 laughing cow triangles, 2 slice ham and another pear
roast lamb with cabbage, raosted butternut squash and roast beetroot.

will have a mullerlight in a minute

It look angelic but i'm saving syns and He so that I can have a cadburys caramel bar when the kids are in bed tonight. Ds got it in his easter egg but he doesn't like it and said 'you have it mummy' . Think I'll be ok with having it as I went to the gym this morning and dis 15 miles on the exercise bike plus weights.

I have 3.5 lb to go until target and WI is tomorrow night. Seems really hard to lose these last few pounds and i'll still only just be in the healthy bmi for my weight when i get there. Am thinking of treating myself to a set of 6 personal training sessions at the gym but it's £130 for 6 X 30 min sessions. Not sure if I can justify it as it's the same cost as a weeks camping with the kids.

nikkid21 · 21/04/2008 17:51

Have just worked out that SW has cost £117 for meetings alone since I joined without the hi fi bars and magazines. That seems good value for a (almost)2 stone weightloss compared to lighter life etc.

toadette · 21/04/2008 18:56

Hmm, still not finding it easy today. Will have to see what happens on scales tomorrow night. It has definitely come down to lack of preparation and not having enough free foods to hand for snack attacks.

Will report WI tomorrow night and hopefully have regained my motivation.

Hi to new people

sticktoit · 21/04/2008 19:28

Hi all

weighed in and lost 3lbs.....I was doing the paul mckenna thing before this so it strictly isn't my 'first week' so not bad I suppose.

Onwards and upwards now!! Just had a very garlicky spag bol for tea made with passata not ragu will be stinkin for days!

Have a huge chocolate craving tonight but trying to make it go away with grapes!

Hi to new peeps! Good luck

WallOfSilence · 21/04/2008 19:47

Well done sticktoit!!!!

If I were you I would have the bloody chocolate!! If you can't have a treat on weigh-in night then when can you??

Lumley · 21/04/2008 21:19

Thanks for the words of encouragement folks. Wish I'd read then earlier on today then I might have been more positive - wouldn't dare tell you what I ate far too embarassing. Will have to work extra hard until Thursday. Good slimming everyone.

How bad is Malibu?

I still want to do well, but its a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, I NEED HELPPPP!

Furball · 22/04/2008 07:05

I went for a curry last night - did research before hand and thought I'd have chick pea dahl (3.5 syns)with boiled rice and if they didn't have that I'd have bombay potatoes (11 syns)

Everything fine, had half a poppadom, no blooming chock pea dahl on the menu! ended up with some sort of lentil thing, that I don't think had anything untoward in, but you never know. so fingers crossed. I didn't choose the bombay pots as sometimes they are sooo hot. But I did nick some of someone elses and they were lovely, so next time I'll have that and then I'll know where I am.

SWlurker · 22/04/2008 08:26

Ahh loads of new people hurrah!

Had a reasonable day yesterday. 5 syns I think. After WI tonight I am going to pull my socks up, as have not had a very good week.

Kid - malibu isn't too bad, just looked it up, its 2.5 syns for 25ml (but watch out most pubs serve 35ml measures).

just seen tia maria - I have been counting it as 2.5 per 25ml since all eternity (I spend most of my weekly syns on tia maria or wine at the weekends) - and its actually 3.5 per 25ml! Thats quite a lot of extra syns I've been having without realising! Back to the drawing board to fins a lower syn spirit...

babyjjbaby · 22/04/2008 08:51

hi every1 i have started slimming world agin yesterday but doing it at home cos i can't afford the classes i was on it the other week but find it real hard when we ain't got much money but gonna try again and try and lose half a stone lol

sticktoit · 22/04/2008 13:40

Oh no, went out for lunch this afternoon and had a beefeater. Tried to be good by ordering marinated chicken and new pots but they brought it with chips by mistake - which of course I ate. We then went down the beach and i ended up eating my DD's vanilla ice cream in a cone as she was so busy throwing pebbles!!

I've estimated the chips as 10 syns as it was only a small portion and I'm on a green, used the chicken as a HEb but no idea on the ice cream.

Oh well, I enjoyed it so will just be good for the rest of today!
