Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

Oh mother of jehova! Is it any wonder they call them heart attack subs??? Christ girl, what's that translated into syns?

I was right opposite a subway today at the other office & the smell coming from it made me smile to myself about your sub!

Good luck for WI tonight, both to you & toadette

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 15:34

Thanks WoS, your version sounds v.nice. Think I'll give it a go cos I love fruit. Guess everyone has foods they don't like to eat - mine just happens to be healthy!

toadette · 15/04/2008 15:46

I'm sooooo hungry, waaaaahhh!

WoS, I have my book here but can't find the couscous listed.

WallOfSilence · 15/04/2008 15:48

Aw poor toady... can't you have a few grapes or strawbs? What time is weigh in tonight? I'm lucky in that mine starts at 5.45 so I can nip down right after work & dh will have dinner made when I get home

I have my book here too & it's not in it either!

toadette · 15/04/2008 15:53

Must be free then

It's at 5.30 so not so bad but I get paranoid on WI day, try not to eat after a very early and light lunch (a last ditch attempt to cancel out the rest of the week's misdemeanours)!

SWlurker · 15/04/2008 15:57

Oh and sticktoit stop torturing yourself! My very good friend and SW consultant lost 4 stone without touching salad, she hates it too! She always makes a point of saying that to new people. There's enough other stuff to choose from then salad. Do you like any fruit or vegetables?

Furball · 15/04/2008 15:57

if you don't like salad - what about making your own coleslaw?

grate 1/2 onion, 1/4 white cabbage
and 1 or 2 carrots add spoonful of vey low fat mayo (1 syn) and your HE1 1oz of cheddar Mix it all up and enjoy. Lovely, and sooooo much better than shop bought!

toadette · 15/04/2008 15:59

Good luck for WI, lurker, glad it worked out ok with your friend

BouncingTurtle · 15/04/2008 16:37

Sticktoit - Fellow salad hater over here.
I make a green day salad with pasta, kraft fat free dressing (syn free, there is a French one or an Italian one to choose from), pickled onions, sweetcorn, carrot, couple of slices of thins sliced ham (1/2 syn per slice) and cheese (HeA).

BouncingTurtle · 15/04/2008 16:38

I'm going to express some milk now, that should help take off a couple of ounces! DS has just fallen asleep now the little tinker, so I'll have to feed him when he wakes up, hope he doesn't make me too late for class!

WallOfSilence · 15/04/2008 17:39

OOOh Toady will be at class now

Dh has made a pot of soup for tonight. It's full of veg & lentils with some chicken Chicken counts as a HEb and I have potatoes in mine to fill me up a bit

Will have fruit salad for afters, pineapples are 89p each in tesco at minute

BouncingTurtle · 15/04/2008 18:13

I maintained! I'm happy with this tbh, but will make this week very challenging!

WallOfSilence · 15/04/2008 18:15

Well done BT!!

Is SWlurker's WI tonight too?

mum2sons · 15/04/2008 19:04

Have been invited by Bouncing Turtle! Hallo!
I have just joined SW and lost 4.5lbs in my 1st week woohoo!
Have 4-5 stone to go
Have just had DS3 in January and am BFing so can have extra syns apparantly. My WI day is Thursday.

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 19:27

Thanks for the tips for salad....Glad I'm not the only salad dodger!

toadette · 15/04/2008 20:30

Hi to mum2sons

Thanks WoS, think I must have caught some of those weight loss vibes as I stood in weigh-in queue because I lost......3.5 lbs. HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 20:39

Hi toadette - well done on 3.5....how did you do that!!

Totally new to this, this is my first proper day on it, think i've done ok.

Did you manage to pick up the password? I didn't know about it until today or is it different for every group?

toadette · 15/04/2008 20:44

Hi sticktoit, I kept a food diary meticulously and cut down on the bread (think I only had one slice all week!). Exercised more than usual, tried to walk everyday. I ate really well, used all my HE's and my syns so I didn't feel deprived. Am sooo happy as I had been a bit sloppy about the rules for the last few weeks and the scales had started to creep up a bit.

This thread really helped too

toadette · 15/04/2008 20:47

How did you get on, SWlurker?

Forgot to post the password, sticktoit, it is cycling.

BouncingTurtle · 15/04/2008 20:50

Mumto2boys - Hello! You get extra healthy extras and are recommended to have your full 15 syns a day, you should have been given a leaflet about it to tell you how many extra HE you get - it depends on the age of your baby and if you are exbf. I would say that you should be having the same as me - 4 healthy extras, one of which should be an A choice. Unfortunately someone picked up my book after I left it at class and I haven't seen her to get it back off her as yet.

mum2sons · 15/04/2008 21:14

Hi Bouncing Turtle,

Our consultant said an extra healthy extra and to use all 15 syns if BFing. I got the leaflet but I cannot remember what it says. I feel really determined as I am sooo podgy.
I have a very sweet tooth and have been having raspberries, 2 mullerlights and a crushed up merangue in a bowl to ease my sugar cravings and apparantly tis only 3 syns!!

WallOfSilence · 15/04/2008 22:17

Oh Toadette well done!!!! Bloody good going girl!! All the exercise paid off dividends!

I have been craving crisps all week.. but I am going to allow myself a bag tomorrow night after WI.

Have a huge bowl of chopped up pineapple here, it's a speed food so I shall finish it & hit the sack!

Dh is on nights this week & I get lonely & want to eat if I stay up.. even if I just go to bed & watch TV, at least I am not eating!!

Am supposed to be doing dissertation.. but can't concentrate!

SWlurker · 15/04/2008 22:58

Well done toadette. Aren't we brilliant when we sort ourselves out? I got 3 lbs off. Jaw nearly hit the ground!

Furball · 16/04/2008 07:00

Blimey - you two (SWL and Toadette)! worrying about WI then both lose 3.5 and 3 lbs !! fantastic!

BouncingTurtle · 16/04/2008 07:04

Toadette & SWLurker - fantastic!!!
Keep up the good work
