Right. It's a fresh start for me. I've joined Slimming World for the 5th time back in August of last year. Didn't do too badly up until Christmas but since then I've been dreadful.
Just had my weigh in tonight and had a huge weight again over two weeks - missed weigh in last week. The small amount of weight I have lost since August last year is very quickly creeping back on again and I have to do something about it now.
Tomorrow is my new start. I have my food diary at the ready.

morning girlys! i cant get motivavted to lose at all at the momennt so im going to try to maintain until june im 10.13lb which to be honest is an acheivement for me in inteself, but come june im going to hit the plan hard and try to lose another half a stone by the end of august! i dont want to get there too quickly as i know as soon as i get down to 10.6 i will start eating 2normally2 again and then i will have put it all back on by y holiday!
im quite happy with how i am at the moment tho, i even went out in shorts on saturday night

SWlurker · 14/04/2008 11:38

Hi everyone

Yes I did eat the subway. It was a footlong meatball marinara and I enjoyed every one of the 5 million syns that it contained For those of you who don't know subway - DON'T INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO IT!!! its baaaaaaad for SW.

The only consolation was that I was... ahem, ill both saturday and sunday,(completely self inflicted between 10pm and 2am both nights) and the only other thing I ate all weekend was 1/2 a bowl of pasta with pesto Saturday eve (which isn't tooooo synful, at least not compared to subway)and 1/2 a bowl plain pasta sunday night!
A well and truly liquid diet this weekend.

I guess I've had about 80 syns this week not including the subway. I am still hopeful for 1lb or so loss because I was SO good during the week. I'm in trousers the next size down today anyway, and they fit better than they did when I bought them on Friday, but I can't decide if thats just because I am empty!!

off to the confessional thread!

toadette · 14/04/2008 12:51

Hi all, welcome to lumley

Have stayed within the 'weekly syns' budget so far and weigh in tomorrow night. Plan is not to eat any bread or carby foods before then so I'm on a red day today. Yoghurt for breakfast and prawn salad for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet. Going for a walk hopefully later too.

SWlurker · 14/04/2008 16:48

Turns out being upset is the best cure for eating too much. I fell out badly with my housemate yesterday and she is still upset at me, and I think I might have to move out I was a very stupid drunk person. I am really upset at myself. I can't work out exactly how angry she is at me. Result is I would normally have had breakfast lunch and two snacks by now and I have only had a tiny lunch. Don't think I'll stomach much tea either. I know its really bad when I'm not binge eating but can't face food! I really hope everything will be ok between us and I can look back at this laughing because I managed a huge loss this week. Although starving myself might make body go into starvation mode instead

Sorry, big self pity mode at the moment. can anyone spare a hug for a pathetic person?

toadette · 14/04/2008 17:18

Awww lurker {{hug}}
Do you think if you had another apologetic chat with your housemate it would clear the air and salvage your friendship? I hope it works out ok.

On the food side of things...try to eat as healthily as you can manage at the moment. If your blood sugar's so low it's in your boots then you'll feel even more miserable.

Toadette x

SWlurker · 14/04/2008 18:04

Oh dear I don't want to turn this into an agony aunt column, have just deleted a big long reply!! Will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

toadette · 14/04/2008 18:39

Hopefully things will get better over next few days, lurker x

I'm just about to go out for a walk as I'm feeling a bit snacky and I need to STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN!!!!

I have ended up doing a mix2match-y type day. Had yoghurt for breakfast, hifi bar for midmorning snack, then a very small prawn salad for lunch (so small that I had to have 7 Ryvita crispbreads and l'cow for an afternoon snack, oops - will use them as part of my HE's today!). Made sausages and champ (mashed potatoes and scallions/spring onions) for dinner. I had a bowl of champ and skipped the sausages.

BouncingTurtle · 14/04/2008 18:44

Oh poor SW hope you make it up with your friend.

BTW I have had one of those meatball marinaras (quite some time back I hasten to add!). It was faaaaabbbbbb!

Had pavlova today... it was yummy! Worth saving syns for!

WallOfSilence · 14/04/2008 21:19

Mmmmm I need to make champ now!

I had an OK'ish yesterday & today.

Today I had no brekkie (I slept in & had to be in uni for 9.15... made it there at 9.45!!

Had an apple & some water as a snack & then a banana a bit later on.

Went to my mum's house & had coffee with a rich tea biccy! Then she made dd & ds some chicken baps (white!!) So when ds didn't eat half of his I finished it off I had an apple & a plum as well.

For dinner I had potatoes, beans, egg & a grilled pork chop

Have had an orange too.

I WI on Wednesday night and it's TOTM so I hope to have something off.

SWlurker, wishing you the best of luck with your flatmate...is it anything a bunch of flowers or a box of chocs would go towards helping? Or how about writing her/him a letter? If all else fails, grovel????
You know where we are if you want to talk, don't worry about outpouring, that's what this thred is for, support, & if you need it because of feeling low then you'll get it

SWlurker · 14/04/2008 21:19

Oh. A very very silly SWlurker indeed. Put off going home until 8.30pm only to get upset and have it out... and its ok no problem at all.

Back to the loony bin methinks but thank you for your kind posts!

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 09:23

Hello

I joined slimming world last night and weigh so much more than i thought i did . Anyway, just reading through the books today. Tbh im finding it quite confusing at the moment but i know a lot of people that have lost a lot of weight on it so want to really give it a go.

I have been on the website but it's asking for a group password, how do i get that? do i need to get it from the group leader?

i've had two weetabix for breakfast, think i am on an 'original' day!

Thanks for any help, you all seem v.supportive here!

SWlurker · 15/04/2008 09:31

Hi sticktoit yes they are all very supportive on here (especially of hormonal fools like me )

Weetabix and milk is a great start, and counts as a health extra "A" and healthy extra "B" (HEa and HEb for short on here).

What else have you got planned to eat today?

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 09:56

I plan to have a ham sandwich for lunch using a 400g brown bread loaf with a bag of quavers and a muller light for a snack and then for tea a beef casserole with loads of veg. Lots of fruit in between also.

But i cant have potatos with tea can i as i will have used all of my HEbs??

What could i have as the other HEa?

sorry for Qs!

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 09:57

Not a whole 400g loaf of course!!!

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 09:58

oh - how many syns are in quavers? There is so much to remember on this !

SWlurker · 15/04/2008 10:49

Ham sandwich for lunch with 2 slices from a 400g loaf would use up your second Healthy Extra B choice. Pack it with loads of ham (and maybe chicken, hard boiled egg and salad?) - aim to fill up on the free foods. Can you manage without butter? If not don't forget that will have syns, or use a healthy extra A choice on some cream cheese to use instead (look in your book for what and how much).

your snack of mullerlight and fruit is great, and/or you could have some bits of cooked meat to nibble on. Quavars might be in your little book, have a look but I think they are 4 syns a bag so you sound like you'd be fine.

Your dinner sounds good - either use one syn on a stock cube (for the whole dish, so count 1/2 for your portion if its going to serve 2 of you) or bovril from the jar which is free. Becuase you will have used both HEb's you could use syns for the potato (6 syns for 6 small new potatoes with skins on or a small jacket potato) or how about mashing some swede, which would be free?

If you had quavars, 6 small new potatoes and half a stock cube your total syns for the day would be 10.5 syns, which is fine As for your healthy A's do you drink hot drinks you use milk in? or could you sprinkle some cheese on either your sandwich or stew?

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 10:55

Very helpful - thank you SWlurker.

I might use swede with tea sounds yum!!

toadette · 15/04/2008 12:50

Hi all. Welcome sticktoit

I am on weigh-in day rations and I am soooo hungry. Have had several cups of coffee, a slice of wholemeal toast and a yoghurt so far today.

BouncingTurtle · 15/04/2008 13:19

I have just eaten a scone... I'm soooo bad!

SWlurker · 15/04/2008 14:37

Some idiot colleage put a chocolate cake on my desk, didn't even ask! I decided to eat the icing but not the cake. Surely not more than 10 syns worth in that

kid · 15/04/2008 14:56

I tried to start back on SW last week but it didn't go as planned. I decided to start again yesterday and had a much better day. I do tend to weigh myself far too much though.

According to my scales, I have lost 3lb since Monday morning. Not likely as I ate all 3 meals yesterday and even had some syns. I don't know why I bother weighing myself but I just so it anyway.

Hopefully I can stick to it this time. I have 9 weeks until my holiday so must lose some weight (even if its just so I can put some on while away!)

sticktoit · 15/04/2008 15:16

Just wondered if anyway one else has an issue with salad like me???

I try so hard to like it but I just don't! I'm one of these people who picks anything healthy from their sandwich! I had a jacket potato in Morrisons yesterday and tried eating the side salad but I almost gagged, I just can't stand the texture or taste at all. Everyone likes salad - why not me!!

I bought the SW magazine last night and there are loads of lovely looking salads in it but I know I just wouldn't eat it.

Any tips on how to get over this?? My DP kindly told me it's a 'fat person' thing - nice.......

BouncingTurtle · 15/04/2008 15:20

Feck, just realised my period will probably be start on Saturday, if my normal 28 day cycle resumes. The WI before my last period started, I gained 0.5. Think I've been better this week food wise (despite the treats, I saved syns up for them), but I think I have put on. Still if I'm good I should lose next week, as did the WI after my period started, only problem is I'm off to Alton Towers!
However, plan is to follow the plan as normal up until Friday night - we are staying at a Premier Travel Inn in Uttoxter but not planning to get there unti late - we will be setting off after ds's normal bed time so he'll sleep the whole journey. Then we spending the day at Alton Towers, dinner there as well and then setting back again after ds's bedtime. So Sunday will be back home, so no excuse not to follow plan. The Monday is my birthday, so will be naughty then. Then back to the plan Tuesday! Going to try not to be too bad on Saturday, going to take some hifi bars with me, for snacks, and try to go for SW friendly options for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

SWlurker · 15/04/2008 15:21

For those of you who were drooling over my subway. I still daren't count the syns but the calories in my 12" meatball marinara are.....

1,040!

Bet you're not drooling now!

Thank GOD I was too stuffed to eat anything else apart from a small bowl of pasta in the evening!!

... and I need some serious luck for weigh in tonight!!

WallOfSilence · 15/04/2008 15:30

Hi

Sticktoit I hate salad too. But a good thing I found has been Tesco healthy Living salad dressing. I think it is free.. (I always count it as free as I'm sure I remember my sw consultant telling us it was free)It disguises the taste of plain lettuce

I also think you don't have to have lettuce... Shall I tell you my original day salads?

I have thick clices of roast beef, turkey, ham etc.. HE portion of cottage cheese/cheddar cheese, beetroot, sliced peaches, strawbs, grapes, hard boiled egg (sw have a recipe for coleslaw & pot salad that's not high in syns) & then I use some syns & have a few crisps on the side of the plate as a treat It's really filling!!

On a green day I do the same except I use sweetcorn & loads of pasta instead of the meats.

Does anyone have any idea of hoa many syns is in Tesco spicy couscous? I think it is free, but not very sure... have just ate half the tub for lunch as I got a get out of jail work early card
