As per the title! I just signed up. It starts 17th January. Anyone else?

Good to see you again @desperatehousewife2, you’ve done amazingly! I am going to keep going until June too, I have a family wedding end of May as my motivation.

Congratulations on your loss @Focalpoint, 23lb is fantastic, I’m thinking wistfully about signing up again, but I don’t think I can justify it for the last few lb. I will keep following the unofficial facebook group though, to try and feel involved.

Oh gosh I hear you @LittleGlowingOblong, you will never walk alone, but rest assured you will never snack alone either!! I’ve been a bit of a Martha too, work has been crazy and I haven’t kept up with the walking. I think those of us who beat ourselves up about being Marthas may well have perfectionist tendencies. We haven’t been perfect, but we’ve been so so much better than we were previously and deserve credit for that!

Ger is right that good can be the enemy of great, but great can be the enemy of good too, when it comes to perfectionistic self-sabotage!

Did anyone do the 10k? I did it yesterday. Glad to get it done. Legs were tired on the walk today!! Only thing was I felt a bit sick after it- don't think I had eaten enough. When I do it next round think I would add 300 cals that day.

Onehorsetown · 25/03/2024 19:37

Fantastic. It' must be a great feeling to do it. @periwinkle1234@periwinkle1234.
I won't be able to do it until after school holidays are over but I will definitely do it.

desperatehousewife2 · 25/03/2024 21:02

Yes, I did the 10km as well yesterday @periwinkle1234
Did anyone join the Facebook live last night? I didn’t but will watch the video on the BS page

I’ve been for 2 x 4 mile walks today. I’d love to be down as much as possible for the last official weigh in and ideally would have loved to see 9 on the scales again for Wednesday which would make it 2 stone exactly since I started. Realistically though it will be next week at least before that will happen, once I don’t launch myself at all the Easter eggs at the weekend!

mnawesome · 26/03/2024 06:09

So following the principles but not doing the programme, I have lost just 7lbs. I fell off a bit half way through and didn’t do the caveman diet and stopped logging daily and of course plateaued… but I’m happy enough on a (very) slow train. I try to do one hour of movement a day - the gym, a run or the walk. I have one of those exercise heart monitors and I’ve found it claims that my hour fast walking can burn as much if not more fat than a run. For me, I think the bs walk one of the most important parts of the programme.

D2d was 60kg and I’m 5kg away but I’m just in the healthy bmi and given I’m 49 I’m thinking if I can stay under 65 I’d be so pleased (started at 78kg). No way I would ever have done this without BS and delighted you’ve all done so well. I’ve kept the positive mindset I took from the first course and do try to keep an eye on the social media to remind me. I’ll definitely hop back on if I start to regain: it is nowhere near as effective doing it on your own!

I’m in clothes I wore on my honeymoon 20 years ago and determined to keep the weight off and enjoy getting back into summer clothes i thought I’d never wear again.

periwinkle1234 · 27/03/2024 07:54

Good for you @mnawesome

15lbs down for me. V happy with that. I've signed up to the next course- would like to lose at least 10lbs more.

Last video was a bit emotional. I wasn't expecting that.

Would be great to keep this thread going. Best of luck to everyone.

Astonetogo · 27/03/2024 08:06

Good to see you and well done @mnawesome! I am going to be following along without signing up too, although I might sign up again in September if I struggle.

Congrats on the weight loss @periwinkle1234, that’s how much I have lost too, and I can barely believe it! Bodyslims really does work.

To be completely honest, I haven’t weighed today though, because I was at a hen party at the weekend. Prosecco was drunk, pizza and cake were eaten, and I know I have put weight on. Hopefully it’s mostly water retention due to all the sugar, but still, I didn’t want to end with a gain. So, I am calling last Friday’s weigh-in of 15.5lb down as a victory, taking a break this week without going mad as next weekend will be Easter with cake etc too, and then I will get back on the 3 for 2 starting next Wednesday, to try and lose the last 5lb (or more accurately 8lbs now!) by the end of May.

Good luck everyone else with your final weigh-ins! Would love to hear how you get on x

Well done ladies, we made it !!

I was down 2.2lbs this week, the most I have lost in any one week, which brought me to half a lb below my goal weight of 125lbs.

Really happy with how it went, the weeks just flew by, I won't sign up for maintenance, hopefully I can manage it myself, I would now like to work on toning up, don't think I have that bikini body just yet.

Onehorsetown · 28/03/2024 10:57

Hi everyone.
Congratulations to you all on your results. 💐💐💐💐
I am down 1lb this week which I am delighted with as I have reached my D2D goal. I think Gerard advice about body dysmorphia applies to me. If I try on something I find myself bringing a size 10 and a size 12 as I really can't believe I am fitting in to a size 10. So I have gotten rid of most of my size 12 clothes as I don't want to go back up a size.
Good luck to anyone who is going again in April. I am hoping to continue with the 5/7 option to maintain.
I find myself missing checking in for the daily and nightly videos and the song of the day. It's funny how much it had become a part of my life. I will also miss the sway stretching with Sharon. I didn't do it everyday but I used to enjoy it. Also the positive whispers!
It really has been a great programme and one of the best things I have ever done for myself.

Deelouise77 · 30/03/2024 21:29

Well this is all very inspirational, I've signed up for the April course for the first time so now really positive after seeing this thread, well done everyone!

Bananaanplum · 01/04/2024 23:06

Despite some reservations I've bitten the bullet and booked myself on for round two starting in April! I'm listening to intuitive eating and wondering if is should try to move away from the scales a bit, not sure if this is also limiting belief/self sabotaging as feeling much more comfortable in my self and body and now doubting if I need/want to loose more. I still a little overweight BMI wise... I think I will try and take on some of the initiative eating principles though.

Also considering given up alcohol... Had a few drinks since the course finished and it's set of my skin condition (rosacea) badly... Perhaps my skin was looking so much better because of the lack of alcohol...

Lots of inspiration here. I am close to signing up for April course, just want to check where/how we log our calories. Can I use my preferred app to log my food then transfer the day's total to Bodyslims app or do Bodyslims have an app that you have to use for tracking and logging?

I used MFP to log my calories then used to put the total for each meal on the Bodyslims app. After a day or two it became easy to get the hang of it.

I am thinking of signing up for the next round; have a persistent 10 pounds I’m never able to keep off. Did you find it hard to stick to? Was the food plan restrictive? Thanks a mil

There is no food plan as such if you are on your first cycle. There's a 3 for 2 menu which is obligatory for the first 2 weeks for people who have already been on bodyslims but it is optional for 1st timers. There is also advice on what to eat and avoid in the 2nd seminar. I would recommend that you stick to this advice for best results and to avoid feeling hungry. Later in the programme there is a 2 week food challenge but it's also optional.
I found it easy enough to stick to it as I wasn't hungry and having a definite end date also helped me stay on track.

ConcussedPigeon · 11/04/2024 16:22

Hi - I'm also thinking of joining the April cohort. I'm just wondering if any of you could tell me what the main difference is to just doing MFP, or the WeightWatchers app for example? It's a lot of money, so just want to make sure I'm spending wisely (although I'm super inspired by all your losses!!).

Focalpoint · 11/04/2024 16:55

It is very similar diet / exercise to any other plan or programme. The difference is that it addresses the psychological issues of why most people don't usually stick to it for 7 days a week or stay consistent for 10 weeks.

frazzledandfragmented · 11/04/2024 19:52

Hope it's okay for me to jump on this thread to ask a couple of questions of those who have already been through the programme.

I understand walking is the only exercise they recommend but what if you're already exercising? Do they give any views on weights/gym etc?

If DH and I both want to do it, can we both join along together or would we need to be signed up individually? (Do they work out calories etc individually for you for example)

Thanks for any replies. Smile

As @Focalpoint says the psychological aspect is probably the difference but I found the seminars very informative and helpful.
I had done SW in the past and I thought this gave me a greater understanding of why certain foods were more likely to cause me to fail. So the calorie count was easier to maintain as I was eating the right food in those calories.
The seminars were also helpful in getting a greater understanding of why we self sabotage ourselves in ways we would never do to others. Knowing what was happening made it easier to recognise it and change it.
The daily and nightly videos, the song and the logging of calories and miles kept me engaged every day and I found it easier to stay focused and stay on track.
Gerard is very knowledgeable about what he does and if you do as he says you will be successful. Don't cut corners or do a pick and mix. Every day you have to listen to the morning video, listen to the song of the day, log your calories, log your miles and then listen to the night video. The positive whispers and sway stretching are optional but enjoyable too.

Walking is the only exercise if I remember correctly, you shouldn't be doing anything else. If you can't walk for medical reasons then one hour on a stationary bike is the next option and one hour of swimming is the 3rd option. But walking is the best option.
I have heard of people sharing the app but I don't know how that would work apart from listening to the seminars and daily videos. I think the calorie allowance varies depending on several factors and men are on a higher calorie allowance than women.
It would be expensive for a couple as an upfront amount, though I have spent similar amounts in the past on other diets without the same results.

Thanks @Onehorsetown and @Focalpoint.

I’m hoping I wouldn’t need to stop yoga as I find that very beneficial.

And does the 1 hour walk have to be in one go? Just thinking about logistics, as I have a long commute and just 30 mins for lunch!

Really hoping I can make this work 🤞

You really need to do the hour long walk in one session. There is a reason for this which he explains in the first seminar and also in later seminars, he explains how this helps reduce cravings through the production of endorphins.
I think the commitment to the hour long walk was the biggest challenge for me too. I really didn't think I would have the time between work, children, activities, housework etc. Everything else came first! But I decided I would give it my best and most days I did do the hour. I kept reminding myself that this was for only for 10 weeks and I was so unhappy with how I felt about my weight, only I could change it.
I can't see why yoga would be an issue but prioritise the walk.

ConcussedPigeon · 12/04/2024 21:53

Thank you, that’s super helpful 🙏
