I’m not sure, I haven’t done it before!
I just watched the turning left / turning right video though and feeling very motivated! 😃

Anyone going to take before and after photos? I don’t know if I dare!

Probably - but not in my underwear 😂

Might put on a dress that I can barely squeeze into, or just my usual jeans and then take one every 2 weeks or something. I'm not doing that weird zombie pose that everyone does either, with their arms out infront of them!😂(although not going to lie I have done this before, but when Google sends me - those do you remember this from 7yrs ago - I'm always like 'wtf was I thinking!haha).

I wouldn't be posting them but just for myself. To be honest though there's enough 'fat' pics from Christmas to remember my starting point!

periwinkle1234 · 15/01/2024 13:27

Best of luck everyone!! Does the logging start on Thursday then as opposed to Wednesday?

Gettingittogether · 15/01/2024 17:56

@periwinkle1234 I think so! Think we wait for the seminar Weds evening and then get going :-)

That’s a good idea, I’m definitely not doing an undies photo!! I’ll have to go digging for some old clothes that I hope to be able to fit into by March!

I’ve just done my first walk! It felt like a long time, even with an audiobook.

Also, my back hurt. I think I must have bad posture… must get that looked at.

OP posts:
Gettingittogether · 15/01/2024 23:35

@Astonetogo love audiobook, that's a good idea for the walks - listening to anything good? Always struggle with choosing on Audible - too much choice.

Astonetogo · 16/01/2024 13:31

@Gettingittogether I recommend the Radio 4 dramatisations of Sherlock Holmes short stories with Michael Williams and Clive Merrison, love them! And they’re about 45 mins each so fit nicely within walk-time!

OP posts:
Astonetogo · 16/01/2024 20:38

After doing so well yesterday, I ducked the walk today, and ate a toblerone 🙁.

From tomorrow onwards, this. must. not. happen. again!!!

I know there are at least 5 days over the next 10 weeks when I will be joining in with
social gatherings (including my own birthday and a wedding) and will have to just eat whatever is served by the host. I know I will go over my daily allowance on those days, so I am going to keep them in mind as treat days and be very strict with myself in between.

Having ‘dark’ thoughts- I think a part of me is a little bit scared of looking different? How I look now is not ideal but it is ‘safe’ and familiar, what if I can’t stick with ‘new’ slim me, it’s just something else for me to fail at. I feel a bit silly and foolish for trying to slim, even though my rational brain knows it’s sensible.
Hopefully this is just last minute jitters and
I wake up in a better mood tomorrow, raring to go! 🤞

@desperatehousewife2 if you buy the Fage 0% yoghurt and crush a meringue and berries into a portion that gives a very filling and delicious high protein, low cal Eton mess type of dessert. Alternatively for on the go I buy the Graham's protein yoghurts 180 calories in Supervalu or Tesco and they are really filling - if I'm at home I add chia seeds to them. Tesco also has delicious little protein balls from the Good 4U range that are almost a chocolate substitute with coffee and about 126 calories for the pack.
@Astonetogo definitely take photos - you'll be really surprised at your progress. You don't need to share them with anybody. Take them of your face and in leggings and a fitted top, same clothes /position and you'll be happy you did at the end.
Definitely start the walking and try to do it as soon as you can in the day, you'll realise at some point that you really like it 😊

desperatehousewife2 · 17/01/2024 18:35

Thanks @Onynx Unfortunately I find meringue nests waaaay too moreish and find it hard to stop at one. With the protein mousses I’ve found at Aldi I feel done after the one after dinner. Signals the end of the day’s eating. Must try the graham protein yogurts though, thanks for the tip. Don’t have a Tesco nearby and our SuperValu isn’t great but I’ll see if they have them. I do know they stock Sibly protein balls so might try one of this with a decaf coffee after dinner some times.

@Astonetogo I’m celebrating a Big Birthday at the end of the month, a few of us are going away for a night for dinner, cocktails etc. and some friends who can’t wake it are taking me out separately so not great timing! I feel really motivated right now so hopefully I will be motivated to make good choices when it comes to occasions like that.

Have watched part one of the seminar and an am half way through the second. Hope everyone else is doing ok on day 1!

PatootieLou · 17/01/2024 19:55

Hey all,
Lovely to find ye, I hope I can join you on this. I signed up a few weeks ago and ignored everything until today but I started ok. Kept in calories & did my walk so tick tick. I’m only halfway through the first seminar but he seems easy enough to listen to.

Astonetogo · 18/01/2024 13:35

Hi @PatootieLou! Well done for getting your walk in already! It’s going to have to be evening for me! I’ve also watched the first part of the seminar, looking forward to finishing it off and also watching Carla’s video tonight!

Well I ballsed up because thought the diet started today. So I didnt bother opening the app yesterday until the evening! Oh well.

I did my walk at lunch but I undercut it. Felt like I was walking ages but when I was back it was only 44minutes and I'd walked 2 miles, so will need to keep an eye on the time a bit more.

Breakfast for me was a banana and coffee.

Lunch: cucumber, tomato, a slice of sourdough bread (so filling compared to usual bread) and a poached egg (got my egg poacher machine out)

Watched first half of seminar - it is motivating.

What does everything think of the song?? Haha. Urgh it's gonna be 10 weeks of 'cheese' isn't it? Lol

periwinkle1234 · 18/01/2024 15:22

Just on the walk I downloaded the- map my walk app -as recommended on the Facebook group and its great. It tells you when you have done 1 mile etc.

mnawesome · 18/01/2024 16:26

Some days I couldn't do the songs, there are some really terrible ones in there... My husband is doing the 3 for 2 with me this week and I shared the playlist with him but he listened to it for an hour on his walk and is now slightly demented! They shared the list with us at the end of the last one, but recommend not ruining the surprise 😂

With the walks, it takes a bit of time to figure out the routes that will take around an hour (and you will need to keep adding on as you get faster!).

I find veggie omlettes a lifesaver, they can be very filling if you load them up with peppers and mushrooms.

Astonetogo · 18/01/2024 18:23

@Gettingittogether I think it’s definitely going to be cheese! However, fortunately I love cheesy music, haha. I wish we had it in the morning so could listen on my commute!

PatootieLou · 18/01/2024 20:13

@Gettingittogether you’re here today so just keep on going! Well done for starting

As for the song, I just eye rolled and moved on… if I played it and had that earworm going in my head, it might have driven me demented!

Got a walk in early, it was -5 when I got back, I had no idea, it didn’t feel that cold but maybe it made me go faster. food is going ok. I’m doing an omelette at lunch and variations of stir fries in evening. I find it hard to have too much choice at the beginning but I’m going to look at the 3 for 2 and see if there are any recipes I can use.

I’m a first timer, haven’t ever done anything like this before but I’m willing to go all in. Have nearly 2 stone to lose. Obviously not in 10 weeks but hopefully well on the way

Astonetogo · 19/01/2024 21:27

Happy weekend everyone!
Well, I finally took my ‘start’ photo today @Gettingittogether @Onynx — yuk! I hope I never look this way again.

I’ve got a family birthday party tomorrow, so I am going to be doing extra walking to try and offset the birthday cake.

I took my pics.....it was a - omg this is much worse than I realised type moment.😂

I also tried on some different too small clothes and took pics.

DH ordered a treadmill too. Just from Amazon. It's a cheap one but works fine, used it tonight as I wound up with a meeting over lunch and DH is out tonight, so can't leave the kids to go out for a walk! So I think it will be handy.

I did go over my cals today though (not by loads) a slice of bread with dinner tipped me over!

I'm aching from the walks....how unfit am I?haha.

Zanatdy · 20/01/2024 07:04

Hello ladies, good luck with this. I’m not following this particular plan but on my own diet. Re the walking. I walk inside too in winter. So I can do 15-20k steps just walking up and down my living room. Been doing that a few years. I just browse the web when doing it, watch TV etc. Beats walking in the cold and dark. I do walk outside too as I’m in a walking group, so today will do 5 miles outside but same outcome walking indoors steps wise but is more interesting on a country walk. Good luck all

Gettingittogether · 20/01/2024 20:01

Urgh, am I skinny yet? Feel like I should be by now 😂

Gettingittogether · 21/01/2024 09:07

I've found a hack. I'm a coffee/tea drinker. Have minimum 2 mugs of coffee every morning. I'm also a 'have to have sugar in it' type of person.

I have a flask I take on my commute, circa 600ml's, which I realised equates to about 2 mugs of coffee. So this morning I did a flask of coffee and took a mug with me back to bed. Had 2 cups of coffee but only had to use the usual amount of sugar that I would for one mug - it tasted exactly the same.

So saved myself about 50 calories. Given the amount of coffee/tea I drink this adds up. My 2 mugs of coffees come to 100 calories.... The flask method brought that down to 50 cals.

Thought I'd share for anyone else who drinks multiple milky drinks and takes sugar in their coffee. Going to be using my commuting flask at home.

P.s a large cupboard mug is roughly 350ml.

PatootieLou · 21/01/2024 19:51

That’s a good discovery. Every calorie counts… I really never realised just how much crap I was randomly eating so trying to stretch the allowance is tough.

Astonetogo · 22/01/2024 22:22

One more day, and we’ll have done our first week, folks! #hanginthere
