Well done, thats amazing.

I'm Down 1.6lbs, started and stopped the 2 week diet, but had already cut out bread, rice and pasta and nothing sugary since the beginning of the programme. Might try the grapefruit for the coming week.

Onehorsetown · 06/03/2024 09:33

Congratulations on your results ladies 💐
Mixed bag today for me.
Down 1.5lbs, broke that 10 stone milestone, I haven't been below 10 stone since 2007. So I should be over the moon.
Yet I feel strangely deflated. I think I feel a bit disappointed because I was hitting 1 to 1.5 most weeks anyway, so the tough week of the caveman diet didn't really seem to do anything extra. The silly part of it was that I was hoping to lose 2lbs, which would have brought me to my original goal weight, so I am only a half lb off.
I stuck to the caveman diet pretty well, but I did forget to take the 2nd half of the the grapefruit a couple of days. Watching the daily video today he said those who hadn't been following the ABCs were probably the ones who would have the biggest loss, but I suppose as I have lost 17.5lbs in following the ABCs I need to acknowledge my achievement and, in reality, I never thought when I started that I would drop below 10 stone so anything I lose from now to week 10 is a bonus.
I probably won't stay on the caveman diet this week, I found it too dry and monotonous, but I will continue with eating grapefruit which I really like now!

Focalpoint · 06/03/2024 09:38

Hi - Can I join you? I followed the new diet and lost 6 pounds this week, so 20 in total. Had been steady 2 to 2.5 pounds a week for the first 6 weeks. Max weekly loss has been 3 pounds up to now, so new diet def worked for me. Found i was way under cals on it most days.

champagneblanc · 06/03/2024 09:41

Well done, onehorsetown, thats amazing to get to that milestone. I know what you mean about the expectation of a bigger weightloss when you have made a big change in diet, I only managed the caveman diet for a few days and then quit. I haven't watched the video yet, but it sounds like he is saying, in other words, the caveman diet is really only significant for those who weren't following the ABC's in the first place.

Have to gear myself up for the marathon seminar now. 😁

Wow, that is a fantastic result. Congratulations. I am delighted to hear it worked for others, 6lbs is phenomenal.

Onehorsetown · 06/03/2024 09:47

My biggest week of loss was week 1 when I lost 7lbs,before I started the ABC, so I suppose it shows that it really is a 10 week plan and it is the end result that matters. We are all heading the right direction anyway 😁

Astonetogo · 09/03/2024 11:19

I was brave and took some photos today (I didn’t in week 5) … and I can see a definite difference!!

I am so happy, and feeling rekindled motivation to keep going. Colleague gave me a creme egg yesterday and I so very nearly ate it, but I held off and I’m so glad I did.

3.5lb loss will take me to my initial target of a stone’s down, and I really hope I can do that by the end of the course.

Then I’ll just need to knock another 5lb off to reach my D2D.

I really see the change in my clothes. Instead of being a very tight size 12 they are now quite loose, even baggy. I will try to go shopping early next week to try on something for the clothes challenge.

Astonetogo · 13/03/2024 06:42

Hello everyone, can’t believe we’ve reached week 9, and there’s just one more seminar and two more weigh-ins left!
I’m down 2.2lb this morning, had rather hoped for more, but I will take this result, I have been a bit lax on the walking if I am completely honest. Another step in the right direction at least!
I’m looking forward to a broader diet for sure, but I’m keeping the grapefruit as discovering that has been a total silver lining to this 2-week miseryfest!

Well done @Astonetogo thats a good loss.

I am up by 1lb, missed a walk 1 day and have gone over my calories by about 200 on 3 days. I am finding that really disheartening and wonder if it is even possible to maintain the weight I am now, never mind the weight I want to be, so its looking unlikely that I could ever maintain my goal weight if I do get there.

Onehorsetown · 13/03/2024 07:11

Congratulations @Astonetogo@AstonetogoI'm down 1.5lb which I am happy with as I was out for mothers day and also, due to circumstances beyond my control, I couldn't do the hour walk every day, hitting 45 minutes on 3 days. So I am happy to have lost anything really. I am now past my goal weight of 138,and at 137.
I really can't believe that I reached my goal. It has almost become a way of life now so I am hopeful that I will be able to maintain.

Crossed post@champagneblancchampagne blanc. I think you are feeling similar to me last week. It's normal to have bad weeks, we all do. But don't give up on yourself, you wouldn't give up on someone you love.

champagneblanc · 13/03/2024 07:18

@Onehorsetown that is great you have passed your goal weigh, congrats.

I will keep at it for the coming two weeks, going to give it my all on the final run.

Bananaanplum · 13/03/2024 07:50

I'm down again this weekend after some more stagnation. Have hit the 10% mark ‼️ And thrilled. I didn't not follow the diet challenge as was already eating minimal bread/rice/ potatoes. It was also my birthday yesterday and I wanted a piece of my favourite cake... Bizarrely it was too sweat for me to even want to finish, which in itself Im taking as a massive NSV. I enjoyed my dinner of a huge plate of stir fried veg and fillet of salmon more. And in the morning we walked up a mountain in Wales so definitely got my steps in.

I'm still a good stone off my goal weight ( middle of my healthy BMI range) and trying to decide if I book for the next round of body slims or give myself a maintenance period for longer than four weeks to just let my body adjust. I should hopefully be at the top of a healthy BMI range by final weigh in which will be a 15% drop since January which is huge... I once red if you are planing on losing large amounts it can be wise to have breaks to let your body acclimatise to new set points... Not sure if that's a limiting belief though a scientifically sensible thing to do...

Focalpoint · 13/03/2024 08:06

Im down 1.3, so 7.3 in total for the 2 weeks of the challenge. Glad it is over but slightly nervous that ill continue to lose on the "normal" diet for the last 2 weeks. 2.9 more pounds to 10% in 10 weeks goal, which should be do-able.

Astonetogo · 13/03/2024 20:07

Aw I’m so sorry you’re disappointed @champagneblanc, don’t be hard on yourself, remember what Ger has said all along about non-linear weight loss. It could be hydration, digestion or your hormones affecting today’s result. I bet it will be a different story next week.

Huge congrats @Onehorsetown for reaching your goal, and @Bananaanplum for reaching 10%! I’m yet to achieve that, but hoping to get there next week or at least by the end of the course, similar to you @Focalpoint, it’s so inspiring hearing from those who have done it!

Oh my, here we are nearing the end - Seminar 10! 🥹 I can’t believe how the time has flown!

My weight loss has slowed down in the past week, probably my fault as I haven’t been walking. I’ve lost 1.6lb, which I am of course happy about but also very annoyed with as I’m just 0.2lb away from reaching my initial goal of losing a stone! I did actually hit the mark on Sunday, but I’m up slightly since then and only today’s weigh-in counts.

I’ve got a hen party at the weekend, so I’m a bit worried about managing to meet my target by next week. But, I’ve got my long walk all booked in and planned out for next Monday, so hopefully that will help.

I have a further 5.6lb to lose until I’m at my D2D weight, so I’m going to try and maintain current weight (143.4lb) until after Easter, and then power on by myself for 5 weeks to try and shed the last few lb. I have really enjoyed the course but it’s too much money to sign up for a second round.

Would love to hear how the rest of you are getting on 😊

champagneblanc · 20/03/2024 08:28

Well done, that’s great, the weeks flew by can’t believe we are in the final week.

I am down 2lbs this week, was a bit under the weather for 2 days and didn’t walk, didn’t have dinner either, so that probably helped. I just saw in my email I got a 1stone badge😀, I also have another 4 lbs to lose, won’t sign up for a second round, but really, really glad I did this course.

Onehorsetown · 20/03/2024 09:11

@champagneblanc
I could have written your post! I had a bad head cold over the weekend and missed 3 days of walking. I just couldn't face the rain.
I was dreading the scales today, convinced I was going to be up. I managed to lose 2lbs which I am over the moon with. I am just 1lb off my D2D goal of 134lbs, a total of 21lbs in 9 weeks. It went by so fast.
@Astonetogo I haven't planned the long walk yet. I will probably have to push it out until after the school holidays as I find it hard to get the time to get the hour of walking done when DC are off.
Congratulations to you both on your weight loss. I know the layout of 250 euro was a lot at the start, but I look on it as an investment in my health that has proved to be worth every penny.

periwinkle1234 · 20/03/2024 12:16

Well done everyone. Super successes. I hit the one stone mark today absolutely over the moon. I think I will sign up for the next course as I have another 10lb to lose and I think it will be good for maintenance also.

Astonetogo · 20/03/2024 18:24

Fantastic well done all @champagneblanc @Onehorsetown and @periwinkle1234 so great to read about everyone’s progress each week x

I’m about to settle down to watch the final seminar and feeling a bit sad about it! next Wednesday is going to feel weird without it.

Wondering how some of the earlier posters have found the journey @desperatehousewife2 @mnawesome @Onynx @LittleGlowingOblong are you still around? I hope you are all okay and feeling brilliant 😊

I’m so tired of feeling hungry, and feeling like a Martha! Typing this with a glass of wine in front of me.

I always do my weigh ins on Thursdays, I try to have good weekdays!

Focalpoint · 20/03/2024 20:40

Im down 1.5, 23 in total, still loads to go so have signed up for the next program.

desperatehousewife2 · 20/03/2024 22:54

Hi @Astonetogo and everyone!
I’ve been meaning to come back to this thread. I was only down half a pound this week but overall I’m down 22.5 pounds so very happy with that

I’m going to (try to) continue myself after the course finishes to get another stone down before we go away at the start of June. I dont think I’ll sign up for the next course but I’ll see how I get on for the next few weeks

It’s going to be a little strange not watching the videos etc every day.
