Hi @Bananaanplum 👋 I’ve been pleasantly surprised too, and Imm enjoying the walks much more than I expected (except when I have to do them in the dark - that’s still a drag!)
I did my hot day yesterday, and I am always hopping on and off the scales so this morning jumped on feeling hopeful. Only down 0.4lb since last Wednesday though, which was a blow. I’m going to try and stay off the scales now until Wednesday and just keep trying my best. I really want to lose a minimum of 1lb a week (ideally more).

Happy Birthday @desperatehousewife2 ! I understand your trepidation, I have a hen party coming up and I don’t know how I’m going to navigate that either. So far my plan is to do the walk early in the day, have a mocktail where possible and drink very very slowly, make good food choices without being a party pooper, and lots and lots of dancing as damage limitation to try and work off those calories!

Hope you have a lovely evening tonight!

Good luck everyone with the weigh-in!
I’m down by 1.8lb this week, 5lb exactly since starting. Quite motivating to look at that big 5lb lump of fat Ger waves around and thinking that’s what I’ve lost!
If I can manage 2 more lb next week I’ll be sown my half a stone, which I will be thrilled with. Motivated to keep going!!

@Astonetogo well done great weigh in result! I'm down 3.5lb this week taking me to around 5lb in total now too.
I agree that 5lb of fat is an incredible visual aid!

I can feel some extra space in some of my trouser waistbands which a great NSV and I can now fully pull up my smallest jeans that I own. Need a few more inches progress to do then up.

Had a terrible night's sleep so putting my walk off till after work. And packing some additional healthy snacks to take into work incase the exhaustion hunger hits later and ensuring I have a game plan to reduce the temptation of a quick chocolate fix.

Good luck with the rest of your day all we've got this! Keep up the consistency:-)

LittleGlowingOblong · 31/01/2024 07:04

I fell off the wagon a couple times this week - god, I was hungry - so didn’t lose anything… but still down 7lbs in aggregate! So I’m ok. Will pick myself up and get back on the programme.

I realise I started to watch Seminar 2, but broke off and forgot to go back to it.. :-/ Would anyone mind summarising the message in a couple of bullet points for me?

periwinkle1234 · 31/01/2024 07:51

Morning, down 1.5 so 6 in total. V happy. Like mentioned above can feel it in my waistband.

@LittleGlowingOblong the last seminar was about the ABC- avoid alcohol, bread and simple carbohydrates.

desperatehousewife2 · 31/01/2024 08:07

Well done everyone! I’m down 3 pounds exactly this week which makes it 5.6 in total. Happy with that!

Seeingadistance · 31/01/2024 13:45

I just found this thread. I’m not doing Body Slims, but came across Half of Carla on YouTube last week, and have been really impressed by her, and Ger!

Great to see you’re all doing so well! Very encouraging!

Astonetogo · 31/01/2024 18:06

This is really silly, but ever since Ger mentioned the Milk Tray Man, I have been dying for a box of Milk Tray!!

I’ve been so good and cut right back on sweet treats, but I’m getting intrusive thoughts about bloody Milk Tray!!

@periwinkle1234 oh, thank you periwinkle! I had seen that… there’s just so many, and they’re so long!

🙏🏼

Astonetogo · 07/02/2024 07:00

Good luck everyone! My scales have broken 😔 so will be using my old and less reliable ones today. Pretty annoyed about that!!

OP posts:
periwinkle1234 · 07/02/2024 07:35

Best of luck.
I'm down another 1 today so 7lbs in total. Happy with that :)

desperatehousewife2 · 07/02/2024 08:38

How annoying @Astonetogo ! Time to get a new one!
Good job @periwinkle1234 , half a stone gone in 3 weeks.
I’ve been quite sick for the last few days so missed the last couple of days walks but have been good in the food front and was down 3.6 pounds. So in total I’m down 9.2 since the 17th of Jan! Absolutely thrilled with that

LittleGlowingOblong · 07/02/2024 09:29

My scales are fluctuating so I’m going to go for another hot day and record it tomorrow morning. I’m wavering around the 14 stone mark, and determined to leave the number 14 behind forever!

desperatehousewife2 · 14/02/2024 10:37

Is everyone still getting on ok with this? I’m down a pound this week, which was only ok but I did have the night away at the weekend with lots of food and drink.

mnawesome · 14/02/2024 13:25

I'm trying to keep along on my own by following the main principles and looking at social media but I do miss the weekly seminars and I am definitely not being as strict with myself as I was first time around! I'm still managing to lose about 1.5 lbs a week though so I will keep going until the end. I just moved into healthy BMI this week - this time last year I was tipping into obese. My inital goal was just that - the healthy BMI so now I am going for mid BMI as the daretodream goal.

periwinkle1234 · 14/02/2024 14:17

Im down almost 10lbs in total. Hard work but great results. Am struggling a bit with 1200 call. Was much happier on 1300....

desperatehousewife2 · 14/02/2024 14:56

Amazing progress @mnawesome ! You must be delighted!

@periwinkle1234 i’ve lost the exact same amount so far. I’ve got 28lbs to go to my D2D. Not sure whether I will sign up for the April programme, I’ll see closer to the end of this one.

I’ve just watched some of the seminar. I’m Irish and I do wonder what non-Irish people make of him or do they spend half their time wondering what he means, he seems to use lots of colloquialisms and specifically Irish terms and references.

Onynx · 14/02/2024 23:20

@desperatehousewife2 one of my friends describes him as being like Christy Dignam's younger brother. Can't get it out of my head every time I see him.

champagneblanc · 15/02/2024 09:15

So happy I found you, I signed up for January too.

Have one and a half stone to lose, so far have lost 8lbs, have been religious about sticking to it and often even below the 1200 calories so I was hoping I would have lost more by this stage, but I'm still happy with having lost half a stone.

@desperatehousewife2 I am Irish too, my husband isn't, and he was interested in joining for the next one, but was totally put off when he listened to 10 minutes of Ger's seminar 😁 but then he thinks my family and I talk in tongues when we go back to Ireland, so it's not surprising he couldn't hack it.

As tedious as I find the seminars and I really do find it a struggle to get through them, whatever it is it works, I don't know if it's the daily check in that is keeping me on track or what, but I really am motivated to keep at it.

OMG, absolutely !!

Its the mouth and the teeth.

This describes him perfectly! I read this yesterday and didn’t get a chance to reply but this is now all I see when I’m watching his videos.

@champagneblanc i feel a bit like that too in that I was hoping I’d have lost a bit more at this stage. I’m a member of the unofficial BodySlims Facebook page and lots of people there have lost 1 + stones by now but maybe they have a lot more to lose.

It sounds like you don’t have a large amount to lose. Anyway if I hadn’t done BS I’d no doubt have put on more weight rather than lost the 10 pounds I have. If I lose 2 pounds this week and 2 pounds next week that will be 1 stone in 6 weeks which I would be absolutely delighted by.

periwinkle1234 · 21/02/2024 07:30

How is everyone getting on? Only half pound this week but the drop will come next week hopefully as I'm sticking to everything. Bit blocked up thou (tmi)! So that's playing a role.

champagneblanc · 21/02/2024 08:19

1.5 lb down, like you, I'm blocked too, was hoping for that elusive movement before I weighed this morning, but nothing happening. I started the seminar, first 15 minutes and it's the most engaging one so far.

champagneblanc · 21/02/2024 08:19

Half a pound down is the right direction still, well done.

desperatehousewife2 · 21/02/2024 08:39

Well done both of you. Hopefully the weight loss will catch up with you next week @periwinkle1234 as it sounds like you’ve been doing all the right things.
It certainly caught up with me this week, I lost 5.6 pounds!!? Like you I was a bit blocked up the last couple of weeks. So that’s 15.8 pounds since I started, I honestly can’t believe it!
I’ve still got 22 to go to the goal weight I set at the start but my D2D is prob about 6 pounds lower again.

I walked this week with the arms swinging, as if I were running and felt like a complete eejit but the road I walk on is really quiet so it wasn’t too bad. The difference it makes to pace is unreal though, I go much faster.

Looking forward to today’s seminar, I find them really inspiring. I know he can be a bit annoying and a bit of a waffler but he can be funny and hey, somethings obviously working!
