2 Stones Off By Easter- a thread for those with lots to lose in 2024.

RedDoughnut · 30/12/2023 20:42

The 2 Stones off by Christmas thread was pretty successful.
Hopefully this one will be just as useful.
The idea is that losing 2 stones is just the start. If you have a lot to lose then it can seem daunting so... small targets.

That said, to get 2 stones off by Easter then we need to lose a bit over
2 lbs per week so a bit of dedication is needed.
Start Date- January 1st but join when you can.

Weigh In Day - usually Monday but it's up to you.

For those that are coming from the original thread I think for the new thread we need to add an extra element. Self care! Anything you can add to help you feel a bit better. Skin care? Body Lotion? Flossing your teeth?
Just a little something in addition to watching what you eat.

Forgot to put my stats!

SW - 15 st 1lb as of Sunday
GW by Easter - 13 st 1 lb

Not going to fix an eventual goal. We'll see!

recklessgran · 02/01/2024 09:14

Morning all, day 1 went well for me.
I stuck to low carb 16:8 as planned with 2 high protein meals and one small snack.
I noticed a lot more loo visits and this morning a whopping 2lb loss which of course I know is fluid loss due to cutting out obvious carbs/sugar but even so it's very encouraging. I'm a daily weigher as I find it helps keep me motivated and on track.
I need to meal plan and shop for it in order to keep myself on track so that's my plan for today. I've got a bowl of hard boiled eggs in the fridge and am about to make some sugar free jelly [5 cals] to cover me if I crave something sweet.
Good luck with day 2 everyone!

StephanieSuperpowers · 02/01/2024 09:40

Well I hopped on the scales this morning for the first time in a couple of weeks and somehow I've been able to gain in the region of 10lbs. I expect some of it will come off quickly, but how is is humanly possible?

Satincat · 02/01/2024 10:12

Hi all! I'd love to join. I've put on 2 stone in 2 years and really want to get it off again! 2.5 stones would be ideal but 2 stones would be great.

Stats: 5'7", SW 12st 3lb, GW 10st 3lb.

It's great to have some company Smile Hope everyone has had a good first day!

CouldYouReallyBeArsed · 02/01/2024 10:27

Morning all, I'm signing up too. I'm overweight because I eat lots of shite and drink Diet Coke. So my immediate strategy is to stop doing both those things, and I can come to calorie counting etc down the line.

BritishDesiGirl · 02/01/2024 10:30

May I join?

Currently 3.5 months post partum

SW : 10st 12.5 lbs
GW : 10st

RhubarbAndMustard · 02/01/2024 10:44

I'd like to join too. Lost 1.5 stone on SW last year but have put it all back on again since September and more. I don't want to go back to SW as found it just very depressing and stressful each week so have started Slimpod to see if a more positive mindset change helps.

Weighed this morning SW 12.10. TW 10.10 age 43. Won't be weighing again for a while as that's the Slimpod way but if my jeans feel more comfortable I'll know I'm on the right track.

Planning to drink a big glass of water with every meal, eat far slower, think about what I'm eating and stop when full.

AH37 · 02/01/2024 11:00

SW: 14 st 11
Slightly shocked this morning to weigh in - heaviest I've been!

Gaggley · 02/01/2024 11:04

I'd like to join please, I've been looking for a group to join to help motivate me to stick to a weight loss plan.

SW: 14st 7
GW: 12st 5 (well would love to be more like 9stone but realistically this is the lowest I've been as an adult)

Gazelda · 02/01/2024 11:39

A day late, but jumping in today.

SW 16st 8.5lb
EW 14st7lb
GW 11st

Age 55
5'3

I'm going to use MFP and up my physical activity.

I'm going to Center Parcs at Easter and it would be fab to wear a swimsuit that I feel good in.

RagzRebooted · 02/01/2024 12:06

Managed to thoroughly depress myself this morning by digging out my old before and after photos from when I lost nearly 50lbs (about 7 years ago). I got down to 163lb, from around 210lb. Just checked my weight in pounds now and I'm 242lb! So I've got to lose the 2 stone just to get near my previous high. Bit of a reality check as I actually hadn't realised I was that much heavier. So I've got over 70lb to lose to be a healthy weight, 80lb to get to goal (this is why I've switched to kg!). Oh well, it's got to go and sitting in bed sulking about it isn't going to help...

I've got to lose the best part of 2 stone to get to my old highest ever weight too. I also managed to lose about 3.5 stone a few years back before becoming pregnant with my now 5 year old. The resolve and motivation I had then has been sorely lacking since!

bsfgham · 02/01/2024 12:27

Can I join too please, am disgusted by this morning's weigh in.
Age 56 and pre-diabetic, 3 stones overweight.
Height -6"
SW-16stone
EW-14 stone
GW-13 stone (normal BMI but upper limit)
Used to be 9-10stone as a younger woman 🥲

poorremus · 02/01/2024 12:30

Hi all - I'll probably lurk more than I post but I'm in if you'll have me.

Would love to lose 2 stone by Easter, but peri and some ongoing health conditions means 1 is more likely and achievable. I could do with losing quite a bit more than that - but having been both much larger and much smaller than I am now, I just want to feel healthier and help my body out a bit.

Have started the year with Covid which has somewhat curtailed my plans to get out and walk, but Dry January and trying 16:8 intermittent fasting is what I started with yesterday.

Nothingoriginalhere · 02/01/2024 13:24

Hi all,
may I join?
I did the previous thread but lost my way pretty quickly due to chest infections and general life stress although I did manage to keep going with couchto5k ( finished week 6 this morning which I’m super proud of)

my starting weight is 86kg ( 13st 8lb) but at just 5ft 3 and 51 years old it’s a lot. My BMI is obese at 33.1
I am doing dry January and healthy eating
good luck everybody.

TicketyBoo11 · 02/01/2024 13:40

..and we’re off🙌 I am 168lb which is just over 12st..I’m 5’ 7” but 55 so I’ve got peri weight to contend with. 2 stone off is the goal, a stone and I’d see a real difference to be honest. I work on TDEE less 20% and eat when hungry apart from evening meal where we all eat together. DH calorie counting too, we’ve all both let ourselves go through stress, tiredness and laziness. Doing Dry January too as wine is too easy for me to drink.
1366 Cals per day-under by 80 yesterday so all good. I weigh, cook and calculate everything myself using the diabetes carb and calorie book which is brilliant. I don’t use MFP. Don’t track exercise as I will only eat my calories back just moving every day and a long walk or bike ride at the weekend (the mileage I do track). Getting back to swimming too…I am all over this, fed up of being unfit and tubby. I love myself too much to let this go on. 💕

I’m a slimpodder too, I’ve just reset to do the 12 weeks again as I’d got a bit lost along the way. Heavier and older than you and not weighed as don’t really want to know but aiming for a couple of dress sizes at least 🥰

WotNoUserName · 02/01/2024 14:05

My starting weight is 13 stone. My total goal weight is 9.5 stone, target for Easter 11 stone.

So far so good, did a 35 mile bike ride yesterday and tracked my food.

Littlegoth · 02/01/2024 19:48

Not as bad as I thought - starting this one 1kg lighter than I was on the Christmas thread. I fell off the wagon in November as there were 4 big close family birthdays, plus my own smaller birthday. No plans from now until March.

SW: 91.35kg
TW Easter: 83kg
Final goal weight: 60kg.

I would like to be under 75kg when I go on holiday in June. I’ve still got a Yule log and some Brie so I’ll take it on the chin if I don’t have a loss this week.

abbs1 · 02/01/2024 20:22

Got my 30th in April and looking to sort my health out post 2 babies. I'm absolutely terrible for snacking throughout the day as I'm concentrating everything on my 2 kids. I'm really unfit as well and need to start getting myself back on track.

SW: 73kg
CW: 71.4kg
GW: 60-65kg.

I'm hoping to hit 10stone if I can by Easter. 🤞 already messed up and ate a cadburys chocolate bar today. My son told me off and said I will get tummy ache for eating too much chocolate 🙈
I've done a 20min HIIT session this evening and definitely feeling it.

Irishstout · 02/01/2024 20:30

A couple of imperfect days to start for me but nothing disastrous and I've managed my 10k steps.

kirinm · 02/01/2024 21:25

Feel like today was a success. My IF window had to be slightly expanded as I had meetings and personal training.

Really enjoyed my PT session. First one in a couple of months and it really has cheered me up!

PotatoFan · 02/01/2024 22:09

I got a call today, after 18+ months of waiting I’ve reached the top of the waiting list for NHS funded weight loss support. It’s not a specific diet, more just support with making small long term changes. It’s a 6 months programme and I’ll start next week.

Tiredanddistracted · 02/01/2024 22:46

Had a great day today, food wise.

Breakfast: full fat Greek yoghurt, blueberries, some flaked almonds on top.

Lunch: 2 slices homemade wholemeal soda bread, half a medium avocado mashed on top, chopped tomatoes, rocket, bit of olive oil.

Dinner: wholemeal spaghetti, sauce made with leeks, tomatoes, onion, peppers and prawns. Bit of cheese on top.

No snacks, not felt the need.

Been wfh today - I'm a teacher and term not starting till next Monday but the Big O are probably in next term so shit needs doing. Didn't get as much exercise done as normal but I usually hit 15-20000 steps in term time, so not a huge bother.

Focus is on unfucking my diet and my health right now so not worried about calories at present. Weight loss can come later, once im healthier and happier. Key wins are no sugar (not even hidden) other than naturally occurring and no UPF. Not experiencing headaches etc yet - interested to see if they're in the post.

PlumpAndGrump · 02/01/2024 22:54

5 years ago I started calorie counting and by December that year I had lost just over 7stone.

Since then, lockdowns, pregnancy and postpartum mean I am pretty much back where I started.

I've been fat my whole life and I feel so done with it. I have a lot more to lose but will definitely join and aim for 2 stone by Easter.

Today I came in under calories and made healthy choices. Just under 9.5k steps too.

Good luck everyone.
