I have two stone to lose and my eating is out of control again. Always grazing. Hate the feeling of being a little bit hungry. I feel disgusting but I have to do something. I have a 1.5 year old child and I still haven’t lost the baby weight. I feel like I have no excuse now, I can’t believe she will be 2 next year and I’m still carrying this baby weight.

any tips on staying in a calorie deficit?

@Spudlover
DH ate two M&S jam donuts in front of me .... and I didn't flinch!
I haven't eaten anything sugary since the end of august. I was eating a chocolate bar every day before then....

Spudlover · 04/11/2023 17:21

Well done @ColinRobinsonsFart! DH is giving me plenty of practice too. He’s upping the ante on buying crap, maybe because he’s not having to consider me. I wish he’d rein it in a bit, he could do to lose shed loads some.

Managed to get hold of some Naproxen yesterday so first day in several today I’ve moved a bit easier.

Food today: Eggs, baked cod and salad, burger, cheese, courgette fritters, salad.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 04/11/2023 18:28

@Spudlover ....

My DH is over 6ft tall and struggles to make 12st.
So he eats what he likes! ( 😳🥺)

Breakfast was porridge with milk, a spoon of cocoa ( so it's chocolatey) and a banana chopped in it.

Lunch was chicken and veg soup with a slice of goats cheese and veg frittata

Tea was stir fry chicken and veg with egg fried brown rice

Glad you got some proper pain relief - Naproxen makes me ga ga so I take codeine phosphate, paracetamol and Ibuprofen.

Your food always looks so good @ColinRobinsonsFart .

I am still frustratingly losing and gaining the same 2lbs. Thinking about it far too many ‘treats’ slipping in this week; crisps, pizza, a doughnut, Stilton, big baguette sandwich, Halloween sweets and red wine (not all at once!) So it’s not surprising I haven’t lost any and am regaining! You really have to live like a monk to keep it off. I really would like to shift some before Christmas party outfits come out so will make more of an effort with willpower and also tell DH not to offer me any of the above.

How did I reach the age of getting older and wider? The kids can wolf everything and there’s not an ounce of excess on them, oh for the days of being thin as a whippet without too much effort.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 05/11/2023 16:50

@TogetherWeLearn - 37 yrs ago I was pregnant with DD1. Because of pre eclampsia and subsequent kidney failure I blew up from 8st to nearly 14st. DD was 4.5lb ...

I lost most of the weight gain ( was fluid tbh) within a couple of months...

When I started this diet I was 14st 2lb..... heavier than I was when I was pregnant

How the fuck did that happen?!!!

Spudlover · 06/11/2023 19:22

I’ve never been able to eat what I wanted so older and fatter is kind of my natural state! It’s not fun though. I often get a big loss at the start then slows right down. Half a pound off for me last week.

I blame super stretchy jeans for the not noticing!

Todays food - eggs and tomatoes, portobello mushrooms stuffed with cottage cheese and spring onion, salad, chilli with broccoli.

TogetherWeLearn · 06/11/2023 20:12

@ColinRobinsonsFart it just creeps up on you. It’s only when you decide to do something about it that you realise the scale of the problem & how hard it is to shift! I partially blame lockdowns, I remember seeing my plump face on zoom, being surprised, but the whole situation was so depressing that cake & wine were called for!

That also looks good @Spudlover

if I could have a personal chef I would be trim 😁

ColinRobinsonsFart · 08/11/2023 20:08

Tonight's tea...
chicken parmigiana, air fried potato chunks, peas and green beans

In 11 weeks I have lost 11.5lbs

Looks lovely again and well done on the loss, that is brilliant. How much do you want to lose?

Im still plodding on, except yesterday I just couldn’t be bothered. I had ham and cheese with a few bits of crudities and a glass of wine! I also need that chef @TogetherWeLearn!

Better today, although I still can’t exercise.

Food: Eggs and pea shoots, chicken soup, weighed portion of nuts, minute steak with peas, feta and braised baby gem.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 19/10/2023 20:35

@Myneedycat - pre diabetes!

But I know you can pay for it yourself - like ww etc

I’ve just signed up for Second Life. Really like the look of it. How are you getting on @ColinRobinsonsFart ?

Loving this thread. Well done everyone.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 09/11/2023 23:42

@Spudlover
Three stone in all - nearly a 1/3 of the way there.

@Myneedycat - do you mean Second Nature? If so I recommend the recipe book ( you do get the recipes in the app but I like something to make notes in)
If you want any help - let me know.

Myneedycat · 10/11/2023 07:56

Thanks. Yes I’ve got the recipe book. It looks really good. Starting on Monday.

Spudlover · 11/11/2023 16:40

Weighed in this morning to have one stone and half a pound off. I also bought a nice jumper dress in a size down which is really motivating. Going to keep at this regime as long as I can as it’s really helped me control my sugar demon.

Im also using CBD oil which I’m sure helps control my cravings. I use it mainly for menopause related anger symptoms and it really helps with that. Maybe it helps with the other too.

Food today is eggs and tomatoes, cottage cheese salad, beef and mushrooms in red wine with crispy kale.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 11/11/2023 17:30

Bloody excellent @Spudlover ! Well done!

What does CBD do? Does it make you stoned? Is it addictive?
I have thought about it as I have inflammatory arthritis caused by autoimmune disease and am in a lot of pain. I have to be careful as I have an addictive personality ( i have a drug history and don't even drink alcohol - and now I am a pillar of society, a late middle aged professional woman and granny - totally invisible now).

Today I had chicken breast, coleslaw made with sprouts and Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise. I made a lovely carrot salad with a simple dressing made of olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard salt and pepper. Was bloody lovely and I could've eaten more!

Spudlover · 11/11/2023 18:55

Thanks @ColinRobinsonsFart, feeling a bit better in myself now.

CBD doesn’t make you feel stoned no. And it’s not addictive. I’m using the Trip one they sell in Sainsbury’s and I really rate it. I put one pipette under my tongue a couple of hours before bed and I just feel relaxed. Anger and anxiety have been symptoms for me but I have endometriosis after hysterectomy still, so HRT is tricky.

I think DH is very grateful I discovered it!

Spudlover · 14/11/2023 18:15

How’s everyone doing?

I’m not doing too badly but boredom is starting to kick in. I’m doing reduced carb rather than low carb but there are only so many combinations of protein plus veg for dinner that I can think of. I’ve decided I’d like to lose another half stone by Christmas though so will hopefully manage to maintain the will!

Todays food: Eggs and tomatoes, cottage cheese salad, couple of slices of chicken, turkey steak with spicy mixed beans and green beans.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 14/11/2023 18:18

I am still at it... it's slow but steady. I am away next week - we are off to Italy for a week so I bet I will pile it on again...🥺

@Myneedycat how are you getting on? Did you start the SN diet?

TogetherWeLearn · 14/11/2023 19:36

Slight loss again here (1/2 a lb) but feeling better to be going in the right direction again. Final pre-Christmas push. Deliberately buying crisps for the family that I don't like so I won't be tempted! Avoiding lattes & booze empty calories most of the time.

@ColinRobinsonsFart at least Italian pizzas are thin, no stuffed crust there! Have fun.

Spudlover · 16/11/2023 21:44

@ColinRobinsonsFart have an amazing time! I’m more than a little jealous.

Well done on your loss @TogetherWeLearn. I figure I have the last 2 weeks in November before I enter the real danger period (apple stollen!) so I’m going to make it count.

Today’s food: Eggs, spinach and asparagus, chicken salad, cottage cheese, prawn stir fry, Babybel.
