I have two stone to lose and my eating is out of control again. Always grazing. Hate the feeling of being a little bit hungry. I feel disgusting but I have to do something. I have a 1.5 year old child and I still haven’t lost the baby weight. I feel like I have no excuse now, I can’t believe she will be 2 next year and I’m still carrying this baby weight.

any tips on staying in a calorie deficit?

Hi All,
I'm deciding to weigh on a Sunday. Weighed today and have lost 3.2lbs. Which is not bad. I'm also going to start measuring myself, however I find it a challenge to fit exercise in. Had a day off today as spent some time with my parents and went for a meal out! Back to it from tomorrow - staying mindful and choosing healthy options! Not sure how to tag people!

ColinRobinsonsFart · 23/10/2023 16:33

I am at a plateau!

I have been stuck for a few weeks at the same weight.

But I am not giving up!

Today for lunch I had

Home made butternut squash soup ( defrosted from freezer)
A small piece of sourdough bread
Left over yogurty/cucumber dip from last night.

Today I have made a big pot of sundried tomato hummus and some sweetcorn fritters.
The fritters will be frozen.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 23/10/2023 18:17

Tonight's tea

Chicken parmigiana
Broccoli
Air fried potato chunks

@221BBakerSt well done! It’s hard going out isn’t it. I’m going out Thursday with some friends to a pub quiz but I’m going to drive.

@RememberToSmile1980 that’s a great loss, well done!

Food is looking good @ColinRobinsonsFart. Have you been measuring yourself as well as weighing? It’s worth doing if you’re not, especially if you’re exercising.

I have wanted to eat everything in sight today but managed to rein it in.

Eggs and spinach for breakfast, prawn salad for lunch, cottage cheese and Babybels for snacks and pork steaks with mushroom sauce, kale and green beans for tea. Might have a sugar free jelly later.

Guys I got fat shamed so badly in Paris

The teeny lift in the hotel would not work was told I had to get out
Too heavy

In restaurants when I went to sit down waiters made a big deal of having to move table so far out to accommodate me

The list goes on

100 lbs to lose
I'm giving myself two years
It can't go on

I'm a professional and nothing fits for work
Baggy t shirts and jogging bottoms
Like utter disgrace

Binge eating due to ex trying to murder me and walking free after a long criminal case

So I'm
Here to lose this shit

RememberToSmile1980 · 23/10/2023 21:23

Thank you @Spudlover! I really need to stay on it this week!

RememberToSmile1980 · 23/10/2023 21:25

You have got this @thisisasurvivor! Take one day at a time. I'm sorry for what you've had to go through. I know how you mean about binge eating. It's difficult to stop, but you can do it. We are all here to support each other.

221BBakerSt · 23/10/2023 23:11

@thisisasurvivor you are an incredible person with untold strength, you deserve every second of contentment in life and we are with you every step of your weight loss journey.
Fifteen years ago I lost just over 100lbs, low carb, I kept it off for over ten years but I have around half to lose again and I’m trying not to feel a failure but look at myself as a trier.

I’ve lost 5lb in the last fortnight, but more importantly I’ve stopped my out of control comfort-binging-that-wasn’t-even-comforting-me. Bought a new book today rather than junk food. Tomorrow’s plan (busy and emotional day): protein shake, mushroom egg white omelette and salad, lentil bolognese and slim noodles.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 23/10/2023 23:12

Thanks @Spudlover - I haven't been measuring myself ( I am shit at that sort of stuff) but my belt is on the next to last hole.
I can't exercise due to inflammatory arthritis- I walk with a stick.

Sit with us @thisisasurvivor .... we will give you a pat on the back and a kick up the arse. We have got you ...you can do this.

Spudlover · 24/10/2023 18:55

I’d say that is a pretty good measure @ColinRobinsonsFart! I’m measuring, also using a pair of work trousers. They used to be loose, got tight and now I’m aiming to need a size down.

@thisisasurvivor welcome. You can definitely do this. Same as PP, I have also previously lost a lot of weight, I lost 80lbs back in 2008 and kept it off for 10 years before becoming unwell and needing a hysterectomy. Since then I have bounced around needing to lose 2-2.5 stone but I really want to do it this time and get back to max health. Good luck!

Food today not very exciting, eggs and spinach, chicken salad, cottage cheese, bolognese sauce, cheese and broccoli.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 25/10/2023 18:27

Working today, tomorrow and Friday so I did some meal prep yesterday.

Lunches are homemade hummus, carrot sticks, salad and a wholemeal pitta bread.

Tea is vegetable soup with cheese.
Pudding Greek yogurt and stewed apple.

Trying to cut back on the carbs and fruit.

221BBakerSt · 25/10/2023 18:43

Meal prepping really helps @ColinRobinsonsFart and it sounds tasty.

I had feta and olive salad, a protein bar, a fruit slice, and mashed swede with mixed veg & gravy today.
Tomorrow Skyr yoghurt with berries, and a plain turkey stir fry.

TogetherWeLearn · 26/10/2023 14:33

Still only 5lbs down here but had some meals out last week and booze so its understandable I haven't lost further. Hoping I can drop at least 2more lbs in November so I am half a stone less in Dec than I started at it Sept.

Have broken the mindless snacking habit though and if I do need a bite between lunch and dinner I try to make it something healthy,

Spudlover · 27/10/2023 16:38

I fell off the wagon last night with 4 glasses of Prosecco. I got a big promotion at work and wanted to celebrate. Now I’m struggling to not want to carry on the celebrating with a takeaway!

I’ll be strong because I’ve been in the zone and I don’t want to undo all may hard work but I am teetering!

Food today will be scrambled eggs with mushrooms, tuna salad, baked fish and prawns with broccoli and tomatoes. Plus treadmill.

TogetherWeLearn · 27/10/2023 17:19

Congratulations @Spudlover. Maybe try and pamper yourself some other way that will make you feel good? Beauty treatment or a new work outfit?

ColinRobinsonsFart · 27/10/2023 19:14

Well done @Spudlover ! Celebrate away!

Teaching again today so I had a feta cheese salad, a seeded flatbread and a banana for lunch.

Tea was prawn pasta ( tomato sauce made from pasatta, onions, king prawns, vegetables etc) - pasta was wholemeal and my serving was 70g.

I have also made carrot, swede and coriander soup - all portioned up and ready for the freezer.

I plan to make some hummus this weekend.

Picture is of the prawn pasta - was lovely

Thank you!

Good plan @TogetherWeLearn. There’s a nice jumper I’ve been eyeing up that I might treat myself to.

Your food always looks fabulous @ColinRobinsonsFart

ColinRobinsonsFart · 29/10/2023 17:47

It's been a busy weekend. I am sticking to as low carb as is comfortable.
This morning I was 1/2lb lower than I have been for over a week so fingers crossed I might've tipped over the plateau.

Saturday was a busy day, we went to a meeting for a volunteer thing we do, then we went to an elderly friend who needed help with her laptop and her iPad. By the time we finished it was 4pm and we had not eaten since the day before.
So DH took me to the pub we met in 20 yrs ago. I had corn and courgette fritters, carrot salad, red pepper tapenade, hummus and dukka. It came to 500 calories. It was so bloody good I had already started tucking in before I took a photo.
I had some carrot and swede soup for supper.

Today I made a vegetable omelette which I had with a salad for lunch
Tea was a home made chicken, mushroom and spinach balti with brown rice.
I will have some fruit later.

Spudlover · 01/11/2023 19:47

How’s everyone doing?

Thats very romantic @ColinRobinsonsFart! Food looking great again.

I lost 3lbs last week, although this week may be a bit of a right off because I’ve buggered my back and can barely move. Will try my best not to cock it up because I’m still feeling reasonably motivated. Solace does not lie in chips and brandy.

Food today was eggs and tomatoes, home made chicken and pumpkin soup, cottage cheese and spicy turkey with mixed beans and broccoli.

Spudlover · 01/11/2023 20:14

Write off, not right off!

ColinRobinsonsFart · 01/11/2023 20:19

@Spudlover .... I thought I was on my lonesome!

Well done for your 3lbs! Wahooo that is a result! But I am sorry about your buggered back - I have ankylosing spondylitis and that gives horrific back pain so my heart goes out to you.

I am still trying to get over my plateau and there was a slight change on the scales.... slight... a bit... a little.

I am continuing with the v low carb - today was a soup day

Plain Greek yogurt with banana and a tablespoon of sultanas for breakfast
Chicken and veg soup for lunch and tea with a small piece of sourdough bread

Spudlover · 02/11/2023 21:21

Not yet @ColinRobinsonsFart!

Thanks, it’s pretty painful but ankylosing spondylitis sounds worse ☹️

Plateaus are really annoying and often for no reason. Could it be worth upping your calories for a couple of days to rev your metabolism back up a bit? Not sure if that works or not.

Ok day here, food a bit samey. I need some inspiration.

Eggs and tomato, chicken and pumpkin soup, cottage cheese, chicken parmagiana (no breadcrumbs) and broccoli.

ColinRobinsonsFart · 02/11/2023 21:57

Glad you are still with me @Spudlover !

This was my main meal today.

Vegetable and goats cheese frittata, home made coleslaw, salad and a small piece of sourdough baguette

Starting tomorrow, again. Who’s with me?
ColinRobinsonsFart · 03/11/2023 18:40

Breakfast -
2 x sweetcorn fritters

Lunch -
Hummus
Carrot sticks
Chicken and veg soup

Tea -
Fillet steak
Carrot and swede chips
Peas
Mushroom sauce

Starting tomorrow, again. Who’s with me?
Spudlover · 03/11/2023 21:56

Love a fillet steak!

Today for me has been eggs, tuna salad, celery and low fat cream cheese, red beans and rice (using cauliflower rice)

I’m having a couple of G&Ts tonight 🙂
