Gah, weighed myself again and I am up again. Lost 6.6lbs the first week, then this second week have 'put' 2.2lbs of that back on- obviously some of the first 6.5 was water weight and I'm still 4.4lbs down but why am I going up slightly again?? I am not eating anymore. Arguably less! Do I need to have diarrhoea to lose weight??!

Could be just fluids stick with it ..

I have woken up with a cold not feeling especially hungry but that could be the cold

Anyone find the second week hasn't had the same effect at the first ?

I injected on Saturday morning and felt the effects 'wear off' on Wednesday. I lost 4lb so still happy with that.

Took my second dose on Friday night (in case of side effects). The food noise seems to be back and no loss of appetite. I'm still mindful of what I'm eating, but did notice I was able to eat much more yesterday than usual.

I'm looking forward to upping to 0.5mg. Has anyone done this sooner than the recommended 4 weeks ?

I did. I had 2 weeks of 0.25ml then double injected the next week. I kinda regret it because I've been more nauseous and actually sick a few times. I underestimated the symptoms on the 0.5ml. However, I did lose 4lbs this week. That's 10lbs lost in 3 weeks.

Sadly though I'm having to give up wegovy in 4 weeks when my new pen runs out. It's just too expensive for me. Hoping to continue up to lose on my own. Even 1lb a week consistently would be good. Wish me luck!

tootiredtothink · 16/10/2023 14:51

Thanks @Bivarb. I think I need to just be patient. If the 3rd injection is the same then I'll get advice (got my first pen from Manual so there is plenty of support there with them.

10lbs in 3 weeks is fantastic, so sorry you're not going to be able to continue but hopefully this will give you the kick start you need. Good luck Flowers

SofieM0 · 16/10/2023 15:20

@crazyaginglady
not me but my friend had similar of about 9lbs - she ended up getting some lemon bottle injections which helped her shift it to about 4lb! Not sure if you can do both those and wegovy at same time but can’t see why not.

SofieM0 · 16/10/2023 19:36

Finally took my first jab. I passed out about 30 seconds later - I forgot that I used to do this, been a while since been near a needle!
I did it in the upper arm and it still feels a bit sore and bruised although visually fine. Anyone get pain in injection site?

hopefully will be fine overnight and in the morning 🤞🏼

FattyPattyBumBum · 16/10/2023 21:24

@SofieM0 arm 😱 god no...went for the flabby belly didn't even feel it go in!

Tailfeather · 16/10/2023 22:16

😆 I went for thigh.

That was 24 hours ago. How long does it take to work. After all of the anticipation and nerves I don't feel a thing and am really hungry!

Starlightstarbright2 · 16/10/2023 22:53

I did thigh too …

I don’t feel particularly different but am still more conscious of diet

SofieM0 · 17/10/2023 04:45

@FattyPattyBumBum lol my arms are quite fatty, my partner said it went in like butter! But I will go for the belly next time. I feel like the thigh would hurt me most , interesting to see it’s a popular site!

so far no side effects. I went to sleep about 2 hours after and I’m awake early but that’s not unusual. Don’t feel hungry yet, feel quite motivated which is nice and maybe a bit thirsty!

Geggs · 17/10/2023 05:50

For those worried about gaining, but feel like they’re doing all of the right things: track your weight over the whole month. Weigh daily if you can to track how your body responds - this will help you see that your weight can fluctuate wildly day to day, week to week, but overall you’ll see the weight come off if you’re in a calorie deficit.

i can see a 2lb gain in a day for what feels like no reason, but it’s never real weight. Because every single month since I started in April I’ve lost weight, whether 2lb or 8lb. I’ve lost.

I’m assuming the daily fluctuations are related to how I retain water, if I’ve been constipated, what food I ate the day before, hormones etc. I no longer worry about why weekly weigh in. I look at my overall loss per month. It’s been a bit of a revelation not to stress about weekly weigh ins tbh.

Disappointedsofa · 17/10/2023 10:13

@tootiredtothink I'm about to take my 4th dose of 025mg, the nausea has gone and still feel hungry. I think I could do with moving up to 0.5 now as I have plateaued. I've been the same weight for the last week.
But I don't want to waste the last 0.25mg so will prob just take it. I've lost half a stone so far which I'm pleased with but that was just because of the nausea.
Really hoping the 0.5mg will make me feel nauseous again and continue to boost the weight loss as 0.25mg is obvs not working anymore for me. I'm glad I bought the 0.5mg last week so I have it in the fridge

Tailfeather · 18/10/2023 08:57

Day 3 and I still feel no difference. Does anyone here have hypothyroidism? I've read levothyroxine can effect the efficacy.

Greeneggsandspamm · 18/10/2023 09:34

Does anyone buy a bigger pen but only give themselves a smaller dose from it? I remember on the ozempic thread people on a small dose would buy a big pen but only do so many clicks and it worked out more cost effective. Does anyone do this with wegovy?

caringcarer · 18/10/2023 11:01

Bivarb · 05/10/2023 11:51

It isn't painful. The needle is so small that you don't really feel it go in. You can inject in your tummy, thighs or arm. I found the stomach easier as I have more fat there.

It's a tiny thin needle like a hair and less than 1 cm long. You don't feel it. I pinch a large amount of lower tummy fat and inject it into there. I wait 10 seconds after clicking stops for all the liquid to come out.

caringcarer · 18/10/2023 11:06

I'm on Ozempic I take a 1 and a 0.25. My GP prescribes it for me. My BMI was 60 now it's under 50. I'm pre diabetic, have high blood pressure and asthmatic though. I've now lost 3 stone 13 lb now over about 7 months. Every so often I plateau but I just keep pushing on and then I lose a bit more. The last stone has been the hardest. I've moved up from 1.0 to 1.25 dose to kickstart more weight loss.

SofieM0 · 18/10/2023 13:19

@Tailfeather I’m on day 3 too and have noticed some differences but majority of my changes have come from will power as it’s too expensive to fail! So maybe some placebo but either was it’s working. Sounds like efficacy increases on bigger doses but you have to work your way up. Keep going, it’s better than not doing anything and in a few weeks you can increase your dose.

SofieM0 · 18/10/2023 13:21

@Greeneggsandspamm I don’t have experience with the other one but I don’t do this with Wegovy and not sure if you can - would it just be pulling pen out after so many clicks? I also think it’s hard to get bigger pens if not already been through lower doses and in some cases you have to prove that too. Hope that helps.

Tailfeather · 18/10/2023 13:25

@SofieM0 Thank you. I will keep going! Determined to shift some of this blubber. Ideally 3 stone.

I expected to feel nauseous and not want to eat, but I'm still hungry and forcing myself to restrain. It's a bit of an anticlimax having been so nervous of the side effects!!

Are you still hungry?

SofieM0 · 18/10/2023 13:39

@Tailfeather i was nervous of the side effects but apart from some mild acid, nothing!

I’ve definitely felt less hungry so for the last 3 days I’ve managed to fast 19-20hrs each day without feeling too hungry or thinking about food. Today I felt a bit more hunger but switched to will power and got 20 hours in. In the 4-5 hours of eating, I’ve only had 2 very small portions - I could’ve eaten more but decided to be cautious so I didn’t get ill. I’ve not felt full but defo not as hungry and not got the same food noise/cravings.

ive got 4 stone to shift…so this has to work! But yeah anti climactic against some of the stories but also good - no negative side effects, im doing something more than last week and hopefully it will get better as dose increases.

bundle80 · 18/10/2023 17:13

I started today. I tried Saxenda last year but never found it really worked for me sadly but hoping this will work for me after being overweight/obese my whole life.

Tailfeather · 18/10/2023 18:55

@bundle80 Good luck! Let us know how you get on!

bundle80 · 18/10/2023 20:05

Thank you! How are you getting on with it @Tailfeather ?

Tailfeather · 18/10/2023 20:07

I can't feel any difference at the moment, but only started on Sunday. I hope that will change as I up the dosage!

Starlightstarbright2 · 19/10/2023 09:36

So yesterday was the first time I really noticed a difference . I had a large lunch 480 calories - not normal for me . I actually couldn’t eat tea . I usually graze all evening so it’s doing something .

That's good! 480 cals isn't much!
