@justsaxy Thank you, I do have alot to loose healthy BMI would range between 30-50kg but I am pleased as I am at approx 25% if I aim for the middle.
Wow, that's more expensive than here & I thought it was expensive here @£180 but good if you can get whichever helps you on insurance.
I am just wondering if doing Dry January is a step to far & putting too much pressure on myself doing both, but I'll see how I get on (I initially thought it might boost the weight loss but have had a very stressful day & would have enjoyed the relax)

I also have 30-40 kg to lose, so let's encourage each other! I have decided that Saturday morning will be my weigh in time.
It's great to share these wins!!! 25% is fab.

I quit caffeine and alcohol last year, but I was still picking up AF lagers or gin, so I am going to try and cut those out. I have bought tonic water (zero) as I still need something "fun" to drink. I drink plain water or herbal teas all day at work and need a little something else at the end of the day. Have made myself ice with lime slices in it, to make the tonic water look a bit fancier Grin

Shall do my weekly weigh in if I can pull myself out of bed...

No I rarely feel hungry. If I do it's because it's been 16+hours between meals. I can only eat small meals when I do, so that's a bonus.
Do you ever feel hungry?

Yes, I do feel hungry, but get full quickly. I'm not a doctor/expert, but have read it's important not to let the body go into starvation mode as weightloss will plateau (also not good for the body and can result in hairloss, quicker weight gain when you come off Wegovy etc). Some people could genuinely get by eating very, very little and have to force themselves to eat. Protein shakes seem popular in the US.

Kickstartplease · 06/01/2024 09:21

Supporting each other is great 😃
I also still get hungry but I only ate half my prawn salad yesterday & was full so just stopped.
Same with dinner chicken katsu curry & fresh bread, left half bread & fed leftover chicken to the dogs.
I also make sure I eat as I have a physical job & but have found if I get dehydrated I feel ill. I wonder if that's why some people struggle after alcohol, if it's actually dehydration.
I had alcohol free beer last night, the brand you choose can really make a difference calorie wise, Leffe is high -Bavaria low.
I enjoy the alcohol free gins as well - I have a SEND teenager & need the treat sometimes after a bad day

Just injected my first dose. Hoping it works for me.

Mookie81 · 07/01/2024 22:43

Lost 3 pds yesterday!
Have lost 15 pds in 9 weeks.
2 weeks left of 1ml. If I continue to lose, I'll stick with that dosage longer.

amusedbush · 08/01/2024 10:39

I'm back at work after 18 days off (FE college, shuts down over the festive period) and scraping ice off my car at 7am was quite the return to reality 😩

I took my third 1mg injection on Friday and I am down 24.6lbs in 9 weeks. Negative side effects are still minimal but the appetite suppression is significant.

I am due to titrate up to the next dose on the 19th January and I have my 1.7mg pen ready to go. Based on the effectiveness of 1mg, I'm expecting 1.7 to work pretty well for me and I'm seriously considering ordering a second pen in that dose. Lots of people stick at 1.7 for 2-3 months and I can't argue with the logic that it offers a buffer in case your body adapts to it. I still have 50lbs to lose so if I moved to 2.4 in February and it started to lose its efficacy, I'd have nowhere to go from there.

I'm thinking of staying on 1 until I plateau.

I started 0.25 yesterday night although I feel a little sick it hasn’t really reduced food noise or stopped me from thinking about food lol is that normal? I’m just purposely not eating breakfast today because I did the injection last night did anyone have this does it get stronger?

If you scroll back to my post on 03/01/2024, I replied to a similar question and gave my experience of the doses so far Smile

0.25mg is a fraction of the therapeutic dose. A small percentage of people feel the effects straight away but for the vast majority of people, it takes several weeks to build up.

Goneistheday · 08/01/2024 16:41

You're like me in the future @amusedbush and @Tailfeather - taking my first 1mg tonight and I'm planning to stay on this dose until I plateau. Weighed myself this morning and I've stayed the same again, so it's definitely time to move up for me.

Did you feel fuller quicker when you ate lunch?

I agree with sticking at the lower dosage to give you wiggle room.

I didn’t feel full as such BUT i have just had a 450 salad all day and I imagine without the injection I’d be starving by now so that’s great! It’s nice to have this realisation gives me hope that I can finally shift this four stone ( hopefully ) x

TryAgainWithFeeling · 08/01/2024 22:19

Had a nice realisation today that the hoodie I bought myself last year and never wore because it was too small fits me just nicely now!

Im on 0.5 at the moment having not coped with 1mg. I’m debating what to do next - I’m getting virtually zero side effects at 0.5, but only a very small appetite suppressant effect, so I think I’ll try 0.75 for a couple of weeks and see how I get on with that.

I'm due to go up to 1 tomorrow. Feeling a bit nervous....

Tailfeather · 08/01/2024 22:44

@rosiebutterfly This has been more of my experience. I still feel hungry and still fancy snacks, but can only manage much smaller portions. I don't feel physically full as such, I just get to the point where I really don't want another mouthful.

Fingers crossed it works for you! Plenty of people seem to be fine on it, I felt like I had the worst hangover of my life!

Tailfeather · 08/01/2024 22:41

I'm due to go up to 1 tomorrow. Feeling a bit nervous....

I felt pretty nauseous (enough to take anti-sickness tablets I got from my GP) on days 2 and 3 after my first 1mg injection but aside from that, I have been fine. I didn't even have any fatigue, which was my only notable side effect on the lower doses. Fingers crossed you're okay on it too!

I also totally agree with you on "I don't feel physically full as such, I just get to the point where I really don't want another mouthful". It's not a physical sensation for me either, it's just like a switch flips in my brain while I'm eating and my food suddenly becomes really unappetising.

Tailfeather · 09/01/2024 13:16

I haven't weighed for 3 weeks as was away for Christmas and New Year, so politely eating what I was given rather than being in control of what I was eating. But despite eating all of the carbs and puddings and having quite a few drinks, I am shocked that I have still lost (2lbs in 3 weeks - so not a massive lost, but so happy with that - although I know sometimes it can delay showing on the scales, so will see what happens at my next weigh in). I can usually pile weight on over Christmas and New Year. My BMI is now 30 exactly, so I'm hoping I go into the 'overweight' category if I continue to lose next week. 🤞 I start 1mg tonight. I stuck to 0.5 last month.

Week 1: -3lbs.
Week 2: -1lb.
Week 3: 0lb. (On holiday, so indulged).
Week 4: -2lbs.
Week 5: -2lbs.
Week 6: -2lbs.
Week 7: -1lb
Week 8: -3lbs
Week 9: -3lbs
Week 12: -2lbs (including 2 week holiday)

19lbs down

Starting BMI: 32.7
Current BMI: 30

Tailfeather · 09/01/2024 13:18

@rosiebutterfly Are you still losing on 0.5? X

I’ve just started the 0.25 :-) first week started Sunday I’ll keep you updated if I lose anything this week - kind of want to start the 0.5 already though just because I’m impatient lol!

Tailfeather · 09/01/2024 14:37

@rosiebutterfly sorry! Wrong person! I meant @TryAgainWithFeeling x

FlopFlaps · 09/01/2024 14:43

Hello - just posting as I signed up to MyJuniper a year ago and started using Ozempic and was losing weight fairly consistently until July/August when the supply became an issue and they had to start lowering the dose. I stopped weighing myself then for my own mental health so I don't know how much I have gained, and I don't really want to weigh myself for a few weeks.

Does anyone else feel that way with weighing and tracking food? The struggle I have with food is I've always been a yo-yo dieter and am rigid when on a diet and I eat all the diet foods and then I obsessively weight and track calories, but when I fall off the wagon I eat rubbish. I am not at the point where I really feel like I don't know how to eat well. I just don't know what to eat that's tasty and nutritious, but also quick to make. I think I have no sense really of what food I enjoy

Some months with Ozempic I started to get the awful sulphur burps and I had a few instances of severe diarrhoea, but mostly the side effects weren't too bad. I can't work out what specific foods triggered those symptoms, but I didn't track what I ate, but I'd like to be a bit more intentional with what I eat this year without becoming obsessive.

I have just reordered my next prescription of wegovy and I'll now be back on the 1mg dose. I'm thinking I'd like to take once every 10 days rather than once every week and see if I can spread the cost and still get similar results. Is anyone else doing that?

amusedbush · 09/01/2024 15:50

@Tailfeather Exciting! I'm right behind you - my BMI is now 30.3, just 2lbs away from "overweight".

Today I'm wearing a pair of size 14 Lucy and Yak dungarees that I bought in 2022 but have never fitted into (I had to cut the tags off this morning!). I couldn't even pull them up when I got them and now they're slouchy enough that I'm wearing them outside my house - at work😮

FattyPattyBumBum · 09/01/2024 16:14

@Tailfeather welcome to the overweight club, congrats. It's a good milestone.
@amusedbush you too 🙂
