I've found that I was doing well on 0.25, appetite suppression and not feeling too bad. 0.5 is a little too strong for me, hopefully the effects will calm down?
Day 6 since the shot and still struggling to eat at all. Feel really sick if i eat more than a tiny bit. I'm staying with inlaws this weekend and it's a bit of a nightmare not wanting to look rude. They've just announced they're ordering pizza for dinner and I'm just not sure I'll be able to eat any. Maybe one slice if I don't eat the crust. It's my birthday tomorrow and they'll have bought a cake and they've booked a table for lunch. Suddenly there is food everywhere, I can't eat it and it's a nightmare.
The weight is falling off me though, so every cloud...

Could you just be super polite but say you're on a bit of a health drive? Maybe take a salad to have instead of the pizza or alongside one slice? Eating out you can usually find something quite light on the menu, maybe just a starter or a salad? And join in with a tiny slither of cake? X

@Starlightstarbright2 Woo hoo! Congrats!!!

Please can I ask if anyone has heard anything about long term effects? Pancreas problems specifically. I'm really not trying to be negative/snarky, it sounds great and I'm very tempted, but worried. Any info gratefully received thanks

Pancreatitis is one of the listed possible severe side effects. Personally, I weighed up the potential side effects of this versus the potential side effects of being morbidly obese for another 30 years. Putting it frankly, I’m more worried about getting cancer or having a heart attack.

Mookie81 · 16/12/2023 23:25

3rd 0.5 shot this morning.
1pd lost this week, 11 pds total. Hoping to hit a stone next week, need to try a bit harder!

Pottyberry · 17/12/2023 09:58

Thanks @ItsMyPartyParty this is my thinking too

Goneistheday · 17/12/2023 19:19

Is anyone following a specific meal plan alongside it? So far, I've just been eating less in general and trying to eat more protein, but I've not really sat down and planned out what to eat throughout the week.

Same.
Being obese increases the risk of about 200 different cancers and, despite my best efforts, I was finding it impossible to lose weight.

Update from me. So I've just finished my 1mg pen, I've been on Wegovy for 12 weeks now and have lost 17 pounds. I plateaued for some of that but it works out at average 1.5 pounds a week loss.
I've just ordered the 1.7mg pen, I have another 11 pounds to lose and hoping that it will be the last pen that I need to get.
Yes I do worry about any long term side effects and the black box warning but without this drug I would not have been able to lose this weight, not with my binge eating problem.
So it was either get heavier or use this drug to lose the weight and just hope that I don't get any of the potential worrying side effects

Disappointedsofa · 17/12/2023 19:42

This drug has been a life changer for me , I've tried everything and other appetite suppressants and nothing worked like this

Tailfeather · 18/12/2023 08:51

Weigh in day!

Week 1: -3lbs.
Week 2: -1lb.
Week 3: 0lb. (On holiday, so indulged).
Week 4: -2lbs.
Week 5: -2lbs.
Week 6: -2lbs.
Week 7: -1lb
Week 8: -3lbs
Week 9: -3lbs (17lbs down)

Starting BMI: 32.7
Current BMI: 30.3

Goneistheday · 18/12/2023 08:57

Well done @Tailfeather ! Weigh in day for me this morning and second dose of 0.5 this evening.

SW 13/11/23 17 stone 8
CW 18/11/23 16 stone 6

It's my 40th in April, so I'd quite like to lose 2lb a week in the run up to that. That would get me to 14 stone which would be great for me.

This week I've planned out my meals a bit more to make sure I'm getting enough protein and fibre in.

Tailfeather · 18/12/2023 09:04

@Goneistheday I would love to be 14 stone by April too. I have a black tie event and would love to choose a dress I want to wear rather than having to pick one that covers my stomach, arms, wobbly bits etc.

Let's do this!!!

AhBiscuits · 18/12/2023 09:04

Well done both, making great progress.
Weigh in day for me too.
Bit annoyed that the Christmas holidays are here to kill my flow 🙃

Wegovy started week ago
amusedbush · 18/12/2023 10:00

Morning everyone! I had another good weigh in on Friday so that's me down 16.2lbs in 6 weeks. I finished off my 0.25 and 0.5 pens and, thankfully, no nausea this week but the constipation has reappeared.

I spent yesterday at my parents' house and DB and SIL came along, so my mum put on a little buffet lunch. It turns out I was really feeling the appetite suppression so aside from my daily (giant) iced coffee, I ended up only having about 400 calories of food. I felt quite hungry when I got home at 8pm so I heated up Saturday's leftovers but could only eat 2/3 of it, and I managed half a protein yoghurt afterward. It's strange: I didn't feel like I was physically stuffed, it was just as if my brain reached a point where it was like "nah, we're finished with that now" and I couldn't face another bite.

On Friday I will move up to 1mg and I'll also be taking my measurements again. I'm interested to see how my body composition is changing because I am fitting into old clothes that I previously wore when I was a good stone lighter than I am now. I know Wegovy helps to reduce abdominal fat so maybe I'll actually achieve my dream of one day not looking like a beach ball on stilts 🙏

Goneistheday · 18/12/2023 11:04

@amusedbush I know exactly what you mean and it's actually quite liberating! I'm enjoying the feeling of NOT feeling guilty about having something to eat if I want it. But 9 times out of 10, I'll think I want something, wait 5 minutes and I've forgotten about it. I keep thinking to myself, is this what people with normal attitudes towards food feel like all the time?!

SofieM0 · 18/12/2023 12:09

Well done everyone!! Great results.

I'm another -3lb down this week after first week on 1mg.

Good luck to you all through the next week of meals and parties!!

Mookie81 · 19/12/2023 18:58

I find I feel some hunger but when I go to eat, I feel full quickly and don't finish.

Carolwithane · 20/12/2023 22:10

I’m also seriously considering ordering now to begin in the New Year, is that possible? Worried about stock levels come January. Where is the best place to order from are they all much of a muchness?

Mookie81 · 19/12/2023 18:58

I find I feel some hunger but when I go to eat, I feel full quickly and don't finish.

Someone on Reddit explained that the medication doesn't get rid of hunger, it gets rid of your appetite, and I finally understand the difference.

I do feel hunger at points throughout the day but nothing sounds appetising and I can't eat much without feeling full and queasy. I have spent my life fixated on food and thinking about when I can next eat, so it feels bizarre to acknowledge hunger and then get distracted by something else.

I've only ordered from Health Express and found them really good, quick and hassle free. You can get it a bit cheaper by buying more than one pen at once.

I have ordered from Zava, Asda Online Doctor and Pharmacy2U so far and have been happy with all of them.

TryAgainWithFeeling · 22/12/2023 01:45

Im on the verge of giving up. I’ve lost a handful of pounds. On 0.5mg I felt like it was having a real effect in weeks two and three - I’d eat a small meal and feel comfortably satisfied, then not need to eat until the next meal time. By week four of 0.5mg my hunger came back. I’m now on week three of 1mg and the side effects have gone way up - sulphur burbs, all day nausea, vomiting (proper all the way to bile vomiting, not just a little. Sorry for the TMI!). Yesterday I frankly felt hungover all day (I was not!). And I’m getting no appetite suppressant from it now.

I don’t know what to do. I need to decide because I need to order the next pen if I’m going to continue. I’m wondering whether to measure 0.75 from a 1mg pen? See if I can tolerate that.

TakeMeToKernow · 22/12/2023 07:25

That sucks, tryagain

My week 4 on 0.5mg, I was also having the perma-hungover feeling, so I’ve stayed on 0.5mg. Could you drop down to a 0.5 pen, or yeah, maybe measure a smaller dose?

But it maybe just not suiting you, if you’re miserable with the side effects? If it’s no longer having the appetite suppressant effect, I hope someone wiser will be along with a suggestion for that.

So I’m now on week 9, but still on 0.5mg and happy at the mo.

I've not had a huge loss. I was 14,1. Weighing in around 13,5ish at the mo.

The BIGGEST thing for me, is my craving for alcohol has just vanished. From day 1, I went from barely waiting past 5pm to open a bottle of wine and putting away 5-6 pints on a Friday, to offering to drive and having one glass with dinner occasionally. I suspect the health benefits of that are positive enough to justify the cost!

My main weird side effect is hunger pains at breakfast.
Not really a breakfast eater, but every morning I get so hungry I think I’m going to be sick.
And I AM still craving sweet things. It’s like chocolate is now the only thing that hits the spot.

221BBakerSt · 22/12/2023 07:48

@TryAgainWithFeeling that sounds rough! I’m not sure what I would do in your shoes.
@TakeMeToKernow how interesting that it’s had that major effect on you, you’ll definitely be healthier and feel brighter too.

I am on day 40 of 0.25mg, no side effects apart from sleeping like a log, and I’m down 22lbs.

TryAgainWithFeeling · 22/12/2023 08:13

@TakeMeToKernow thats a huge positive side effect. Probably virtually pays for itself too, you should work out how much you’re saving on alcohol! Will be interesting to see if others feel the same and at some point it gets marketed as reducing alcohol consumption.

I think I’ll drop back to 0.5 for a few weeks. Having had that glimpse of it working I’d really like to make it work if I can!
