Anyone up for a big fat sort out, starting tomorrow.

Anyone care to join me in a general sort myself out thread.

I am starting tomorrow. I'm a mess, too fat, hair needs sorting, skin care routine needed and a lot more looking after myself.

Not sure of my weight but I'm guessing a good couple of stones needs to go. I have a drawer full of unused beauty products that I can't be bothered to use because I feel like what's the point.

I hate to mention Christmas, but it's 120 days until Christmas Eve. I reckon I could make improvements in that time.

I will weigh myself in the morning and use Mondays as my weigh day.

Can I join? 1st of the month, seems a good time. I'm 2 stone overweight and want to lose it by next July. It's a long time but I lose weight soooo slowly.

hby9628 · 01/09/2023 10:26

Well done everyone so far.
I've always done slimming world but more recently I've been using the ethos of SW but tracking my calories on nutracheck. It makes me realise how easy it is for me to overeat on SW
Does anytime else use nutracheck? I quite like it.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 01/09/2023 10:50

Well done everyone for the first few days. Day 4 for me and have managed to resist cookies in work (there's always junk in). Not finding low carb a chore, probably going over the 800 calories on the Fast800 but I'm more concerned about keeping carbs low and eating proper food.

Went to a gig last night and only had 2 vodkas and Diet Coke, well I hope it was diet! Amazing for me. Decided to knock the wine in the head for September rather than a blanket ban on alcohol so I'll see how I go with that.

Still haven't weighed but I might just go by my work trousers as they are super tight at the moment!

Hope everyone manages to push on over the weekend.

BudgieBardot · 01/09/2023 11:01

Me too. I would love some support on this journey. Been quite poorly the last few months and all motivation has gone out of the window

lastminutewednesday · 01/09/2023 11:18

Wine is like a Liquid cake. Must avoid! But I love it so very tricky.

DearRose · 01/09/2023 12:13

Hope you mum is ok btw @weknowfrogsgotralalalala ?

Well done @FiveShelties that's great!

hby9628 · 01/09/2023 12:30

@lastminutewednesday I love that wine analogy. I also love wine which is the problem

Hyppogriff · 01/09/2023 12:41

Wine is great and I also love that analogy! Just managed a 9 mile run - but when I got home my kids had bought me a cinnamon bun (which was amazing) hey ho!
weigh in tomorrow … agh!

Clefable · 01/09/2023 12:54

Another lb down this morning so that's 5.1 so far! I know it won't stay this speed and it's just because I'm fat and have a lot to lose, but it is keeping me going for now. I am one tenth of the way there!

weknowfrogsgotralalalala · 01/09/2023 15:39

Thanks @DearRose she’ll be in hospital for a bit but should be fine. A combination of a fall and a really bad infection, but she should be fine after lots of fluids and antibiotics.

I hope your Mum is soon feeling better, it will have been a huge shock for you both.💐

givemeasunnyday · 02/09/2023 02:16

Half-way through day two, and while I haven't been great I also haven't been as bad as usual, and very little chocolate has passed my lips, which is a win. I forgot to weigh myself so must remember to do it tomorrow.

FiveShelties · 02/09/2023 02:42

Day 6
2nd September Weight 10st 0.4 lbs Lost 4.6 pounds 😁
Day 5 Results
11594 Steps
7 Glasses of Water
Failed (again) on the wine front and shared a bottle with DH.

So 4.6 pounds down and tomorrow we go away for 4 days - not sure how badly that will go weight wise!

Have a fantastic week-end everyone.

DearRose · 02/09/2023 09:27

I think I've lost 1lb 😂

I was feeling kind of upbeat until DS, who woke at 5.15 this morning and who is teething and has a cough, spent most of the morning so far whining, throwing things around (including a Tupperware full of water) and demanding to watch Hey Duggee.

A reminder why I have eaten so much sugar since he was born...

Definitely feeling less bloated and sluggish despite being hungry, so that's good.

measuringmylifeincoffeespoons · 02/09/2023 11:26

Well I have lost precisely ... nothing

Still 18 st 3

Not that surprised to be honest. I'm going to try again to really hit it this week. Part of the problem is that I've been doing jury service and there are so many delays I just end up snacking

Hyppogriff · 02/09/2023 12:18

Weigh in day

SW 76.4 (14 aug)
CW 73.2
TW 63

v pleased with a small loss post hols 10 kilos to to. Aiming for 3-4 for September ! Taking its time though!!

DearRose · 02/09/2023 13:49

@measuringmylifeincoffeespoons I imagine there is lots of sitting down on jury service. You're probably not allowed to jog on the spot 🙂

Ooh well done @Hyppogriff

Just done a 4mile walk with DH while DS napped in the pushchair so that's good.

TrappedPotato · 02/09/2023 17:50

@Clefable are you a Pokémon fan?

JumpingGrassHopper · 03/09/2023 10:52

I'm back with my tail between my legs. I'm so sick of this cycle of truing and failing. Sigh.

Back on day 2 currently.
I have started using Saxenda again after wasting 2 pens "trying" and will try and use up my exante shakes.

As you can imagine I have tries every diet and failed. Now weigh more than ever.

Anyway, I'm going to post what I eat and drink for accountability.

Yesterday I had 2 x starbuck coffees and some pasta with pesto. Plus a normal coffee at home.

Today my aim is a coffee, 2 to 3 shakes and water.

MSc² · 03/09/2023 12:34

Can I join you all, please?
I was weighed at the doctors recently and discovered that I'm 12st 10 at 5' 4. I haven't lost the weight from my third child, if anything I think I managed to solidify it over the lockdowns.

I'm starting a new job tomorrow and I hope being out of the house every day will help, but it also means I'll have no time to exercise really other than in the evenings. So the plan is: a 20 minute stint on the exercise bike each evening, and wear weights on my wrists and ankles when I'm walking to and from work. (This is a new thing, the exercise bike and wearable weights are being delivered next week!) The idea is to squeeze in a bit of cardio and resistance training without taking up time that I don't have. I'm going to aim to reduce the massive portions of carbs I eat and replace half with salad.
I'm 39 and just started hrt, I'm peri-menopausal and need to strengthen my body.

Clefable · 03/09/2023 13:14

TrappedPotato · 02/09/2023 17:50

@Clefable are you a Pokémon fan?

Yes! We are all Pokemon mad in our house Grin

TrappedPotato · 03/09/2023 13:15

@Clefable same! Grin

Clefable · 03/09/2023 13:39

Charmander day yesterday was a good excuse to get us all out for some exercise! DH is trying to lose weight too so he and DD1 have been going out Pokemon Go-ing together most days to get his steps in.

TrappedPotato · 03/09/2023 15:18

It's great for that. Makes walks a lot more fun!

lastminutewednesday · 04/09/2023 13:26

Absolutely awful weekend on the food front. Better on the exercise.

Back to it today.
