Anyone up for a big fat sort out, starting tomorrow.

Anyone care to join me in a general sort myself out thread.

I am starting tomorrow. I'm a mess, too fat, hair needs sorting, skin care routine needed and a lot more looking after myself.

Not sure of my weight but I'm guessing a good couple of stones needs to go. I have a drawer full of unused beauty products that I can't be bothered to use because I feel like what's the point.

I hate to mention Christmas, but it's 120 days until Christmas Eve. I reckon I could make improvements in that time.

I will weigh myself in the morning and use Mondays as my weigh day.

@DearRose I eat loads of sugary crap too. Every day, all day. I'm so addicted. I didn't eat anything sugary yesterday and I had an awful headache in the evening.

@Trulee I didn't know a withdrawal headache from sugar was a thing until today. But it's disconcerting, isn't it - shows just how much we're affecting our bodies with high doses of sugar. I'm grumpy too.

Yes it's definitely a thing. I feel really tired today.

I usually weigh every day to keep an eye on things, and my official weigh day is Wednesday (away from the weekend to smooth out weekend fluctuations).

ManchesterLu · 29/08/2023 21:13

I've had an alright day today.
Certainly stayed within calories.
Haven't exercised as much as I'd hoped because things happened (as things do!) but my main aim is to stay within my calories and stop my ridiculous binges.
Anything above that (i.e. those calories being HEALTHY choices, or actually getting off my arse and exercising) is very much an added bonus.

Hi everyone. I’ll join you. I’ve lost 3 1/2 stone since February and have another 1/2 stone to get to a healthy weight. This last stone is proving to be the hardest. It’s such a slog.

My plan is to drink much more water and carry on with couch to 5k. As well as the diet. I want to at target for autumn proper.

FiveShelties · 29/08/2023 22:50

Day 3
30th Weight 10st 1 lbs Lost 4 pounds 😁
Day 2 Results
13701 Steps
47 Length Swim
6 Glasses of Water
No wine, but 3 measured (25ml) G&T

Swimming today so hoping for another good day

So I have lost 4 pounds in two days - why do I have a feeling it is going to take me weeks to lose the last three?!

It is fantastic to see so many people posting - good luck everyone.

Tilllly · 30/08/2023 07:28

Went for brisk walk last night, 12,000 steps

DearRose · 30/08/2023 09:05

Well done @FiveShelties that's a great effort!

I'm finding it hard to fit in the time for walking what with having a just-turned 2yo (who likes to walk but at his own pace), working p/t and DH's f/t work. Maybe even a half hour brisk walk in the evening would be a good idea...

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cheapish Fitbit/step counter? It might be interesting to see what I'm actually doing. I used to be v active, lots of hiking and cycling.

Here's my food to take to work today. Usually I'd be packing crisps, some kind of carby snack, chocolate or sweets, and also eating any snacks that happen to be lying about the office too 😬

Thanks guys I think this thread will help me stay on track haha.

Well done everyone for sticking to the plan.

Day three today, I really miss chocolate and cake. I've not had any so far but it's been difficult for me. Got a food shop being delivered in a bit and I managed not to add any junk to my order.

Enjoy the day, it's lovely and sunny where I am. Oh, just heard on the news that there is going to be a blue moon tonight, I'm weirdly excited to see it.

Day 5 today and down 2lbs so that's a nice boost to keep going.

Trulee · 30/08/2023 10:14

Well done @Clefable, that's really encouraging to hear.

Day 2 today. Haven't weighed myself as can't find my scales but won't stress about that. Just had mushrooms with diced halloumi and spinach with a couple of fried eggs. Dinner will be a chicken thigh with homemade coleslaw and salad. All Fast800 friendly. Test will be when I go back to work this week and the stress of it has me reaching for the wine but I'm determined to go at least 3/4 weeks without alcohol.

Going to properly meal plan today.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 30/08/2023 11:03

Lovely and sunny here too but there's a bite to the air which pleases me as it means autumn is coming (my fave season).

ManchesterLu · 30/08/2023 11:09

It's literally day 2 and I'm going out with my mum and grandparents for lunch. So I know today is going to be bad. I'm never going to be the kind of person who orders a chicken salad and a tap water when they go for a meal out. But what I am determined to do is to not wallow in it, and start again with a bang tomorrow morning.

lastminutewednesday · 30/08/2023 11:36

Well I've at least Managed IF today. About to eat a yoghurt to break my fast. And a good long dog walk this afternoon. Hoping to stick to it better for the next few days as dh and the kids are away visiting relatives. Much easier when I'm not catering for them too.

JaneLockland · 30/08/2023 11:38

@DearRose I usually buy my Fitbits from CeX - they come with a 24 month warranty and I only ever get a cheap one - then if the DC manage to break the strap again and the whole thing goes missing as has happened BLOODY TWICE before, then I'm not too devastated Grin

Thank you for the lovely photo @FiveShelties!! My lovely Grandad used to have Shelties, sadly I can only just about remember the last one as by the time I was little he'd decided he was getting too old to walk a dog every day and got cats and a budgie instead. I would definitely have a Sheltie myself if we could have a dog, he always said they were amazing dogs and very clever!

Have a great day everyone

DearRose · 30/08/2023 12:23

Oh thanks @JaneLockland that's a great shout! I have a bad habit of breaking all tech so second hand is probably the way to go.

Hyppogriff · 30/08/2023 13:41

Happy Wednesday everyone! Sounds like people are feeling motivated and on track - good exercising !! I was out last night for dinner so had steak and chips and wine and caved and had a pile of chocolate on the way home but I’m planning to not let one blip ruin the whole Journey which I might otherwise do! Managed an early morning run this morning and to avoid eating the rest of my daughter’s chocolate cake in M&S this morning . So feeling ok though dreaming Saturday morning weigh in!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 30/08/2023 20:41

Still no weigh in for me - I can’t find the right sized battery in our local shop and Tesco didn’t have them either! Who knew there was a 10p sized battery shortage in our area?!

Anyway, no wine since Saturday, no snacks at work, no deserts.

I’ve been looking at local gym options and have narrowed it down to 2 so I need to make time to visit them and get signed up to the one that I prefer.

we are going away with family for Christmas so that is my goal to be a bit fitter and lighter by then.

ManchesterLu · 31/08/2023 00:23

Today has been absolutely disgusting.
But tomorrow is a NEW day, and I'm not going to dwell on it.

I have to remember that, previously, EVERY day was disgusting. And now it's not. So progress has been made.
