Anyone up for a big fat sort out, starting tomorrow.

Anyone care to join me in a general sort myself out thread.

I am starting tomorrow. I'm a mess, too fat, hair needs sorting, skin care routine needed and a lot more looking after myself.

Not sure of my weight but I'm guessing a good couple of stones needs to go. I have a drawer full of unused beauty products that I can't be bothered to use because I feel like what's the point.

I hate to mention Christmas, but it's 120 days until Christmas Eve. I reckon I could make improvements in that time.

I will weigh myself in the morning and use Mondays as my weigh day.

Can I join? I'm starting tomorrow - always like a 1st of the month start! I only have around 10 kgs to lose, but I have been out of control for a while. I tried cutting back on sweet stuff over the past couple of days, and today have felt tired and out of sorts. The last time I weighed myself a couple of weeks ago I was 79.4 kilos, aiming for 70, but will be happy with just under 75.

Tilllly · 31/08/2023 06:09

Morning everyone

What are you going to achieve today?

Clefable · 31/08/2023 07:23

Morning all! Another 2lbs down this morning so 4 altogether so far (but still a lot to go!). Older DD is in nursery today so it's just me and DD2, so will have more time to miss snacking! But got a nice piece of chicken for dinner to look forward to at least.

DearRose · 31/08/2023 07:45

Hello! Hmm good question ☺️ On reflection I think... not spend the whole day beating myself up about things. Spending some time doing a hobby. Oh and continuing to not eat my own weight in sugar.

Hyppogriff · 31/08/2023 07:56

Try and squeeze in a run. Try not to go crazy at dinner tonight . Try not to drink loads (on holiday). Maintain relatively good mindset until can get back off holiday and start routine again!! Try not to feel so disheartened when I see the scales on Saturday that I feel back to square 1 and give up!

Hyppogriff · 31/08/2023 07:56

Well done on the losses and the positive mindsets of the pps!

Trulee · 31/08/2023 11:31

Yesterday was a complete disaster on the food front, I will try harder today.

Same here in the end @Trulee. I used to have amazing will power-I don't know where it's gone:(

TrappedPotato · 31/08/2023 11:38

Morning (just!) made a good start and lost 2 lbs so far so hoping I can keep it going. Need to do a trial run of wedding cupcake practice this week but I will try and palm them off on the kids and only have one myself!

Trulee · 31/08/2023 11:40

@lastminutewednesday I seem to have zero willpower at the moment. I've got a fair bit of stress going on at the moment but that's not really an excuse. It makes me feel such a failure which in turn makes me eat more. I'm my own worst enemy.

OP posts:
lastminutewednesday · 31/08/2023 11:47

I feel exactly the same. It's a viscous circle. Im a stress eater then I stress because I've eaten like an idiot. I start a new job on Monday and that combined with back to school stuff and house stuff is spinning me out. I know logically it's peri anxiety (I would have sailed through this stuff even 3 years ago) but that doesn't help when you are in it!
Going to take the dogs for a long old walk this aft as that's the only thing that has any chance of shifting my mindset (if not the packet of macarons that I've just wolfed down ConfusedGrin)

lastminutewednesday · 31/08/2023 13:05

Or a vicious circle even. Not viscous.

ManchesterLu · 31/08/2023 13:34

Managed to get straight back on it today after yesterday's bad day.
I know some people will think it's ridiculous to have a bad day on day 2, but honestly, every day used to be a bad day so just being able to have a good day straight after is huge for me.
I have quite a lot to do today, which helps me not eat (and obviously burns more calories) so hopefully the temptation to snack won't happen!

lastminutewednesday · 31/08/2023 14:12

I don't think it's ridiculous. It's about long term mind set shift rather than short term fix I think so any positive change however gradual is good isn't it?

Nichebitch · 31/08/2023 16:27

joining! I was going to start on Monday, but I’ve been stuck in Spain due to the flight cancellations… I’m flying home tonight and sorting myself out tomorrow!

DearRose · 31/08/2023 18:42

@Nichebitch wow I hope it wasn't a stressful end to your trip to Spain. How long have you been delayed?

@lastminutewednesday definitely agree about the change of mindset. It's about looking after yourself long-term

Nichebitch · 31/08/2023 23:38

@DearRose we were supposed to get home on Sunday… but we made it, landed in the UK just 1h ago. No excuses for a sort out now!

weknowfrogsgotralalalala · 01/09/2023 08:16

weighed in this morning at 14st 4 🙈, but given the week I’ve had it’s ok (had to rush to mums and get her into hospital) so the very good start to the week was disrupted, and I’ve lost the weight I put on on holiday last week.

today is my first day of working in 2 weeks, so not sure how the day will pan out, but back to exercise and intermittent fasting tomorrow.

well done to everyone for their losses!

lastminutewednesday · 01/09/2023 08:21

Morning all.

Determined to have a better day today. Have had a black tea (permissible on IF) and WILL NOT eat til 12 noon.
Just sitting outside under our verandah thing watching the constant mizzly rain and looking forward to the DD's going off to their Dads for a weekend so I can do my pre -new job deep clean of the house and not have to worry about what they want for dinner for a few days!

lastminutewednesday · 01/09/2023 08:22

@Nichebitch welcome home-that's some delay!

lastminutewednesday · 01/09/2023 08:22

Have a great day all :)

DearRose · 01/09/2023 08:33

Oh wow @Nichebitch on Sunday! That's crazy. Welcome back to...the cold UK yay (it's cold here in the North East anyway).

Hmm I don't think I've actually lost any weight. Despite feeling hungry all the time. Although my scales are kind of crappy. Let's blame the scales. Yes. It's definitely the crap scales.

I might have to accept my metabolism isn't as fast as it used to be.

I know we're only a few days in and it's great that I haven't been eating all the usual rubbish. But I can't help feeling disheartened. Think I'll try intermittent fasting as well. Originally I thought I don't mind if it's a slow process... but actually I do want to know being hungry is worthwhile!

I made some roasted carrot and bean soup yesterday, so that's for lunch 🙂

Hyppogriff · 01/09/2023 08:41

Back on it properly today!! Went out for dinner last night but will be more disciplined today and we leave holiday today so should be easier. Will weigh in tomorrow and report back. Didn’t make it for my early run as kids woke up before my scheduled run time !

DearRose · 01/09/2023 09:08

@Hyppogriff ahhhrgh sabotaged by the kids. My one woke up at 5.45 this morning, must be a conspiracy.

FiveShelties · 01/09/2023 09:33

Day 5
1st September Weight 10st 0.2 lbs Lost 4.8 pounds 😁
Day 4 Results
16346 Steps
8 Glasses of Water
Failed (again) on the wine front and shared a bottle with DH.

@ManchesterLu @Trulee @lastminutewednesday if you never had a bad day, how would recognise a good day? I think every so often you just need to forget dieting.
@Nichebitch - that is a long delay, did they look after you?
