Anyone care to join me in a general sort myself out thread.

I am starting tomorrow. I'm a mess, too fat, hair needs sorting, skin care routine needed and a lot more looking after myself.

Not sure of my weight but I'm guessing a good couple of stones needs to go. I have a drawer full of unused beauty products that I can't be bothered to use because I feel like what's the point.

I hate to mention Christmas, but it's 120 days until Christmas Eve. I reckon I could make improvements in that time.

I will weigh myself in the morning and use Mondays as my weigh day.

Hi
I'd like to join.
Heaviest I've ever been. I take sertraline for anxiety which have really helped with that.
However - it has caused my appetite to increase. I feel stuck cos I don't want to stop the medication but getting bigger is getting me down.
Hopefully I can get in control of this x

“Starting tomorrow”

I read this so often. Why not “starting right now”?!

Probably because most people want to start with a 'clean sheet'.

DearRose · 29/08/2023 06:56

Hello 👋 joining too. I have around 6kg to lose. Not horrendous, but my clothes being too tight has been making me feel miserable. I've got into a bad habit of too much chocolate and other crap since having my son. He's 2 now. I'm hoping that cutting out the snacks and evening wine sticking to 3 meals will do the job.

doesn’t make sense to me 🤷‍♀️

Day one complete. I spent a lot of yesterday craving sugar but I managed to avoid.

I kept myself busy last night washing down the walls in my living room which I intend to paint. I have so much decorating that I need to do, I have been putting it off because of the disruption it causes. Anyway, I've made a start now. My legs ache going up and down the step ladder to wash the ceiling. I'm calling it exercise!

Have a good day all of you.

@Layinwait thanks for that, I'm sure that we all find it really really useful.

I’m in too - doesn’t seem like I’m wildly too late as a few others joining round about now too! Nice to meet you all! I started on 14th august at 76kg just over 12st which is the heaviest I’ve ever been. Was 73.4 on Friday but away this week without scales. TW is 9.5 st (about another 2 stone to go).

Going to try to weigh every morning. I’m running a lot at the moment but that’s just not enough to stop the weight going on anymore.

Sounds like a few of us could use the support to get over the ‘fuck it’ mentality which has a tendency to kick in at some point - I definitely do!

I also want to stop opting for joggers every day and dare to open my cupboard full of actual nice clothes lol!

good luck everyone for a healthy Tuesday!

talkitup · 29/08/2023 08:01

Day 2. I was physically busy yesterday, so didn't think much about eating anything until lunchtime. Stuck to my cals, and ate quite a bit of fruit which sorted any sugar cravings. Somebody was looking for a new home for an old mannequin, so I'm picking that up today and plan to list a lot of clothes on vinted & clear some space. Hope everyone's else has a +ve day.

It is exercise
Well done 👍

Could I join you please?

I go on holiday in 6 weeks and I have nothing that fits
Then Christmas
Then a significant wedding in 5 months - I have my dress and can't even zip it part way up

I need to get on the scales for a start but I'm scared...!!! I'm 5 2" and think I should be about 9 stone?

LouLou198 · 29/08/2023 08:25

Just the thread I need op! Christmas is a great goal, I am with you!

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 29/08/2023 08:30

Day 1 here we go. Having black coffee/water until about 11am and I'll be having miso mushrooms, eggs and avocado.

Currently looking through all my Fast800 books for recipe inspo and what to batch cook as I'm a shift worker so need stuff I can pop in the microwave.

'Starting tomorrow' helps me build up mentally. Last night I finished the last of the wine I had in my house and had lovely burgers cooked by my partner. I'll still be having the burgers going forward I'll just be forgoing the bun. You need that mental build up if you pick a day I feel.

juleypooly · 29/08/2023 08:33

Hi, can I join? 11lb3 currently. Have a six month old and just find myself picking all day on maternity leave!

I have toyed with the idea of slimming world which worked really well for me last time I did it after my first baby but now with two kids can't justify the expense nor can I be bothered to drag both of them down to the meetings! So hopefully weigh ins with you guys will provide the same motivation!?

Lollyblue · 29/08/2023 08:44

Weighed in this morning. Currently 13 stone 5.5- heaviest I have ever been and peri menopausal. Definitely need to stick with it

I don't suppose that matters, it only matters to the poster who is intending to start tomorrow.

Honeybee45 · 29/08/2023 08:54

I’m in! I’ve about 2 stone to lose and have so many nice clothes that no longer fit. Since I started WFH the weight has piled on I’m peri menopausal also

Bananaramad · 29/08/2023 09:06

oh me too, I've 4 - 5 st to loose, same as most of you lovely lot I have a wardrobe of things I love that I want to get back into. I wear the same few things on repeat to work and leggins & t shirts at home, I think I look silly with make up and hair done, and I used to love getting dressed etc.

start today, I'm 5ft 2 & 14.3 (Yikes)

TrappedPotato · 29/08/2023 09:25

Please can I join you? Heaviest I've ever been and I need to sort myself out as I'm getting married in April. Plan to fast between 7pm and 11am, eat less generally and exercise more. I'd like to lose 2 stone (ideally 3 but I'm not sure if that's possible in the timeframe so I'm trying to set realistic targets so I don't get despondent!).

housingplanningquestion · 29/08/2023 09:30

I'll join too. I'm on holiday until the weekend so can't weigh, but I think around 14 stone. I've been this weight before but got down to 11 and a half and was there for a while, I'd like to get back there. I might aim for 12 stone by Christmas.

housingplanningquestion · 29/08/2023 09:33

I'm trying a potato diet - potatoes mon - fri, off plan Friday night - Sunday. It's a thing! I've done keto before and love it, but I'm so busy now that I can't manage it any more. I need something very simple.

Huh?
You just eat potatoes?

I found it on Google. I've attached the blank version 🙂
I'm trying the 800 calories exante shakes and I'm struggling already. Luckily off work today so hopefully tomorrow will feel easier.

This is awesome! Thank you for sharing

housingplanningquestion · 29/08/2023 09:45

Yep I know, sounds bonkers. Potatoes without fat. I'm adding salt. Boiled, air fried, baked, mash but can't imagine what with. You eat as much as you like. They have protein, fibre, vitamin C. The idea is the food is somewhat tasty but not delicious. So you are never hungry but don't really overeat. It keeps the calories low, and apparently it resets your appetite and palate, you don't tend to overeat so much on off days. I was overeating on holiday in France and have dropped breakfast, potatoes for lunch, normal dinner for the last two days, and my appetite is actually much reduced (could be hormonal though). I'm excited to try it though! Re. Recommendations are to bake or boil a load of potatoes in one go and fridge them, you'll get through more than you think.

Spud fit guy says potatoes only for 3-5 days; other people do longer stints.
