Anyone care to join me in a general sort myself out thread.

I am starting tomorrow. I'm a mess, too fat, hair needs sorting, skin care routine needed and a lot more looking after myself.

Not sure of my weight but I'm guessing a good couple of stones needs to go. I have a drawer full of unused beauty products that I can't be bothered to use because I feel like what's the point.

I hate to mention Christmas, but it's 120 days until Christmas Eve. I reckon I could make improvements in that time.

I will weigh myself in the morning and use Mondays as my weigh day.

I found it on Google. I've attached the blank version 🙂
I'm trying the 800 calories exante shakes and I'm struggling already. Luckily off work today so hopefully tomorrow will feel easier.

hello, I am bad at keeping up with these threads but have a lot of weight to lose, about three stone

I've been using excuses for ages and not weighing myself. I have a one year old, and bfing really piled on the weight for me as I was so hungry and just let myself eat and eat.

About twelve stone now. Weighing on the first of the month every month with a goal of half a stone off a month.

fedupofbeingbroke · 28/08/2023 15:52

3 stone to go. Thinking of doing keto as I've heard this os effective. My plan for this year is to lose 3 stone and be able to run 5k comfortably.

GreenMarigold · 28/08/2023 16:05

Hi everyone. May I join too? I am 9st 10 right now which is right at the upper end of my healthy bmi and ideally I’d like to get back to 9st.

I had gestational diabetes twice which I know puts me at greater risk of t2 diabetes so it is really for my long term health that I want to lose a stone or so.

I haven’t been 9st since before kids (9 years ago!) so I’d be really proud if I could do it. I’ve just been 9st 10 to 10st 3lb for years…and years…and years. Vaguely dieting but getting nowhere.

I joined Noom a couple of weeks ago but really need the moral support/accountability to go along with it.

Minfor · 28/08/2023 19:15

Is it too late to join this? I'm not sure of my weight but I'm definitely the biggest I've ever been, and I've gained a lot very quickly (stressful year) so none of my clothes fit. A couple of days last week I went out in my pyjama bottoms because no other trousers fit :( Oh, and I haven't had a haircut for 6 months either. What a catch 😂

paperfarm · 28/08/2023 19:23

Hi everyone 👋

Ive been thinking about what to do. I need to stop eating rubbish when im shattered in the evenings. Need to really think about how i can make long term changes. Yep and lose the joggers! Long term health is the goal

lastminutewednesday · 28/08/2023 19:27

May I join too? I'm the fattest I've ever been after being the thinnest I've ever been this time three years ago.
I'm very sure I'm peri, but I've also been over eating and drinking and not taking care of myself at all.
I plan to start 16:8 and low carb tomorrow and knock the week day booze on the head (I've had great results with this before)
But also

30 mins light weights work out
A good walk
Call Dr and make an appointment re peri
Symptoms
Have booked hair appointment
Book to get my eyebrows sorted

I think I've three stone to lose. So cross with myself for having piled this weight on after being in great shape a few years ago.

JumpingGrassHopper · 28/08/2023 19:27

Well done everyone joining. This is the beginning of the best thing you'll ever do!

Today I've had; 2 exante shakes, 2 coffees, 50g beef jerky, 1 pack of snack a Jack's, 150g grapes, 1 muller bliss yoghurt.

Tomorrow I'll take protein bars and grapes to work alongside my shakes.

We can do this!!

September2023 · 28/08/2023 19:31

Can i join from tomorrow please? I have eaten my body weight in chocolate and crisps for the last 3 days. Period due any day ,so i will weight afterwards, but i think i have around 5-6kg to lose to be what i was this time last year.
Plan is to eat lower carb and definitely no crisps or chocolate Sunday till Friday.

6monthsto50 · 28/08/2023 19:31

I’m in start and will start tomorrow been drinking too much wine and eating too many nuts and crisps. Have a lot of weight to lose. SW tomorrow not looking forward to it but I will go and face the scales. No alcohol til Christmas for me.

amibeth1 · 28/08/2023 19:46

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join too?
I'm currently 83.1kg (which is far too much for my height!). I'd love to lose 10kg by my 40th birthday in December.
Recently back from our family holiday in the lakes and my six year old son is fitter than me!

TheOpeningActofSpring · 28/08/2023 20:20

I could do with joining too. I’m 5’7 and 15st 4lb. I’m going through ivf and the meds made me really bloated and gain weight, on top of me struggling to maintain a good weight anyway.

I’ve started low-carbing and generally eat more veg and fruit, and as natural and non upf as possible. Hoping that with school starting again (I’m a teacher) it will get easier.

Good luck everyone.

Pushkinini · 28/08/2023 20:35

I'm in. We've just been away for the weekend and I was shocked at exactly how fat I look. Could do with losing 4 stone but will settle for 2 to begin with. I've tried loads of diets over the years and am ok at sticking to it, until I don't, then I just go off the rails.

thelittlestbird · 28/08/2023 20:52

Me please. Need to get back on the calorie counting / protein tracking.

Trulee · 28/08/2023 21:16

Hello to the new joiners, you are very welcome.

I've downloaded coach to 5k, I'm not sure running is for me but will give it a go!

ManchesterLu · 28/08/2023 22:01

I'd love to join please.

I managed to lose 12st 12 years ago, which I then kept off until covid. Then through lockdown I just snacked and suffered with anxiety which meant I didn't go out much.. basically everything that makes you gain weight, I did.

Then I went on anti depressants to sort out my anxiety, which it has, but they've increased my appetite - which was already plenty big enough.

So I'm only a couple of stone off my heaviest weight again, and INCREDIBLY angry at myself for letting it get this far.

The problem is, I'll be good all week, but then I'll have a bad day, then I HAVE to have a massive takeaway and just eat until I feel physically sick.

And then once I've HAD a bad day, it takes a few more days to get my head back into being 'good' again.

So that just undoes any good I'd actually done during the week.

And I'm so, so fed up of it now. Something has to change. I look awful, I feel awful.

Dumbbellqueeninaswimmingcap · 28/08/2023 22:15

Can I join too please. I started to get my shit together last year (when my BMI was over 30) and lost just over a stone, the last half a stone was over June and early July after I started on HRT. I cried when I hit that stone mark as it had taken me so long. I’ve been slowly decreasing my carb in take and increasing my protein, whilst becoming more active- I swim a lot and walk with dumbbells (hence my username).

Unfortunately over the last few weeks it’s all gone to shit and I’ve put on about five pounds, with the kids being off I haven’t been able to get out as much but hoping to change that around next week when they go back to school. I do have an early morning swim booked for tomorrow morning. I do weigh myself most days and today I was 14.7. Hoping to lose another four.
I’m feeling a bit feral at the moment, haven’t had my haircut for a few months, just been tying it up (I hate trying to deal with my hair in the summer as it’s really thick) booked in to get it cut mid September. I’ve been keeping on top of my skincare but haven’t bothered with make up for months need to start making the effort again.

Clefable · 28/08/2023 22:16

Me please! I need to lose about 50lbs after two kids and a lot of chocolate. Doing IF as I am crap at calorie counting.

hby9628 · 28/08/2023 22:29

Me please! I shifted nearly 2 stone recently but I've been on hols and out at least 10lb back on.
I really need to get myself together and stop drinking the wine I brought back. It's a slipper slope

Lollyblue · 28/08/2023 22:36

Can I join in too please, got at least 3 stone to lose. Planning to start 16:8 fasting tomorrow

FiveShelties · 28/08/2023 23:02

waytootiredofthis · 28/08/2023 23:07

Can I join? I've recently lost a stone and a half, but since the summer hols started I've put back on half a stone. Want to lose a stone but would be happy with that half a stone back off for now! I'm also trying to get motivated to start the couch 2 5k..

JaneLockland · 28/08/2023 23:41

I am another one who needs to sort out my weight and my house @Allmarbleslost Blush

I have around 50lb to lose, will know for sure when I brave the scales and sob loudly tomorrow...

@oobladay what an awful thing to overhear and how utterly rude of them to comment!! Being this overweight has destroyed my confidence, I'm missing a school reunion as I just can't face seeing people. DP (several stone overweight himself!) is also constantly commenting on my weight, which doesn't help Confused

I looked at the Zoe plan @Pushmepullyou but it was v expensive at the time, was it worth the cost?

@1984Winston I joined a running group recently for a C25K course and it was amazing! I really enjoyed it and got up to running 5K. And then I hurt my foot and couldn't run, what an idiot...

Sorry to hear of the issues you've had with the antidepressants @ManchesterLu - would your GP be able to help if you discussed it with them? Maybe alternative medication or free access to slimming groups/ the gym, if that would be helpful?

@FiveShelties I'm hoping your username is about the dogs, Shelties are my favourite breed!

FiveShelties · 29/08/2023 03:04

@JaneLockland - yes I am a huge Sheltie lover, have had them all my life since my parents bought me one for Christmas when I was 6 years old!

This photo is of my gorgeous girl ...

Anyone up for a big fat sort out, starting tomorrow.
