0.5 definitely not working for me.

I've got one more week at that level, but think I might count my clicks to go up to 0.75 next week and use my 1mg pen to get as many more doses at that level that I can until it runs out.

SarahC50 · 11/01/2024 14:01

Hi Ladies, I've been on ozempic for 10months with my juniper, today I received a wegovy 1mg pen not an ozempic one. I know it is the same drug but has anyone noticed a difference switching to wegovy. Also if anyone has a click chart for 1mg wegovy pen I'd be grateful. Thankyou x

SarahC50 · 11/01/2024 14:06

Ignore me ladies I've found a click chart for wegovy.

Still interested if people felt any difference between ozempic and wegovy?

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 I've taken your advice cut some calories and the scales are shifting again. Wasn't as hard as I thought xx

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 11/01/2024 17:28

@SarahC50 glad to hear it!
Looking back I don't think I noticed any major differences doing the swap. If anything maybe slightly milder side effects, and maybe a smidge less effectiveness. But it's impossible to say because my side effects were always mild, and any reduction in side effects + effectiveness could also just be my tolerance increasing over time.
The thing that does seem to change things up for me is injection site. I now do the upper arms, alternating sides, in the soft bit. It just makes me feel better somehow.

SarahC50 · 11/01/2024 17:48

Thankyou @VanellopeVonSchweetz99 do you find less side effects injecting in the soft bit of your arm? I'm injecting into stomach just now and still nauseous.
That is what I've read that anecdotally wegovy has slightly less effect than ozempic x

Mt61 · 11/01/2024 18:07

How do you get prescribed Ozempic?

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 12/01/2024 00:18

@SarahC50 I never had nausea, and never did the stomach. I did the thighs for over six months but decided to try arms, had lost quite a bit of fat on my thighs and it was hurting/bruising more easily. Arms hurt a bit too, it takes more pressure to push in and hold rather than sit and push down into thigh imo.
I initially got less constipated (but could be a coincidence) and initially had a better effect, but could just be my imagination. That's also contradictory because a stronger effect should also give stronger side effects so who knows.

According to a discussion on reddit stomach has best effect but also most side effects. Apparently there's a munjaro study that shows injecting in the belly gives a higher concentration in the blood.

2kidsintow · 12/01/2024 09:05

My 0.5 hasnt really been working for me as I'd been at 0.75 before which had good results but had no choice but to drop down due to what the company was prepared to prescribe.

It was my last dose today, and there was spare in the pen so I had the 0.5 plus another ten clicks of what was left.

Woke up feeling sick. Oops.

SarahC50 · 12/01/2024 09:53

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 that is really interesting about the study. I started on thighs and moved to stomach as I'd read less side effects, who knows. I've had nausea throughout and more recently having moved up to 1mg the nausea is relentless and I'm really feeling I've had enough. On a lower dose 0.75 I stay the same and don't lose however I don't think I can bear this nausea all day every day.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 12/01/2024 10:23

Ha! Got to work and 5 of my class are off with a sickness bug so maybe it isnt the meds.

OP posts:
SarahC50 · 12/01/2024 12:27

@DrMadelineMaxwell maybe a seasonal bug then. Hope you don't catch it xx

DrMadelineMaxwell · 12/01/2024 14:15

Def a bug...just been spectacularly sick.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 13/01/2024 04:07

@SarahC50 sounds absolutely awful.
I have spent some time on reddit oz chats and some of the US posters seem to struggle massively with nausea. People there are suggesting increasing protein + "hydrate more than you ever imagined" + avoid dairy & fat in the evenings can help, as well as forcing yourself to have 5-6 small meals daily. Some are resorting to prescription anti nausea drugs.
Are you getting 50g + protein a day? That's my goal and it's not always easy but I try. Ideally would like to be over 80 g but it's also a balance with my calorie deficit. I'm not saying upping the protein will help you just because I personally have never had nausea, ie anecdotal evidence, but perhaps worth trying tweaking your diet and see if it makes a difference to the nausea? x

Just wondering if anyone has had any thyroid issues come up since taking Wygovy ?

I've been on it since October 23 and have lost 2st 4Ib - another 5 stone to go so a long journey ahead. Currently on 1mg but was thinking I'd have to go to the next dose sadly as feeling the hunger again and sadly have been 'picking'. I miss not thinking about about food ! had hoped to say on 1mg for longer so I still have somewhere to go if you know what I mean.

Been very lucky with side effects. Slight nausea but nothing major. The smaller doses did nothing for me after a few days of injecting though. I'm definitely not a super responder!

I've had a routine blood test and found my TSH levels to be low indicating overactive thyroid, as well as low levels in serum bloods (possible vitD and folic acid low) and some others. Google tells me about links in mice to thyroid tumours but nothing about possible effects to TSH levels - or is it just a coincidence ? Seeing Dr next week about the results but really don't want to come off Wygovy if at all possible.

SarahC50 · 17/01/2024 17:54

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 sorry for the delay replying I'm currently in Madeira on holiday. Good tips thankyou. I am vegan and try and eat only wholefoods I probably don't meet my protein targets and I am guilty of feeling low blood sugar and reaching for a sugary treat. I have three more 1mg pens left with juniper and I think I'll use the last two to taper off and maintain. The nausea has been daily since I started last march. The drug still has been a success for me and I'm happy to have lost lots.
I'm moving into the phase of really wanting to tone up and build muscle as after losing the weight it is very obvious how intoned I am and at 52 it isn't a good look.
How many more months do you plan to stay on it for weight loss? Hopefully lots of us will stay on this thread through tapering and maintenance as it is such a lovely thread x

SarahC50 · 17/01/2024 17:57

@tootiredtothink I have a family history of thyroid problems and I read up alot about it before starting ozempic. Were your thyroid bloods normal before starting ozempic? It could be incidental or it could be the ozempic what a pain if you have to come off it x

Whatsherusername · 17/01/2024 18:17

@tootiredtothink My thyroid bloods are spot on but i have developed a multi nodular goitre since being on ozempic which had some suspicious characteristics on ultrasound so was biopsied and am waiting for the results.

Circa1840 · 18/01/2024 08:10

Just hit 4 stone loss. 🥳Lost the extra couple of pounds going up to 1.25mg. So i am .5stone over my original goal. Took 11 months. Oh my gosh, it did the move up make me pretry sick for a couple of days. I couldn't imagine going up to 1.7 or even the 2.4 they are sending me.
I think I will now stick at 1mg going forward for a couple of months then drop down. Would love that we all keep on here with our maintenance journey.x

cordialzempy · 18/01/2024 08:36

Amazing @Circa1840! And everyone else with these brilliant losses! It's wonderful to be so much healthier and fitter and happier and have managed to stick at something for so long!
@DrMadelineMaxwell are you up for starting the new thread?? 💪🏼

cordialzempy · 18/01/2024 08:37

@Zempy I just realised that I must have subconsciously copied your username when I name changed for this thread! I'm so sorry! It's an homage, please take it as a compliment!! 😂

tootiredtothink · 18/01/2024 11:45

@SarahC50 Bloods were normal, I’d had a test a few months before I started. Fingers crossed I don’t have to come off it. It’s been hard this week to stop snacking as feel my dose isn’t working for me again, I’m dreading getting back to the food noise again.

@Whatsherusername good luck with your test results, hopefully everything will come back ok. Did they seem concerned about the ozempic?

Whatsherusername · 18/01/2024 13:29

@tootiredtothink Thanks! No wasnt concerned about the ozempic at all. The consultant i saw only deals in thyroid and breast cancer and he said he hasnt seen a case of thyroid cancer caused by ozempic and to carry on with it as thyroid cancer is highly treatable. So even if the ozempic has caused an issue, i would be much healthier at a lower bmi without my thyroid than obese with my thyroid!

How do you cope with Ozempic diarrhoea?

I've been on Oz since April and this is the fourth bout. It starts with sulphur burps, then my stomach starts making insane noises and then the diarrhoea starts.

It stops if I take Imodium but then I can't go to the loo for ages, Should I just ride it out and, if so, how long does it tend to last?

No sickness, nausea or other side effects.
