Thankyou for your understanding ladies @WeightWhat @Twilightstarbright I just feel it's so intrusive and to me demeaning the request for photos in tight active wear. I know I am oversensitive about it but it's just upsetting. I do carry most of my weight around my middle so it's no problem getting a vile pic it's just unsettling.

I hope to be on the 1mg for a couple of months then look at a maintenance dose. I hope the companies offer a range of dosages. Like others I am resigned to paying £225 a month for a year. For me it has been so worth every penny and I hope after a year to come off it.

Zempy · 10/12/2023 11:44

I am feeling really ill lads 🤢

I came to the end of a 1mg pen and there was some left over, probably about 15 clicks worth. So I injected that too.

Woke up in the night with dodgy stomach and feeling really sick this morning.

I think I will knock it on the head now until after Christmas and start back at 0.5

whenlifegivesyou · 10/12/2023 21:02

@Zempy I've lost about 9lb in about eight weeks. I went up to 1mg and had such a crap week of diarrhoea sulphur burps (the very worst side effect) and stomach pains. I veer from constipated to loose. It's hell since I went to 0.5 and then 1 I'm quitting

SarahC50 · 11/12/2023 14:32

@Zempy and @whenlifegivesyou sorry to hear you are unwell. I'm in a similar situation had been up to 0.75 no probs most recently 0.5mg. Last Wednesday went up to 1mg and anticipated some nausea but no I've been violently vomiting all weekend. My stomach is agony like gastritis. I'm going to let the 1mg get out my system and go back to 0.5.
I honestly felt I was dying and am washed out and queasy today.
Sorry to hear both of you have had bad side effects too,it's a brutal drug x

Superlambaanana · 11/12/2023 19:26

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling very ill. I'm only 6 weeks in and have stayed at 0.25mg, partly because I'm worried about feeling sick and so far the 0.25mg is still working ok for me. I'm doing intermittent fasting and the 0.25mg has made that relatively easy and reduced my appetite on normal eating days too. I've been losing about 2lb per week.

Do any of you have any advice for me - did anyone else combine an intermittent fasting diet? Is 2lb a week an ok rate of weight loss or should I just up the dose to accelerate the weight loss?

I have 3 stone to lose to get to normal bmi so at 2lb a week, it should take me about 6 months in total. I'm keen to embed the lifestyle changes so I can hopefully maintain after I stop injecting. I really can't afford to do it forever and so would like to stop after 6 months anyway. But could I achieve the same outcome in less time if i upped the dose now?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 11/12/2023 19:35

@Superlambaanana I've combined it with IF. Until 2 weeks ago I hadn't gone above 0.5 and lost nearly 3.5 stone since late April. I'm now in the 9 stone bracket and at healthy BMI and fat %.

I've definitely noticed the food noise coming back but I think I'm better at ignoring it. I went up to 0.75 a couple of weeks ago and wasn't great on it last week, so may reduce to 0.625; I'm clearly very sensitive to it!

Superlambaanana · 11/12/2023 20:30

@TheWayOfTheWorld thanks that's helpful. Sounds like you have been losing about 2lb a week on average then? You must be delighted. I can't see me ever getting to the 9 stone zone, but a normal bmi and some new habits would make me v happy. How long did you stay on 0.25mg. I suppose it would be wishful thinking to think i could stay on it for the full 6 months, but I'm having no side effects so far so don't want to go up until i absolutely have to. Food noise is still quiet 6 weeks in thank goodness.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 11/12/2023 20:40

I was on 0.25 for 6 weeks and then went up to 0.5. For the first 3-4 weeks of 0.5 I suffered horribly in the day or two following injection (sulphur burps, nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting) and then it settled down thankfully.

The loss wasn't linear - I'd say in the last 3 months I've lost on average 3-4 lbs a month, I lost a lot quicker in the first 3 months or so.

Superlambaanana · 11/12/2023 21:01

I know a lot of people adjust the dose to an increment rather than going up a step from 0.25 to 0.5 in one go. That is tempting.

Has anyone experimented with more frequent injections of the lower dose?

E.g. if I took a 0.25mg dose every 5 days instead of every 7 days I'd be getting somewhere between 0.25 and 0.5mg over the space of 7 days.

I tried this when I got a bit of a stall over the summer, it didn't work.

user1492757084 · 12/12/2023 06:42

Loved it. Have just stopped due to hearing association with Pancreatic Cancer??? very disappointed.

Superlambaanana · 12/12/2023 07:40

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa do you mean you tried more frequent doses rather than going straight up to the next recommended dose? Did it not curb your appetite enough or did you still get bad side effects? I'm still finding 0.25mg is working to curb my appetite after 6 weeks. So seems silly to jump up to 0.5mg and risk side effects (and more expense) if I don't need to.

Obesity also is a risk factor for pancreatic cancer - much more so than ozempic. And many other life limiting conditions.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 13/12/2023 11:45

Hi all, just checking in, sorry to hear some are not feeling well.
I've lost nearly 5 stone in nine months, it's been life changing. Stayed on 0.25 O for about 8 weeks, currently on 1.7 W. In the 9 stone something bracket now, waist 29 inches, BMI just over 23. I'm 50+ and short. Been really lucky with great response and few side effects, but I have also been v disciplined, tracking everything and in extreme calorie deficit 80% of the time under 1000 a day, which isn't for everyone as you need to be highly organized to get all the nutrients and it certainly flirts with disordered eating.

Just back from an intense work trip + some fun with no tracking + plenty of treats for a week. Weigh-in day with some trepidation, not weighed myself in 2 weeks. But I have maintained, which gives me hope for the future. I think my maintain number is around 1500 kcal/day (not much at all really, no wonder I was obese). I'm committed to life style changes for life because I never want to go back to how things were. But could I do this without the appetite suppressing effect? I just don't know.

Superlambaanana · 14/12/2023 07:30

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 wow. Really well done you. Very encouraging. But agree that we've probably all been misled into thinking that having three meals a day and a few treats is normal. Generations before us had tiny portions compared to us, far fewer temptations like processed food and had time to cook as women hadn't yet been inducted into the workforce to become additional 'economic units' to drive more growth to feed the fat cats! Cynical I know, but I do feel the cards are stacked against us. Including that once we stop taking Wegovy we'll most likely rebound. 🙄

WhyDoesItAlways · 14/12/2023 10:41

I think our plate sizes have a lot to answer for. I've been trying to find smaller dinner plates (mostly so I can fit them in my dishwasher without the spinny thing catching them) but so far I've only been able to find giant plates. Growing up our dinner plates were more the size of modern side plates with a big patterned rim around them. Nowadays they all seem to be rimless dustbin lids. I should probably just use side plates but that seems maybe a bit too small for dinner.

Menora · 14/12/2023 13:04

@WhyDoesItAlways i eat my food from bowls for this reason, always looks more when the bowl is full up

Movinghouseatlast · 14/12/2023 14:46

I'm so pissed off. I've put on 3lbs in the last 3 weeks. So instead of getting to 11 stone for Christmas I'm looking at possibly, if I eat hardly anything, being what I was 3 weeks ago.

It has scared me actually because it's making me feel that I'm just going to put it all back on as soon as I stop as I'm gaining whilst taking it.

I have eaten some 'bad' things but only
A cheese and onion pasty
A rum punch
A packet of crisps
2 chocolate biscuits.
A normal Sunday roast ( I only had two potatoes though)
A portion of chocolate bread and butter pudding with cream
3 mini mince pies ( 60 calories each)
2 mini Yorkshire puddings

Written down it does look a lot...but that's in 3 weeks doing 'Christmas ' socialising. The rest of the time I've eaten high protein lots of vegetables. I even had a bowl of fucking SOUP at a pub meal when everyone else was chowing down on fish and chips. Sigh.

Athena51 · 14/12/2023 15:44

Just had an email from WeightWatchers saying that they are starting a special version of the programme for people who are on GLP-1s which actually seems like a good idea to get some support. As it becomes more mainstream I'm sure there will be more support that isn't tied to where you purchase the drug from.

SarahC50 · 14/12/2023 17:53

@VanellopeVonSchweetz99 fantastic results and what a brilliant waist measurement!

Life changing isn't it. Do you plan to lose anymore or start maintaining? I have ten pounds to lose that realistically will take me to end Feb/march.

Your waistline is amazing especially for ladies our age. I'm happiest to have lost my ginormous boobs,I had a huge matronly shelf it was so ageing.

I'm loving buying clothes again. Having gone through four dress sizes I've bought mainly from eBay. It has done my self esteem wonders losing this weight. Are you enjoying a new wardrobe?

I'm 52 and my maintenance calories are similar, 1500 which I'm fine with. After eating so strictly for months on ozempic it doesn't seem so bad.

I used to eat man sized portions out of those huge pasta bowls. Told myself because it was vegan and home made I could eat huge portions.

I probably ate 3000 calories plus a day, three huge meals plus snacks and evening eating junk. No wonder I was obese.

I've shifted to eating off smaller plates and really trying to listen to my satiety feelings.

I think I'll always struggle with mindless hoovering of crap though

I finally submitted my pics to juniper and was approved for another six months of 1mg ozempic. Reassuring to know it is there if I need it. I'm going to stay on a dose for 6-12 months to maintain.

Did you see Oprah has stated she has used ozempic

Good luck ladies x

TheWayOfTheWorld · 14/12/2023 18:18

I'm about to go up to 1.7, I can barely cope with 0.75 😅 - will just eke out the pen for as long as possible (think it's 6-8 weeks) and stash the next monthly one in the fridge for a bit.

leilani83 · 14/12/2023 18:33

Does anyone else experience this: I can get hungry but it goes away if I wait even if I don't eat anything. A few times I've actually forgotten to have lunch because of one thing or another and even if I've felt hugry at some point it just goes away on its own. Then it feels too late for lunch so I think I might as well just wait until dinner. 🤐

leilani83 · 14/12/2023 18:36

Which is unheard of for me as I'm usually dependent on a steady stream of carbs to keep my body and mood on an even keel! 😆

DrMadelineMaxwell · 14/12/2023 21:39

I had the full 1mg for the first time and managed to completely not realise that I had missed lunch yesterday (busy over lunchtime at work). It was only when I was hungry at 5pm that I realised I'd last eaten at 7am.
