Must remember to update my username! Like most I have used My Juniper for Ozempic since late January but for the last few months have been on a low dose which has resulted in a lonnngggg plateau. On Saturday decided to register with Boots and after the shock of the selfie request! was approved Sunday and picked up the 1st Wegovy pen this evening. I’m to start on 1mg per week which is better than My Juniper and I prefer picking up from a local store.

Weight loss to date 4 stone, BMI still approx 33, will see if I can get the other two stone off in the next couple of months!

SarahC50 · 17/10/2023 19:52

So good to hear about the good service from boots. Especially for those of us on lower doses paying alot from juniper etc. Competition is healthy and will push the price down I hope

@FatandNearlyFifty four stone,bloody marvellous

TheWayOfTheWorld · 17/10/2023 20:06

I would love to move to Boots but I'm now not far off a 25 BMi so they probably wouldn't have me? Even though I could probably do with knocking off another stone or so (I'm only just over 5 ft)

RunningAndSinging · 17/10/2023 20:23

I managed to order a 1.7 mg from Quickmeds. I imagine I will get a phone call though as they say it is on a case by case basis on their website. I think it is the starting BMI that needs to be over 30 so you may be ok moving over to Boots if you give them your full history @TheWayOfTheWorld .

TheWayOfTheWorld · 17/10/2023 20:25

@RunningAndSinging ah ok, possibly worth a try. Juniper are saying that 1ml will come in late Nov/early Dec so that's another 2 pens at 0.5 (possibly 3, depending on when they move me across). They've also closed the slack group and moved to FB which I'm not touching with a bargepole Hmm

FatandNearlyFifty · 17/10/2023 20:46

@SarahC50 thank you! @TheWayOfTheWorld on the registration page there is space to type out some details, think it said anything else to tell us section. I gave full history of when started Mj starting weight and BMI, current dose, issues with supplies and plateau etc and tbh thought they’d prescribe 0.25. Was delighted when they approved and said start at 1. Maybe give it a go?

ticktock19 · 18/10/2023 08:46

I saw on a Facebook post last night that Asda online docs are selling WeGovy now and prices are from £169 for the 0.25, 0.5 and 1mg.

Movinghouseatlast · 18/10/2023 11:25

I'm just shocked that I've ordered a 1mg pen from Boots after Manual have kept me on .5mg for MONTHS!

I'm now going to cancel Manual, but I'm a bit worried about what will happen if supply issues kick in again

Diedre44 · 18/10/2023 13:03

I've just been having a look on my NHS app I don't recall when I signed up to it (think possibly during Covid) but I recalled you could access a list of prescribed medications. I have always opted for my GP to be informed when ordering my pens. My last 3 entries for Ozempic orders/prescriptions on there all have a side note in bold stating "NOT TO BE PRESCRIBED BY THIS SURGERY" 🤔
My synical mind is working overtime as to why not. Strange...

In the blurb I got from boots it said if supply issues happen they would try and maintain customers on a lower dose as its better to maintain than to stop and start again.

Athena51 · 17/10/2023 12:04

Yes they do so you can tailor the dose through clicks just like the Ozempic pens.

Thank you - this is a relief!

Cabbage4eva · 18/10/2023 14:38

I haven't been on this thread in months due to the Juniper holding pattern but now I'm reading through the posts and very impressed with everyone's progress. Inspiring!

CaptinKitty · 18/10/2023 16:07

Pleased to have learned about it being on offer via boots.

I’ve been doing 1.5mg for the last month and a half, but it’s been very expensive having to buy both the 1mg and 5mg doses separately. I wanted to go up to 1.7mg on wegovy, but haven’t had any joy getting it via the online pharmacies I was using. Have put in the application via boots to see if they can supply it instead.

I reached 3 stone 2lb weight loss today (since starting at the end of March). This weekend I wore a cardigan I hadn’t worn in about 7 years and really loved style wise, but couldn’t fit into any longer. It felt like such a milestone.

wellrestedmum · 18/10/2023 16:11

I've just signed up to Boots Wegovy. I have so far taken one dose of 0.25 Ozempic and due my next one tomorrow, so I am at the beginning of my journey. I bought the 0.25 Ozempic from Right Angled and they were good but I wanted the Boots points! Also the fact that Wegovy is the weight loss "version" and seems to have higher doses available if needed. I haven't felt much (anything?) with my first injection of 0.25.

Peridot1 · 18/10/2023 16:28

@CaptinKitty - they approved 1.7 for me with no problem. I was on 1.5 of Ozempic too. So happy to be able to get it from Boots.

@wellrestedmum 0.25 is a really low starting dose to get you adjusted to the medication. Some people feel it straight away but others don’t. Just keep with it and trust the process.

gingerbubs · 18/10/2023 19:17

@CaptinKitty Boots approved me at 1.7mg when up til now I've been on 1mg from quickmeds/bury so I'm sure you'll have no bother. Thanks to those who flagged up that Boots were taking new customers! I'm also delighted about the points aspect. I have just over a stone to go until I'm in the healthy weight range so am hoping to hit that by Christmas.

SwimmingFree · 18/10/2023 20:48

I wish I'd asked for 1.7! I'll ask to go up next month. I got my text message today to say my wegovy is in my local boots. Fab! Long May this continue! I'm going to cancel myjuniper

nebulae · 19/10/2023 09:20

I've made the decision to stop using wegovy. I've been having episodes of fast heart rate the last few weeks which is worrying. It might be nothing to do with the medication but it started when I switched to wegovy. I'd been fine on ozempic, very few side effects. I know they have the same active ingredient but it's strange that these symptoms started as soon as I switched. I'll stop using it and see what happens.

That seems sensible to give it a break and see what happens. Then you'll know if it was wegovy or not. Hope all is ok.

SwimmingFree · 19/10/2023 11:43

Just had an email to say Superdrug are now dispensing wygovy but only to a few pharmacies. Just incase these suit anyone:

📍 Doncaster, DN1 1PZ
📍 Holborn, WC1V 7DA
📍 Huyton, L36 9UJ
📍 Largs, KA30 8AU
📍 Newton Abbot, TQ12 4PT
📍 Rutherglen, G73 2LS
📍 Sudbury, CO10 1RB
📍 Thornton Heath, CR7 7JG
📍 Tunstall, ST6 5EA
📍 Wolverhampton, WV1 3NJ

DrMadelineMaxwell · 19/10/2023 17:48

I can't get it from boots as their online thing says they are only prescribing to people who have already been on their saxenda programme. How are others getting it? It is because you were already being prescribed something by boots?

Athena51 · 19/10/2023 18:12

I've ordered from Asda, efficient process I had to supply a photo showing my feet on the scales and my weight Smile and a full body photo. I thought i might not get it but I explained my Ozempic weight loss journey and they approved it. Good price as well. Should arrive Saturday.

Have you checked recently? It said that originally but in the last few days it's been opened to new people.

SwimmingFree · 19/10/2023 18:21

I just collected my wegovy prescription from Boots. They gave me an additional bag with about 30 needles in it. No idea why? The wegovy has the usual 4 needles in the box. Odd!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 19/10/2023 21:02

Just checked today. Maybe it's regional???
I'll try again at a different time of the day and see what happens.

It showed a price of £191 so I'm blowed if I'm paying £100 more for the same thing if I can help it until they open up ordering to others.
