About to do my first W dose today after 7 months on O. Currently on 1mg and have 0,5 O left in my final pen so thought I'd do half half.
Does anyone know how many clicks 0,5 Wegovy would be please?
I saw on reddit someone saying 1mg is 72 clicks, but unsure if you can still administer with clicks or if it's all or nothing with the W pens.

WeightInLine · 15/10/2023 10:58

@Zempy I quite often feel nauseous in the morning until I have had something to eat. It’s worse if I’ve had vitamins overnight or similar that might irritate my stomach. It was worse in the first weeks after going up a dose.

Lavendersquare · 15/10/2023 13:27

I've been on ozempic since March and follow this thread but rarely post on here myself.

But I'm posting today as today I've weighed and I'm exactly 3 stone lighter than when I took my first dose on 2 March. I was 15 stone when I started and I'm now 12 stone, a number I haven't seen on the scales for at least 17 years!

I'm no longer obese just overweight and I can wear pretty much everything in my wardrobe that I kept from my slimmer days. The funny thing is some of the things I hung onto are now so out of style that they've gone to the charity shop after all.

I've still got 11 pounds to lose to get into the elusive healthy weight category and I'm hopeful I'll get there by the new year.

With regards to ozempic, I've been getting mine from MyJuniper who have been fab, my dose has reduced due to supply issues but I've not had to scour the internet like some of you have.

I definitely couldn't have done this without ozempic, I've either lost or stayed the same every single week, which is unheard of for me.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 15/10/2023 13:38

@Lavendersquare That's amazing, congratulations. I've lost a similar amount since March and did a massive charity shop donation yesterday, clothes I had held on to that now fit me again but are out of style (and also my taste has changed). I must say I'm thoroughly enjoying treating myself to some new bits and bobs.
This year's weight loss experience has made me reflect on many things, like how I've been really bad at looking after my own needs and how I want to change that going forward.

SwimmingFree · 15/10/2023 21:21

I'm with Myjuniper and have been since January, it's also the best money I've ever spent! I've lost 3st and 5lbs but still have lots and lots to go!

I'm getting a bit annoyed with Myjuniper though and not convinced they are going to move us on to 1mg from November. Especially that they are now supplying .25mg pens with 8 needles!

I've seen Boots have now opened their ordering so considering moving to them, they are cheaper and you get your boots points, I'm just not sure if they'll supply me 1mg or not and I'm a bit scared to move away from myjuniper when I've stuck with them all this time!

SarahC50 · 16/10/2023 08:06

@SwimmingFree I'm in the same boat. I've been with my juniper since march, I'm due my next pen 11/11 and I've emailed them to check if it's 1mg as they had previously stated. I really hope it is. I'm the same I don't want the stress of scrabbling for supply. Interesting that boots are starting I'm concerned as my BMI is now under 30 that a new supplier wouldn't take me on.

@Lavendersquare that is brilliant, very well done you should be proud of yourself. I've lost slightly less than yourself since the end of march but agree it's been life-changing. I couldn't manage on the 1400 calories I'm on I'm 52 and chronically ill so recommended that, without ozempic. The more time goes on the more I am thinking of staying on a maintenance dose. Thinking of trying 0.25 to make it more affordable. Are others thinking of trying to stay on it long term? X

LittleDitto · 16/10/2023 11:50

I’ve been left high and dry by Juniper so I now have 1 infection left. I’ve been stretching it out for as long as I possibly can but I just can’t afford it any more and they really have screwed their customers over.

however I’ve lost so much weight and am now the same weight as I was over 20 years ago! I would have liked to lose another stone where I would be at my ultimate goal weight.

I’m determined to be careful and do the best I can without it. It’s quite an intimidating thought and the fact that you never think of food when you’re on it has been such a huge relief. I’m not sure what this means long term but it’s not like you’re supposed to be on it forever anyway. I really don’t want to go back to being 3 stone heavier.

Peridot1 · 16/10/2023 12:03

I have moved over to Boots with no issues. Am currently on 1.5mg of Ozempic and I was honest filling out the consultation with Boots. I gave my current weight and height. I’m not obese any more but still have two stone to go to goal. I got a quest from them and then they phoned me and the pharmacist I spoke to was happy to prescribe me with 1.7mg of Ozempic. So it’s worth trying Boots,@LittleDitto and @SwimmingFree.

tracy200 · 16/10/2023 16:32

Can I ask how much Boots charge for 1.7 Wegovy? Thanks.

SwimmingFree · 16/10/2023 16:52

Thanks very much @Peridot1

I've been approved for 1mg Wegovy with Boots. It's £199 and boots points too! I'm very pleased. Plus I can pick up from local boots, no waiting in for deliveries.

The process so far was really straightforward and I'm hoping after a month I'll move up to 1.7 wegovy.

Peridot1 · 16/10/2023 17:03

@tracy200 - it was £250. £75 less than Quick Meds.

@SwimmingFree - that’s great! I was surprised they let me have 1.7 to be honest but they did. The pharmacist was confused I had been on 1.5 of Ozempic and asked me had I not gone up to 2mgof Ozempic. I told her I’d never seen a 2mg Ozempic pen and it was expensive enough getting 1.5 in two pens of 1mg and 0.5.

I probably should have asked to go straight onto 1.7 but I thought it safer to ask for 1mg since officially I've only been prescribed 0.5 for the last couple of months with my juniper.

I'm really pleased with the boots process so far. I'm going to cancel myjuniper now

tracy200 · 16/10/2023 21:16

Thank you. I’ll try Boots as the price is more reasonable.

I've been on Ozempic since April. Juniper says it will switch me to Wegovy. Does anyone know if the Wegovy comes in the same dial-a-dose FlexTouch pens that the Ozempic comes in? I like the flexibility of being able to stay on the lowest effective dose.

Yes they do so you can tailor the dose through clicks just like the Ozempic pens.

WhyDoesItAlways · 17/10/2023 13:19

Thank you @peridot for the heads up about boots. I signed up for email alerts when wegovy was available but didn't hear anything so had no idea they were actually stocking it.

I did their online consultation this morning and have had approval through just now. Just waiting for the text to let me know when I can collect then I'll be cancelling my juniper subscription.

I spied a bit in the blurb about 10% off subsequent pens ordered too.

Kfjsjdbd · 17/10/2023 14:30

If you order through Boots do they check your weight when you go and collect it from the pharmacy?

ticktock19 · 17/10/2023 14:44

@Kfjsjdbd no they didn't when I went yesterday to pick mine up and I would not have been impressed if they did, mind you I do look obviously overweight so I don't think there's any question that I need it.

SwimmingFree · 17/10/2023 15:49

@ticktock19 how long did you wait for the notification between approval to being able to collect from boots?

I was approved yesterday morning but still waiting for confirmation I can collect.

ticktock19 · 17/10/2023 15:58

@SwimmingFree I had the confirmation message from the online dr last Monday and the text that it was in store by Wednesday morning. I called in on the Wednesday at lunchtime but the delivery hadn't yet been sorted so they asked if I could wait 30 mins. I'm currently finishing a pen so wasn't in an immediate rush so called back on the Thursday and it was ready to be collected

Peridot1 · 17/10/2023 16:00

@SwimmingFree - I was told it could take up to five days to get the text notification to collect mine. I haven’t had it yet.

Sorry, that doesn't make sense 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. I called back yesterday to collect it and all was fine but as I was going to call back another day then it would have been ready from Thursday to collect.

Stripedfluffysocks · 17/10/2023 16:18

Anyone know if boots in Northern Ireland is supplying the pens?
Its become a nightmare to get them here according to my friend

SwimmingFree · 17/10/2023 16:40

Thanks @ticktock19 and @Peridot1 I'm being impatient Wink

I have not cancelled myjuniper yet was waiting until I've got my wegovy from boots.
