So are they also saying that if you’re currently on 1.0 Ozempic then you have to go back to 0.25 for Wegovy?

That truly doesn’t make any sense to me.

RunningAndSinging · 05/09/2023 16:24

It’s all they have in stock.

I'm surprised they are so high. They were one of the last to up the price of ozempic!

nebulae · 05/09/2023 17:44

Chemist4U also seem to only have 0.25 wegovy Or at least that's all they're offering me.

Rightangled have 0.5 wegovy, only 1 left though.

greylad · 05/09/2023 18:08

I feel if you are 6-9 months down the line, at this point even 1.0 isn’t always working as well as it used to. Spending £250 on a 0.25 pen you may as well be injecting water. It’s nothing but profiteering from the companies and not at all in line with the research protocols. Angry

nebulae · 05/09/2023 18:16

Quickmeds website is carnage. I can get as far as selecting 1mg wegovy but when I go to my basket it's empty. Suspect that means they've sold out already.

Prettybubblesintheair · 05/09/2023 18:17

it looks like everywhere is only going to have 0.25 or 0.5 at the most to begin with. So disappointing.

mathis2006 · 05/09/2023 18:33

Anybody managed to get a pen from quickmeds?

egowise · 05/09/2023 18:40

Has anybody seen the pics of the boxes? It looks like they are one pen per month, but .25 and .5 have a smaller bit where the liquid goes?

I managed to get a 1mg pen from QuickMeds

nebulae · 05/09/2023 18:54

@HettaCr Wegovy? If so, well done...you shall be our guinea pig 😊

mathis2006 · 05/09/2023 19:01

@HettaCr well done! I am hoping to get my hands on a 1.7 pen, but looking very unlikely.

Yes, it was a wegovy pen. Lol, wish me luck as the Guinea pig Wink

@HettaCr well done! I am hoping to get my hands on a 1.7 pen, but looking very unlikely.

Try again tomorrow at 1pm. My aim is to get the one I ordered delivered and then immediately after order the 1.7mg pen. I am worried that demand far exceeds supply and soon there will hardly anything around like how it went for Ozempic. I would like to have that 2 month buffer. Hopefully by the time I will need to order the 2.4mg pen the cost should be lower. Fingers crossed.

mathis2006 · 05/09/2023 19:32

@HettaCr good plan.

RunningAndSinging · 05/09/2023 19:35

I was holding out for a 1.7 mg pen but it just showed out of stock and didn’t change. Great that HettaCr got a 1 mg - shows there are some out there at least.

Prettybubblesintheair · 05/09/2023 22:31

Has anyone seen 1.7mg in stock?

Cantonet · 06/09/2023 10:41

Has anyone in this thread stopped & restarted again? I've had a 6 week break due to the shortages & switched to Mysimba. But I can't cope with the resultant hot flushes caused by the Mysimba. So I've ordered another 0.25 pen from Rightangled. I'm just wondering whether to start on 0.25 or 0.5mg Ozempic.

liz4change · 06/09/2023 11:52

Hi everyone I haven't posted much but have now lost 10kg in 3 and a half months. Dose has never been above 0.5 due to shortages. I have 6kg to go to get to a 25 BMI.

I feel so much better.

Paying for prescriptions for a relative who should be a candidate for NHS prescription (very high BMI, Type 2 diabetes, high BP, breathing difficulties) but whose diabetes clinic and GP won't prescribe. I get the distinct sense that this is more to do with poor awareness than anything else. Any suggestions in how she could run this conversation, our current plan is that I'll keep paying for her prescriptions until the NHS position improves.

leilani83 · 06/09/2023 12:04

I'm going to sit tight, take my remaining few 0.25mg doses of Ozempic and hope the price of Wegovy becomes more reasonable towards the end of the year! Right now I have Covid and seem to losing despite not doing any exercise!!!

mathis2006 · 06/09/2023 13:14

@Cantonet if you are happy to start at 0.25, I would go with chemist 4 U, they have the cheapest prices.

Cantonet · 06/09/2023 13:34

Thanks @mathis2006.
The only problem is there's more doses in the Ozempic 0.25 pen compared to the Wegovy pen. So it makes sense to order the Ozempic for the first couple of months. But then the issue is, will providers then let you switch over to the larger Wegovy doses without starting all over again?

nebulae · 06/09/2023 13:44

I managed to get 1mg wegovy from QM at 1pm, looks like they've sold out again now.
