Very disappointed with quickmeds prices. I will wait to see where else I can source before buying from them

MotherofTerriers · 05/09/2023 10:43

Quickmeds does look expensive. I'm holding fire - If Boots, Asda etc get stock then I'd expect prices to drop

NotABeliever · 05/09/2023 11:30

Hi guys, I've ordered 1 mg pen from Bury Healthcare but they're ignoring my emails and calls. Has anyone had the same problem and did you get the product or a refund or do I have to accept they're stolen my money?

Kfjsjdbd · 05/09/2023 11:42

@NotABeliever when did you order? I’ve ordered 3 pens with them and had no issue. Calling is definitely the best way to reach them. They have always answered the phone when I have called it.

They have said these are likely to change. So keep an eye out.

NotABeliever · 05/09/2023 11:56

@Kfjsjdbd
I did call them and they said they need to ask me a few questions because it's the first order I placed with them but no one has phoned and they are ignoring emails.b

RunningAndSinging · 05/09/2023 12:22

@NotABeliever a few of us have worried about Bury but we have all had the delivery in the end. They are a bit slow and the BACS payment feels strange as it is different but they haven’t stolen anyone’s money that has been reported on here.

Poppyseeds03 · 05/09/2023 12:29

I just ordered a pen from Rightangled - they want me to send photo ID (passport or driving license). Is this normal? Why do they need it? 🤔
Has anyone else had this?

RunningAndSinging · 05/09/2023 12:33

Quickmeds have updated to say that anyone who has had a break of more than 2 weeks will need to start on 0.25mg and that they don’t expect Wegovy supplies to ‘last indefinitely’. In some ways it would have been better to launch when they were more confident of supplies and when there wasn’t a patient safety notice in place saying not to prescribe semaglutides for weight loss in the UK.

At least with Ozempic the 0.25 mg pen was cheaper and had extra doses in it. The 0.25 mg Wegovy is really expensive and doesn’t have the extra so getting started has become much more expensive.

nebulae · 05/09/2023 12:44

@Poppyseeds03 yes, I had to upload driving licence when I ordered from Rightangled. No problems, order was delivered next day.

MotherofTerriers · 05/09/2023 13:00

Thing is, how do quickmeds know that you've had a break? I've been getting supplies from 3 different pharmacies.

NotABeliever · 05/09/2023 13:04

Thank you @RunningAndSinging
That's reassuring

KateWick · 05/09/2023 13:12

Any idea what Juniper might charge? I’m due another pen from them this week and ofc it’s on hold so hoping they keep the price.

That’s a very good question. Lloyds pharmacy are, like Boots, only selling to existing Saxenda patients and I see they only have 0.25 mg in stock. I wonder how much of the supplies to the UK are 0.25mg.

MotherofTerriers · 05/09/2023 13:14

I suppose they could ask to see a photo of a box with a date sticker on, but some suppliers didn't put a sticker on the box and not everyone keeps the box. Plus I was buying 0.25 from Rightangled when I couldn't get anything else and stabbing myself 4 times.....

wearedoingthis · 05/09/2023 13:41

Boots do let you order online if you click you are an existing member and you can choose 1mg

The order will fall through at collection won't it....

wearedoingthis · 05/09/2023 13:42

I feel so desperate to get back on the treatment

I so know what you mean @wearedoingthis I have been off it for a few weeks now and feel so much worse! Getting anxious about getting back on it, really hope these issues resolve soon 😕
It's miserable when it made such a positive impact on my life to now not be able to get it 😟

Twilightstarbright · 05/09/2023 13:52

I know it’s still expensive but £200 for 1mg is better than the £300 I paid Rightangled for.

I’m now thinner than I was at my wedding 11 years ago which feels surreal. I feel like my brain has caught up and I keep staring at myself in fascination because I look SO different. I keep buying clothes on Vinted which are too big as I can’t get my head around needing a smaller size.

I’m hoping to lose about 7lb more then start to reduce the dose/maintain my weight.

leilani83 · 05/09/2023 14:15

I've just filled in the Boots assessment and even gave my card details but not expecting to be approved as I said I'm on Saxenda although I'm not! As people above have said, we are desperate...

I only have about 10kg left to lose but I'm still overweight and have been stuck at the same weight all summer and worry about putting the weight back on when my pen runs out. Currently eking out my last Ozempic pen at 0.25mg a dose and not losing...

Me too. The food noise is absolutely unreal. I never realised how much I used to think about food, what I was going to have next, when I was going to have it. It’s shocking.

I am still classed as overweight according to BMI and I so desperately wanted to go down firmly into the normal category!

ticktock19 · 05/09/2023 14:42

Just had this email - doesn't say strengths but price is a bit lower, I've never ordered through them either but would hope they're legit
