@Roughyed I too am disappointed at the huge prices I had hoped with more competition and availability the price would go down. With the price being so high and inflexibility of dose it's a no from me x

Roughyed · 04/09/2023 14:32

@SarahC50 I didn't expect a massive cut in prices, but maybe a return to what they were a couple of months ago. Seems like Boots are setting the prices to the current 'shortage' market.

Knock £30-£50 off maybe.

RunningAndSinging · 04/09/2023 14:59

The Mayfair Clinic is slightly better:

0.25mg (temporarily out of stock) £175.00
0.5mg (temporarily out of stock) £175.00
1.0mg (temporarily out of stock) £185.00
1.7mg (temporarily out of stock) £239.00
2.4mg (temporarily out of stock) £295.00

and actually the value in the 2.4mg pen is not bad at £123/£124.50 for 4 mg (equivalent to the 4 dose 1mg pen).

mathis2006 · 04/09/2023 15:15

Hoping the doses will be flexible

mathis2006 · 04/09/2023 15:32

It looks like it is a flexible pen so a 2.4mg to 9.6 doses of 1mg.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 04/09/2023 16:10

Also really disappointed in the pricing, was hoping for much less.

cordiality · 04/09/2023 16:14

If anyone needs a backup while waiting for Wegovy, I just bought 1mg from Rightangled

greylad · 04/09/2023 16:15

How much was that @cordiality? Do they want photos etc?

Kfjsjdbd · 04/09/2023 16:16

So the Wegovy 1mg is £185 at Mayfair, but the general price of Ozempic 1mg is £299. Are they the same thing? That’s pretty good I think from a pricing perspective. And will hopefully take the heat off Ozempic so the price of that will reduce?

cordiality · 04/09/2023 16:22

It's £300 @greylad and they didn't ask me for photos, but I'm a regular buyer from them so I just clicked on buy again and it happened to be in stock - not sure what the process is for others

MissConducUS · 04/09/2023 16:26

I worry the wegovy will be too high a dose for me to tolerate due to side effect x

Wegovy comes in a range of doses - 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1.0mg, 1.7mg and 2.4mg. I just had my fourth dose of Wegovy 0.25mg and will move up to 0.5mg next week. My doctor said I can stay on 0.5mg for as long as I want if I'm getting good results with it.

I've had no side effects at all on the 0.25mg dose and have lost 12 pounds in three and a half weeks. It's amazing.

I read somewhere that Wegovy was available from the NHS if you meet very strict criteria. I'm in the US and have had no problem getting Wegovy and it's fully paid by my medical insurance.

MotherofTerriers · 04/09/2023 17:14

I've got enough Ozempic to last me a few weeks so I'm going to wait and see what happens with prices. If supplies improve the price will surely be lower than the current £300
On the other hand if I wait too long I'll fall off the regular customer list - although I suspect that will be less important once there are decent supplies

ticktock19 · 04/09/2023 17:23

I agree @MotherofTerriers, that's my strategy too. I've enough to last me 6 weeks so will watch and hope stock continues and prices fall

ticktock19 · 04/09/2023 17:30

Chemist4U update

Ozempic for those a few months in - part 3
ticktock19 · 04/09/2023 17:32

Similar prices to everyone else

Ozempic for those a few months in - part 3
Littlesnail · 04/09/2023 17:32

Thanks @cordiality just grabbed myself another 1mg. I could wait to see if the price comes down in a couple of weeks, but I'd rather pay the extra £100 now and be sure of supplies - over the course of my whole weight loss journey (expense!), it's a small insurance premium to pay.

mathis2006 · 04/09/2023 18:15

Chemist 4 u is only offering me 0.25. Hopefully the will accept a higher dose if I show them that is what I am on now.

Prettybubblesintheair · 04/09/2023 18:44

does anywhere actually have it in stock yet?

mathis2006 · 04/09/2023 19:41

@Prettybubblesintheair chemist 4 u and boots do

Cherryonthetop2019 · 04/09/2023 20:19

I did my Ozempic in my arm last night for the first time having done my stomach for the last 18 months. I only did 0.75 as opposed to 1mg and I feel like I did much earlier on in my journey. I can’t believe what a difference it has made in how I feel! I didn’t think there was anything in those that wanted to change up where they didn’t the shot. I was wrong!

MiniCooperLover · 04/09/2023 20:51

I've emailed Juniper to cancel for now. I've got confirmed Gallstones and have had 3 attacks in the last month and though when I've told the NHS drs about it they've been fine, if feels stupid to continue something that could potentially be contributing. Equally I'm now really hungry and having to follow a far more restrictive diet (less than 3% per 100G), but I'm hoping the fear of an attack will keep me on the straight and narrow.

RunningAndSinging · 05/09/2023 07:15

Good luck @MiniCooperLover hope things settle down for you.

There are some prices on the Quickmeds website as follows:

0.25mg - £245.95
0.5 mg - £245.95
1 mg - £245.95
1.7mg - £325.95
2.4mg - £374.95

Quite a bit higher than the other prices released so far but I think they will be first come first served and still better value for 1 mg than Ozempic at the moment.

Prettybubblesintheair · 05/09/2023 07:50

Quick meds are still showing as out of stock. It looks like the only place in stock is chemist4u and they appear to be starting everyone at 0.25, I’ve messaged them asking.

That’s very frustrating as 0.25 won’t do a damn thing if you’re on 1.0.

Prettybubblesintheair · 05/09/2023 09:27

Exactly. And very expensive to start again.
