I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

totally blown today- too many jelly beans and wine!
Start again tomorrow!

ShortandSweet · 09/03/2008 15:13

I have just bought myself a bread maker. A loaf is in the process of cooking. I will let you know whats it's like. I read in another thread that a woman bought a bread maker and the weight soon started shifting. So I am hoping this happens to me

my dh has bought some cider vinegar today. someone at work told him it burns fat or someting like that. you have to have 1cap full to 3 caps of water and drink it
think i will wait and see if it works before having any myself!

ShortandSweet · 09/03/2008 18:19

Lizandlulu I have heard that too. Haven't tried it because I keep forgetting to buy it. Let me know how he gets on.

Well my bread came out perfect and is so yummy I have had 3 slices for dinner. I will not be buy shop bread again. I highly recommend a bread maker.

lizandlulu · 09/03/2008 18:26

do you have to buy all the ingredients, or special dough?
dont know why i am asking cause im not a bread lover! just interested

ShortandSweet · 09/03/2008 18:34

Bought the ingredients. Wish I was like you. I love bread

Woohoo I lost another 2 lbs this week! I didn't think I would have lost anything as I have had quite a few extras on top of my points allowance...

How are you all doing?

Shortandsweet, I don't get how getting a breadmaker would help you lose weight if you love bread? Surely having lots of yummy freshly baked bread would tempt you into eating far more of it than is reasonable? Or am I missing something?

ShortandSweet · 10/03/2008 14:20

I wouldn't eat more than any other bread, but maybe it helps because there is less crap in it. Who knows, I am willing to try anything once.

lizandlulu · 10/03/2008 15:24

well done mammya thats great.

i have just booked 4 days in ibiza with my mate who is a size 10, so it is a bit more of an incentive to stick with it. i would like to wear a bikini and not look like a whale. its not till june, i am hoping to loose 2 more stone by then. but would still be 14 stone. not sure how i would look

andyrobo237 · 10/03/2008 20:09

Hi guys - can I join in? I started at a class last weds - it is local to work so is at lunchtime but is only an express weigh-in class - so you have a quick 1 to 1 chat with leader, get weighed then pay! Not much for the weekly fee - so will need the support from here!

I have been doing SW since June last year and only lost 1st 4lbs - i dont think it suited me - I only stuck with it as the consultant was a mum from school - she doesnt do the class now, and i returned towork from Mat leave - tried another class but it didnt suit me - plus DS is now walking so sitting around in a room for a hour is not his idea of fun!

At least this way I can keep an eye on my weight - aiming to lose 4lb a month - need to lose another 2 stone realistically.

lizandlulu · 10/03/2008 20:27

hiya andyrobo237, i did slimming world too and lost about 2 stone which was fine, but found it really hard to eat out, or eat ready meals as everything came with rice/pototoes/chips. not good if you are having a green day!

i do think weight watchers is the way to go. sensible eating is what i need.

not what i want, but i want to be 12 stone

smartiejake · 11/03/2008 06:23

Well despite my jelly bean and wine fest at the weekend I have managed to get back on track and have lost..... (drumroll)

4lbs!!!!

Keep me going guys I'm on a roll!

Going on holiday in 3 weeks and not expecting to lose a huge amouint more but another 5 or 6 lbs would be nice so I can heft my sorry body round disneyland with a little more grace!

ShortandSweet · 11/03/2008 08:25

Well done smartie. Went you get a loss like that it really gives you a kick start.

Welcome andy, sounds like we have all been were you are. I started WW last Monday and so far have lost 4lb. Can't believe it's coming off so easily. I have found this week a lot easier than SW

lizandlulu · 11/03/2008 09:23

smartiejake, are you going to the disneyland in florida? i would love to go there but going to wait till my dd is a little older, she is only 2 and dont fancy the flight!

i get weighed tonight, fingers crossed everyone

andyrobo237 · 11/03/2008 11:13

I have signed up to the monthly pass so I can use the pc to track my points - I keep a note during the day and then put them in on the evening, and plan the next days food. I bought two melons today and have cut one of them up and put it in a tub in the fridge - there was 2 points in the whole thing, so I can keep nibbling at it all day - hopefully to keep me of the choc - I have a very sweet tooth - which is my problem as I can use half of my days points on two choc bars! I need to source low point bars so I can have a treat a day!

lizandlulu · 11/03/2008 11:51

i have said earlier, boots shapers choc bars are low in points. not as good as the real thing, but still nice.
the strawberry one has 1 and half points, and mints one. most of them i think are 1 and half.

DiscoDizzy · 11/03/2008 15:13

well done smartie. 4lb is great.

Can anyone help me? My mum and dad (who are both quite overweight) would like to have a go at WW but they haven't got the books.

Does anyone have any spare old books they no longer use, basically the shopping guide really. I'd obviously buy them plus P&P. TIA

ShortandSweet · 11/03/2008 15:49

Hi Disco I may have a shopping guide, I will let you know tomorrow.

smartiejake · 11/03/2008 17:57

Yes lizandlulu we are going to Florida. Only doing one week in the parks though then the second week on the gulf coast. I know what you mean about the long flight. We took our dds to Euro disney when they were little on the train and they loved it.(dd2 was only 22 months but lots to do)

DiscoDizzy · 11/03/2008 19:45

Thanks shortandsweet.

lizandlulu · 11/03/2008 21:12

been to get weighed and have lost 2 and half pounds. im well chuffed, i didnt think i had lost that much
now weigh 16 stone 2 and half. half a pound to go till i have lost a stone.
i have celebrated with 2 rice cakes with nutella on nice but not as nice as the galaxy caramel which is in the cupboard.

its going to stay there though

smartiejake, dont fanct taking a bit extra luggage do you? i would fit into a large suitcase

smartiejake · 11/03/2008 21:25

Not sure what my baggage allowance is- will find out and let you know!!

Well done for losing nearly a stone that is such an achievement!

Hard when there is chocolate singing to you from nearby!
I had some chocolate left from some prizes I bought for my pupils which kept grinning at me every time I opened my desk drawer today. Managed to resist though.

DiscoDizzy · 12/03/2008 07:25

Well done lizandlulu, I hope you're going to have a little celebration tomorrow. I think its important to have a day treating yourself (within reason). I had chips and pizza after my weigh in. It kept all cravings at bay for another week. Mind you i'm weighing myself in the morning so we'll see whether it did any harm I hope not.

suzywong · 12/03/2008 07:28

hello
how many points in a magnum lolly?

I am on the plateau stage and I really shouldn't be doing things like eating choc ices

TIA

ShortandSweet · 12/03/2008 08:26

Sorry suzy I have no idea but I wouldn't think it would be to far off 5 points.

Well done lizandlulu, I have my first weight in today so hopefully I will be pleased. Going to take the weight I was at SW 2 weeks ago and compare it to today and see how much I have lost.
