I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

i dont. i do go to the gym twice a week and aqua aerobics, but i think that if you do eat the extra points then its not worth all the effort. i would rather have a quicker weight loss, personally.

yesterday i had poached eggs on toast of breakfast. for 5 points.
fills me up like a proper meal

smartiejake · 04/03/2008 11:56

Yes I must get organised in the morning. Perhaps proteins like eggs will fill me up more.

lizandlulu · 04/03/2008 12:19

JUST HAD EGGS ON TOAST FOR DINNER TOO. sorry caps, had porridge for breakfast, eggs and toast for dinner with a bag of boots crisps and bannana.

lizandlulu · 04/03/2008 12:25

looks like i have a thing for eggs on toast!!

smartiejake · 04/03/2008 14:05

Is there not a recommended limit for eggs per week?

ShortandSweet · 04/03/2008 14:08

Shouldn't really have much more than 6 a week due to the cholesterol they hold

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 04/03/2008 14:44

god, yes i never thought of that!!

well i have had 4 and its only tuesday!

smartiejake · 04/03/2008 16:41

I had one of those baxter soups with some bread, skips and a yog for lunch.7 points in total.

Not hungry as such now but dangrous time for me now as I always get the munchies at 4.30. Stop me someone!

lizandlulu · 04/03/2008 16:49

if i was there i would hold you down and sit on you!! then you wouldnt be able to snack

by the way, baxters french onion soup is 2 points per whole can and beef consomme is 1 per can. the onion one is lovely. the beef one is jusy flavoured water but still tasty. i put a slice of bread in it and it does me

ShortandSweet · 04/03/2008 17:44

Oh god I have just eaten 3 slices of tiger bread. It was soooo yummy but I have no idea how many points that cost me.

OP posts:
smartiejake · 04/03/2008 18:13

No I had the minestrone. Very low in points too. Agree about the french onion one- yummy! Talking of soups there is a really nice chicken noodle one I found at waitrose. Only half a point- good for taking to work (it's a cup a soup)

Thanks for sitting on me lizandlulu. have had tea now so feel better. Not sure how I will feel at 9ish though (another munchie danger time zone!)

abigaillockhart · 04/03/2008 18:19

Omlettes are a great breakfast. I make mine with one whole egg and one egg white with lots of veg. (peppers mushrooms etc).

It's only 2.5 points so great for breakfast and lunch - then I blow the rest of my points on wine and chocolate

lizandlulu · 04/03/2008 21:50

shortandsweet, what the hell is tiger bread????

i have been to weight watchers tonight and lost another pound, thats 11 pounds in 5 weeks, which is ok. i was hoping for a bit more overall, but 1 pound is fine. i have also been to the gym and done my programme the gym set out for me.

whoever invented the crosstrainer wants shooting

abigaillockhart · 04/03/2008 23:11

11 pounds in 5 weeks is brilliant!! All the research says that if you lose more quickly than that it won't stay off.

I found it helpful to think pregnancy - one trimester equals a stone (and a half maybe). That's pretty good going.

I lost 2 stone 3 pounds last year but have maintained ever since - would love to lose one more stone but have lost all motivation.

Love food too much

lizandlulu · 05/03/2008 08:49

have you managed to keep the weight off but eating the same diet?
i mean you havent gone back to eating what you did?

ShortandSweet · 05/03/2008 09:07

Lizandlulu tiger bread is a batch type loaf that you get in the bakery area of the supermarket, its called tiger bread because it has tiger like markings on it. But I filled myself up on it and only had a bowl of cherrios for dinner last night.

Lizandlulu do you realise you have lost 22 packs of butter in only 5wks, thats fantastic. Think of each pound as 2 pack of butter and you soon realise how much fat is coming off you.

11 lbs in 5 weeks! Well done lizandlulu.

My friend who is a gymn instructor has always said that although a lb of fat and a lb of muscle wiegh the same- muscle takes up less room so even if you haven't lost much in one week your insides are still likely to be healthier and leaner.

Agree about the cross trainer- should have it as an exhibit in the torture chamber!

I like the butter analogy. I think of bags of sugar. 1 bag of sugar for every 2 pounds then imagine carrying a bag round all the time with however many bags of sugar in weight you have lost. 11lbs would be like carrying round 5 and a half bags of sugar.

lizandlulu · 05/03/2008 09:23

oh right, im not all that fond of bread on its own, and hate crusty bread.

wow 22 packs of butter sounds better than 11 pounds!!

i have had special k red berries for breakfast, well without the berries as my dd sits on my knee fishing the fruit out with her fingers she does like the strangest of things

smartiejake · 05/03/2008 09:28

I took advice someone gave me yesterday and had a couple of boiled eggs for breakfast. Feel fuller than I did yesterday but still craving something sweet.
How do you lot cope with sweet cravings?

ShortandSweet · 05/03/2008 09:35

Diet soft drinks. They taste sweet and take the craving away. I would probably drink 1 500ml bottle a day. But I also recommend lots of water.

ShortandSweet · 05/03/2008 09:36

Curly wurlys are only 2.5 points and WW do cheesy puffs (from the supermarket) for a point so you could have your naughty things if you wanted to.

OP posts:
abigaillockhart · 05/03/2008 09:46

Jaffa cakes are good as long as you don't eat the whole packet

How old is your child? I weighed my 18 month old the other day and she is 2 stone - OMG - I used to carry that around all the time. I carry her for ten minutes and I'm shattered!

I am now eating pretty much what I want, just slightly less and more careful about fat. When you've done WW for a while you get to know the real high points stuff - cheese, sausages, crisps, cake etc. I can manage sweet cravings with WW cake bars or a square of dark chocolate.

My downfall is wine (My friend told me that it only used to be one point . The wine is high points and then after two glasses my resolve weakens and the cheese looks too tempting ....

abigaillockhart · 05/03/2008 09:48

Just found a curly wurly in the cupboard - thanks S&S - now I think it's diet food

ShortandSweet · 05/03/2008 09:51

abigaillockhart - if its a mini one then its only 1pt. My DD is 22months and weighs 1st 10lbs but is very thin. Hopefully she doesn't get my fat genes

i have the boots shapers chocolate bars. the strawberry one is lovley and 1 and half points. there is also a mint one and one a bit like a mars bar only smaller, i think they are the same points.
thay also have a lemon and yoghurt bar, it sounds horrible but it is to die for. really zingy, creamy and tasty, but it is 2 points.
