I was doing slimming world until last night. I was doing it since June and haven't lost a single pound since Aug.

I think it's time for change. I am starting WW on Tuesday. Any body else up for joining me.

well i have been to the coffee shop and had a slab of chocolate fridge cake, but it was my dinner!
it is my only weekly treat and it is gourgeous (sp?)

smartiejake · 05/03/2008 20:35

Just had a really nice orange chicken dish with parsnip mash from one of the ww cookbooks. Only 5 points. Having my usual few glasses of red wine tonight but done 15 points worth of exercise in the last three days so don't feel too bad. Good news about curly wurlies. WIll get some in tomorrow. Good thing is that they take quite a while to eat as toffee chewy so less likely to eat more and more.

lizandlulu · 05/03/2008 20:41

ORANGE AND CHICKEN ARE A LOVELY CONBINATION, I WILL HAVE (sorry caps) to look that one up. i have had a crap tes. it was hot and spicy coated chicken with rice and stir fry. it needed eating up out of the freezer, but now wish i hadnt had it. it wasnt worth the amount of points. dont know how many points was in it mind you, but can imagine it was alot

smartiejake · 05/03/2008 21:00

Basically grilled chicken with a mix of low cal orange marmalade (2 teaspoons) and wholegrain mustard (1 teaspoon)on one side. The parsnip mash has a little low fat fromage frais mashed in. Really easy and very satisfying. Kids enjoyed it too (although no from frais in the mash. 5 points

DiscoDizzy · 05/03/2008 21:05

Well I joined this thread at the beginning and haven't had time to contribute. Not very sociable I know. Anyway have done well all week after having to play catch up cos on my 1st day I had planned to go to the indian and ended up eating 48 points so have done well considering. Anyway its my first home weigh day tomorrow so will check back then with the weight i've either gained or lost. May also have a couple of glasses of wine tomorrow to celebrate or commiserate (sp)

lizandlulu · 06/03/2008 09:47

discodizzy, dont worry, one meal out wont harm you too much

DiscoDizzy · 06/03/2008 11:33

Fantastic Discodizzy, well done.

I remember being told once that a good hearty ignore all the points meal is good for your metabolism once in a while. Doing this is supposed to kick start your weight loss again as it stops your body going into starvation mode where it hangs on to all the fat.

fairydust · 06/03/2008 17:10

i joined ww today have decided to follow the points rather than the core as i think it will fit in well with us all

I really struggle with evening meals before ww so i need to try and be organised in that respect

lizandlulu · 06/03/2008 19:10

i dont understand the core plan. i havent looked into it at all. i just count points. although, if i do loose 4 stone, i will probably be on 18 points a day and i dont know how i wil manage on that!

i am on 22 now and still sometimes dont think it is enough

DiscoDizzy · 06/03/2008 19:30

Well seeing as I weighed myself this morning i've had a lovely naughty food day. For lunch I had a chip butty, a cake this afternoon and pizza for tea with cheesecake to follow. I've counted the points and i've gone over my limit but its cured any cravings I had. Back to it tomorrow

lizandlulu · 06/03/2008 19:32

ahh cheesecake, i've not had that for ages

you are making me crave stuff now!

DiscoDizzy · 06/03/2008 19:44

tesco do this cheap little cheesecake in the yoghurt section. Lovely but about 5.5 points according to the little book, i've fancied it ever since I bought it on Tuesday but saved it till today. Was worth every point . Had a quick 10 minute run afterwards to work off a little point.

smartiejake · 06/03/2008 20:58

I have spent the whole day feeling starving and have already gone over my points. eggs and toast for breakfast and starving by 10.30. Banana and yog then starving again by 12. crackers, low fat cheese, slim a soup , yog and tomatoes for lunch and starving at 2.30. Tea at 6 (sweet and sour chicken) and another yog and now I'm starving again. Have had 21 points which is what I am allowed. Where am I going wrong- I will never last at this rate no way I will ever be able to survive on 18 points when I get down another 1.5 stone.

DiscoDizzy · 06/03/2008 21:20

smartie - I know this isn't right but I don't have breakfast, if I do I eat and eat and eat. I get over the hunger by drinking water constantly. If I got really hungry i'd either do something to keep me occupied or have a hot chocolate or a can of diet pepsi but I wouldn't have that til after 10.30. I generally have lunch between 12.30-1.00 and a yoghurt or crispbread or can of diet pepsi at around 3.30, then tea at 5.30-6.00 ish. I have found that if I drink alcohol in the evening I want to munch, if not i'll have cup of hot milk around 8.30 just to keep me going till bed.

mammya · 06/03/2008 22:21

Smartie, try filling yourself with vegetables, most vegetables are worth 0 points. For instance for lunch I have a massive salad with lettuce, carrots, peppers, spring onion, cucumbers, steamed cold brocoli and any other suitable vegetables, I add a yogurt and vinegar dressing, and some protein in the shape of pulses (chick peas or red kidney beans usually) or cottage cheese, a table spoon or so of seeds and lots of herbs. Then in the evening fill half your plate with steamed vegetables. Try it, it works for me! Although I have to confess I have been naughty today and had a go at the biscuit tin. My excuse is that it's my time of the month and, considering how much rubbish I would normally eat in the circumstances, I haven't been too bad!

lizandlulu · 06/03/2008 22:23

i am nearly always hungry too, but being on a diet i try to live with it, at least till i get used to eating less.
my ww leader says we should bulk our meals out with veg,m salad and eat loads of friut, which i do try to do, but with me working 3 days a week, it takes some planning to always have a variaty of fruit in the house.

i have just been in the gym for an hour, then aqua aerobics for 45 mins. my legs are killing me and i will sleep well tonight!

came back and had cup of milky coffee and 2 rice cakes with nutella on. better than a choc bar i suppose.

well i am at work tomorrow but will try to check in with how i am going on.
try to stay focused ladies

(who the bloody hell do i think i am!)

ShortandSweet · 07/03/2008 07:10

Smartie again I am repeating other people, salad veg are the way to go. Yesterday I had a bowl of cheerios + Milk, banana, satsuma, grapes, cherries, WW chicken noodle soup and large slice of home bread, ww fish pie with lots of veg and then 3 large snack a jack cheese rice crakers. Thats around 16 points.

Well done short and sweet. Its the best feeling. Its such an incentive to continue on. Woohoo

Smartie - I too agree with the others about the salad and veg. I've cut out potatoes and just eating loads of veg with my meal. Its very filling.

ShortandSweet · 07/03/2008 08:03

Can anyone tell me how many point an egg is

OP posts:
DiscoDizzy · 07/03/2008 09:37

lizandlulu · 07/03/2008 10:13
