Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

@Cookiedough123 20lb is amazing 👏

@TeddyBeans I've also struggled to find bars under £2 which seems a tad wild. But I also think they add the word protein to cearel bars and double the price.

@Boska23 wow that's a huge loss, well done getting into overweight category.

Cookiedough and I seem to measure daily. Although I'm away this weekend.
I seem to gain a wee bit over weekends but drop during the week. Thursday I was down to 12st 3.9!

Cookiedough123 · 24/09/2023 09:48

Morning! I was the same yesterday and this morning I’ve had a gain! Probably due to the fact we had pizza takeaway for tea! So I have gone up to 14st 2.8! Which is a gain of 1.6lbs in 24 hours. Although the pizza was worth it as I haven’t had one in over 6 weeks and they used to be part of tea at least once a week!! I’ll probably be back to my low by Tuesday or Wednesday!

@TeddyBeans what are these bars you are looking for? And well done a loss is still a loss!!

@Boska23 you are more than welcome to join! Well done on your fantastic loss so far! I bet you already feel much better 2.5 stone down!! Yes I measure every day! It keeps me on track and I find it really interesting seeing the scales fluctuate. I used to just log my lowest weight and then even if I had a gain I would wait till my next lowest to log it. Now I log nearly every weight I get. I won’t log todays I give it 24 hours so I know the water weight has passed and it’s a little more accurate. I have my morning wee and step on the scales! If I have been drinking the night before I usually don’t weigh the next morning but do the 24 hours after as I once gained 6lbs overnight!

Well done, everyone 😊

Monday weigh-in for me and back to 13st 12lbs 😊 so 2lbs down since last week and 1st 11lbs in total. Next mini goal is 2 stone, so 3lbs to go.

Have a great week x

OwlsDance · 25/09/2023 18:59

Total loss last week 1.7kg. Pretty sure most of it was just water, but still good to see the numbers go down.

I'm up 0.8 kg today, but I did eat loads yesterday, although I also did a 5 mile run. I expect it will all balance out over the week.

My first mini goal is to stay under 72 kg for the entire week.
Second mini goal is to get under 70kg
Third mini goal is to get under 32% body fat (currently 34.4%)

Boska23 · 26/09/2023 09:38

Thank you for the welcome everyone! Great to see everyone's progress and learn how you all do this. I didn't get to measure every day since I posted as I was travelling but my scale this morning showed 87.7kg (193.3lbs) so only 0.5lbs down since Friday. I think that's ok because I wasn't able to do OMAD over the weekend with travelling and everything, so I'm counting it as a (small) win. Will try to measure daily from now on.

Cookiedough123 · 26/09/2023 09:44

Sorry I’ve had a busy weekend! I shot up to 14st 2.6 I think Sunday. Was the same yesterday. This morning dropped to 14st 0.6. So I’m back on my low after a gain of 2lb I’m guessing water weight!

So close to seeing a 13! I thought I saw it this morning but it settled on the 14!

I will catch up with posts shortly!

Cookiedough123 · 26/09/2023 14:49

@Bumblebeebum23 well done on your 2lb loss last week! So close to 2 stone!! I’m about 7.8lbs away so also not ages away! Although I don’t feel like I’ve lost so much yet!! If I wasn’t weighing I would predict around 1st loss.

@OwlsDance 1.7kg - that’s great! Well done! What’s your total loss so far ? Nothing better than seeing the numbers coming down! Good luck with your mini goals!

@Boska23 my scales have technically although increased only gone down 0.2lbs since my last low on Friday! So any decrease is a win! How do you find OMAD I have only done it once and I was super busy. I was going to do it on Sunday but by lunchtime I couldn’t wait any longer and had a small snack to keep me going till tea! I manage 18:6 really easily by having lunch at 1pm and tea around 5pm.

Boska23 · 26/09/2023 16:13

@Cookiedough123 , I'm finding it surprisingly easy. I tend to get hungry around 3pm but that's also when I'm the busiest with work so that helps me make it to 7pm when I have dinner with my family. That's my only meal of the day. Warm water with a dash of fresh lemon juice also helps, as well as matcha or turmeric tea during the day.

The biggest change with OMAD was losing that pressure and guilt if I 'break' the diet. It's not like keto where I have to start almost from scratch and wait until I'm back in ketosis etc - if I eat outside of my window, no big deal - tomorrow is a new day and I start again like nothing happened. It helped me enormously to avoid overeating after a lapse and get back on track quickly.

It also helps that there is no such thing as forbidden food. Somehow, I find it easier to avoid sweets and carbs in general when I know I don't HAVE TO. Just knowing I can have pizza or McDonalds for dinner if I really want to helps me choose healthier stuff and only very occasionally cave into those cravings. I also still have deserts but I tend to replace ice-cream or chocolate with 1-2 medjool dates. Can't say it would work the same for anyone as I have tried so many diets that just never worked - but for me, this was a revelation and the first time in what feels like forever that I actually lost weight without starving and being miserable. The only thing I did drop completely is alcohol, but I was never much of a drinker so it wasn't a big sacrifice to make.

Bumblebeebum23 · 26/09/2023 17:30

Thank you @Cookiedough123 and well done for your amazing loss so far 😊 keeping everything crossed for a 13 number for you soon x

MyOtherNameToday · 26/09/2023 18:25

Marking place to catch up later!

TeddyBeans · 27/09/2023 07:56

It was these ones, they were 2 packs for £8 so a pound a bar which is much more reasonable than the slimfast ones etc. I think @Sugarfree23 is right though, they probably are just glorified cereal bars. Might have a look at those as replacements.

I haven't done well this week. Did a cheeky weigh in yesterday and was at 100.5kg. No idea how I've put so much back on, I don't feel like I've eaten extravagantly 😩 still, will see what we're at on Friday

Sugarfree23 · 27/09/2023 08:38

How are you all, back from a weekend away and piled on 5 lb what?
Dropped 1.1 between yesterday and today hoping the rest drops just as easy.

Boska23 · 27/09/2023 10:37

Hello everyone, had Chinese last night so expected slight gain today given salt and water retention but scale says 87.65 (193.2lbs) so a microscopic step forward instead. Will try to eat properly the rest of the week and see if I can make it more than 0.3lbs this week.

Cookiedough123 · 27/09/2023 21:42

Todays been one of them days! Same weight as yesterday this morning! This is the first evening in around a month I’ve not managed to get out for a walk 👎 the weather is awful here - Storm Agnes says no to 10000 steps today! So it’s made me feel a bit laggy and lethargic tonight! Hoping tomorrow I will get my walk! Also my partner is working away all week so trying to look after my 11 month old and also make myself meals is not working! Luckily the air frier keeps me going and I’ve been living off southern fried chicken goujon wraps and microwave meals. Not the healthiest but could be having worse! At one point I would go buy myself a domino’s and have a garlic bread with cheese, medium pizza and 4 cookies all to myself so there’s definitely improvement there! Hoping I see the number 13 tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞 night all! X

OwlsDance · 28/09/2023 09:55

@Cookiedough123 I've only started a week before, so that's total loss for me.

The gain I had at the start of the week has disappeared, and I'm further 0.5kg down this week. I wonder if I'll manage to dip under 71kg? 71.1 this morning!

Yes, the weather has been dreadful, and I've been relying on walk to school to get my steps in, but had to drive yesterday! It's a nicer day today, but hadam early meeting, so had to drive again... hopefully I can get out for a run this evening!

Boska23 · 28/09/2023 10:18

Good morning everyone! Down to 87.05kg today (191.9lbs) so total loss since Friday is 0.85kg or 1.9lbs. I think the drop is caused by the water retention after the Chinese we had Tuesday night but I’m very excited at the prospect of maybe hitting 85kg in the next 2 weeks, because that’s the first time I measured 105kg last year.

Cookiedough123 · 28/09/2023 10:19

So this morning I was 14st 0.8 so up 0.2 😂 I’m guessing that’s because period has come today! The joys of cramps lethargy and general CBA!! Going to still try and go for a walk later and meant to have the gym tonight! Sometimes I struggle with my hunger and fasting on these first few days but will try and distract myself at work!

@OwlsDance I bet you go under 71! Definitely by Monday! I’m still chasing my number 13! Well done on dropping 0.5!

Boska23 · 29/09/2023 08:38

I’m on a streak- it will change soon but will enjoy it for now. This week I end at 86.65kg (191lbs) so I’m down 1.25kg or 2.8 lbs. My next goal will be hitting 85kg!

TeddyBeans · 29/09/2023 11:09

I'm at 99.8kg today so I've actually lost almost 1kg this week, just sucks that I gained before I lost 😩 better luck next week hopefully

Cookiedough123 · 29/09/2023 11:15

So I weighed today and I’m still 14st 0.8!! I’ve been the same for a whole week now! Hopefully I have a whoosh over the weekend.

@Boska23 well done on your streak! That’s a great loss!

OP posts:
Boska23 · 29/09/2023 11:45

@Cookiedough123 , my weight was not moving for almost a whole month before I joined this thread! Fingers crossed your whoosh brightens up the weekend!

Hyppogriff · 29/09/2023 18:38

Hi everyone ! Sorry I’ve been absent for a bit - will catch up on all the messages !! So I started this journey 14 august at 12 st 1, now at pretty much bang on 11 st at (76.9 kg down to 69.9kg). Im chuffed and still have another stone to go until the NHS thinks I’m healthy !! My mini goal was to break the 70k barrier which happened this morning so happy about that! Next mini goal is to get to below 11 stone (next week if I keep trying!) and then to get to a total 10kg loss so down to 66.9 (by end oct hopefully!)
keep going everyone we can do this!!!
(definitely drinking red wine and eating steak and chips tonight but I did run 10 miles earlier !)
@OwlsDance sounds like we’re at a similar stage !!

Cookiedough123 · 30/09/2023 08:39

Hi everyone after a week of mostly being 14st 0.something I dropped today to 13st 13.4! Hopefully that’s me finally in the 13s with no jumps back up!

OP posts:
Cookiedough123 · 30/09/2023 09:47

@Hyppogriff well done that’s an excellent loss!! I think my next goal will be 28lbs loss so 2st down. I have 7.6lbs to go!

Total loss so far -21.4lbs so nearly half way to 50! Also added a little graph with my most recent weights!
