Lose 50lbs with me!

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

Got home tonight after work and managed a walk before it got dark! I’ve missed finishing work and being able to get out the house! Have managed to do an 18 hour fast (keep reminding myself to drop to 16 if I’m struggling!) but have still had a few snacks I’m talking chocolate 👀👀. Couple more weeks and we will be out of January which I definitely think is the worst month of the year! Weighed this morning at 13st 4.6 so a small 0.2 drop.

Thanks @Bumblebeebum23 sorry you’ve had a gain too. We still have to enjoy life so if you enjoyed the weekend it was worth it!

@LittleGlowingOblong its unbelievable how expensive it can be to eat healthy. The cost of fruit, chicken breasts, lean mince, some veg is so expensive! Glad your Bodyslim course is going well!

@Cookiedough123 Thank you, and well done for getting yourself back in track.

Unfortunately, my weekend binge was rooted in tiredness, stress and illness rather enjoyment (which is a hard habit to break).

Have had a better week food wise so far, but feeling rough and weather is awful, so I haven't done any walking.

Bring on the end of January! Can't lighter mornings and sunny days x

tryingcouchto5K · 25/01/2024 09:16

I've finally lost another 1lb! So chuffed. I've had to drag myself to the gym and been mindful of less snacking which has been really tough. For those struggling, it can sometimes help to look at how far you have come, rather than how far is left. Hope this week is better.

2 more lbs to reach my 3 stone loss.

Have a great week everyone

@tryingcouchto5K well done that’s amazing!

@Bumblebeebum23 brilliant work you’re doing fab!!

Im still ticking over at the minute I’ve hurt my back so I’ve been doing about 3 or 4000 steps a day!! Got physio next week so hoping it sorts me out so I can get back on track. Haven’t weighed for a few days as I don’t think i will be happy with what they show! On the plus I’ve noticed it’s only going dark at 5pm. Hoping I can take advantage of that soon with some after work walks

I fell off the wagon (calorie-wise) a few times this week… just got soooo hungry, so I flatlined.

walking about 9km a day though…

Cookiedough123 · 04/02/2024 19:54

So I have the physio tomorrow. I thought I had a slipped disc but I’m feeling much better a week later so it’s probably just a sprain. It’s still really sore but I have movement now. I could hardly walk last week, I was smashing the gym and doing really well, it’s so demotivating. I’m going to go back to solely running for a few weeks and then build back up to going to the gym and doing my classes.
I feel like January has sent me off the wagon. It’s the 5th Feb tomorrow and I’m enjoying seeing the sunshine again. I finish work and it’s light! I’ve set my fasting app on to give me a kick and I’m going to try and track my calories tomorrow. I will weigh tomorrow and update you all with my definite gains. At least I know I won’t have put the 33lbs back on!

@LittleGlowingOblong I know the feeling of falling off the wagon! Well done on your walking! I do love a good walk especially in the sun ☀️

I've had a terrible week this week, too, and back to some old habits.

As a result, I am 12st 12lbs this morning, so 1lb up this week. It's not great, but it could have been worse.

Had a word with myself over the weekend and was much more mindful, so I'm hoping to continue the momentum this week.

Have a great week, everyone

Bumblebeebum23 · 05/02/2024 07:53

Good luck with your physio @Cookiedough123 and well done on all your walking @LittleGlowingOblong.

We can do this 💪

LittleGlowingOblong · 06/02/2024 14:54

My scales fluctuate, and I’ve been very remiss on the food front, but I dinked down to 13’9 today. From a starting weight of 15’1.5. This unexpected drop has motivated me!

Bookworm1111 · 09/02/2024 11:03

Hello everyone! It's good to catch up on how everyone's doing. Sorry to hear you need physio @Cookiedough123, I hope it sorts out the pain. Well done everyone who's lost again, it's so inspiring!

I haven't been posting because I took a little timeout to take stock of why I was struggling so much to stick to my health eating plan and I realised that it was definitely down to the amount of alcohol I was drinking. My consumption has been niggling at me for a while and I've definitely become sober curious, so during my little timeout I read Annie Grace's This Naked Mind and haven't drunk since. I feel SO much better – sleeping better, my mood has improved, I feel happier and I even had a night out with my best friends in which I didn't drink that was so much fun I kicked myself for not quitting sooner! Best of all, I'm down 2lb! I've also started having apple cider vinegar to curb cravings (diluted in water and drunk through a straw to protect my teeth!) first thing in the morning and it seems to be working. So hopefully this reset will supercharge my weight loss now!

@Bookworm1111 sounds like you are making some really positive changes 😊 well done.

I've been much more on track this week, so hoping for a better result on Monday 🤞

Bumblebeebum23 · 12/02/2024 09:44

I have had a much better week this week and weighed in at 12st 10lbs 3/4 this morning. So, just over a lb. It's not a huge loss but going in the right direction.

Mini goal is still 12st 9lbs, which would be my 3st lost.

Half term now, so I'm hoping to stay on track despite meals out and catch ups with friends and family

Bumblebeebum23 · 19/02/2024 07:38

I have stayed the same this week, which I am pretty disappointed about because I've tried really hard to stay on plan over half term. Think I may need a bit of a shake-up of calorie intake now that I am lighter.

Back to work and normal routine today. Plus more walking with school drop offs etc so fingers crossed for a better loss next week 🤞

Loopylooni · 19/02/2024 22:18

Can I join again? Feeling extremely despondent at my weight. Upping my steps to 20k per day, reducing portions and avoiding bread. Hoping this does something. Am peri menopausal.

CW 15 stone 5lbs

Bumblebeebum23 · 20/02/2024 07:44

Hi @Loopylooni, the thread has gone a little quiet, but you are very welcome to join. I am still plugging on (albeit slowly at the moment). I started at a similar weight to you and still have another 3ish stone to lose.

Loopylooni · 20/02/2024 21:59

Thanks @Bumblebeebum23 , I've started to cut down so although today just had dinner and nothing else, I think ill probably have eggs during the day.

Previously I used to have a bread roll daily but have stopped. Also no snacks, 13k steps a day. I'm really praying I don't have to do the meal replacement route.....

medianewbie · 21/02/2024 00:44

Hello. Can I join please?

Bumblebeebum23 · 21/02/2024 07:36

Sounds good @Loopylooni. I wouldn't be able to do the meal replacement thing either. I've loosely been following 16:8 (still have cups of tea) and it has worked well because I haven't felt too restricted.

Welcome @medianewbie 👋😊

Bumblebeebum23 · 21/02/2024 07:38

I was 12st 9.5lbs this morning. 1/2lb off my 3 stone loss so fingers crossed for my Monday weigh in 🤞

medianewbie · 21/02/2024 09:42

Thank you.

Starting weight: 20st.
Current weight: 16.2
Goal weight: 10st.

My difficulties are: I'm disabled so exercise is a challenge. I'm also now a lone parent of two disabled teens & so my life is challenging in general. Poor sleep, erratic mealtimes (for me) & much stress has meant I've slowly gained (& am more slowly losing) a LOT of llbs
I struggle with snacks in the evenings (crisps, nuts, but mostly chocolate!).
My plan is to go low carb, 16:8, zero choc. No drink (24/7 Carer) - helpfully.

I will try to check in as often as I can & get to know you but it might be erratic as my life is unpredictable at times.

Bumblebeebum23 · 21/02/2024 12:54

Wow, great loss so far @medianewbie 💪☺️

Bumblebeebum23 · 26/02/2024 07:38

Monday weigh in: 12st 9lbs....so 2lb down since last Monday ☺️ I actually saw 12st 7 & 3/4lbs on the scales on Saturday morning but had a very indulgent weekend for my friend's birthday so happy with maintaining my 3 stone loss at 12st 9lbs 😊

Back on track as of yesterday and hoping for another good week.

SW: 15st 9lbs
CW: 12st 9lbs
TW: 10st

Have a great week, all xxxx

Thanks @Bumblebeebum23 , and well done on everyone's progress!

Ive lost 4lbs this week just gone. Im following the Fast Like a Girl method so essentially im not eating now till dinner, and then i try and avoid carbs. Its not been as difficult as i thought, and im drinking a lot of water and walking about 15K steps a day. Im feeling a lot better but a really long way to go.
