Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

Well done @Loopylooni, great loss 😊 I've never heard of that method but sounds like it is working x

Loopylooni · 28/02/2024 13:53

@Bumblebeebum23 its completely not for everyone but essentially i dont eat till dinner and then id just try and reduce portions/go lower carb. A friend has been trying it and it seems to be working for her in just 2 weeks. I checked today and im 96.1 so that's 1.8kg lost in in 1.5 weeks. At my highest, i was 99kg. It's such a long way to go but i do feel better and more energised/less bloating. However i dont seem to be regularly going to the loo, perhaps because i dont have much in me!

Previously : crusty roll, 2 scrambled eggs, avocado for lunch, then main dinner.

Now : less rice, more meat. No tea/lunch at all, just water. No snacks throughout the day either.

I just find if i even give myself an inch, it makes me indulge with everything else. The aim is to get to 85kg which was when i looked/felt my best 3 years ago.

Bumblebeebum23 · 05/03/2024 07:48

Ahh back up to 12st 10lbs 😭 having a major plateau this year and feeling frustrated! Fingers crossed for a better week this week 🙏

Loopylooni · 05/03/2024 13:42

Hey everyone,

SW : 99.8kg
CW : 94.7kg
GW : 85kg

So I've been doing hard-core fasting for 2 weeks (just one meal a day) and have lost 3kg. It's not for everyone but this combined with some long walks have moved the scales. So much to do ie almost 10kg to go but my figure is looking much more shapely now.

Cookiedough123 · 11/03/2024 13:16

Hi everyone I am sorry for the radio silence but I definitely fell off the wagon slightly. I would say I’ve been off the wagon since Christmas with the odd ok day…

Can’t believe it but I’m back upto 13st 10!!!! Arghh! That’s nearly a 10lb gain in 3 months!! Im hoping I will end up losing a few lbs of water weight over the next few days!

Been given a kick up the bum as we are planning on booking a holiday and I want to wear all my lovely holiday clothes and feel comfortable. It’s also crazy how these 10lbs have made me feel. My face looks bigger and my belly too! I have managed to keep exercising although not consistently it’s just my diet needs to change. Back to fasting and calorie counting for me! So far I’ve done a 16 hour fast and ate 500 of my 1500 calories today. I have a run pencilled in for tonight and if I can fit it in then maybe a small pram walk too!

Hi @Cookiedough123 I've been off the wagon too. 12st 9 not gaining so much just not losing. I'd hoped to be much less for our ski trip in a couple of weeks. I'm scared to try on my jacket.

Last year I was relying on the 'comfort' stretch- not a good look

We can get back on the wagon together.

Cookiedough123 · 11/03/2024 14:51

Yes definitely!! We can do this! I have some biscuits in my office upstairs and have quite happily not had any! I had an old Fitbit and I’ve replaced it with a garmin which is giving me some fresh motivation to get my steps in! How long have you got till your holiday?

Bumblebeebum23 · 11/03/2024 16:04

Welcome back @Cookiedough123 and @Sugarfree23.

I have been off and on since Christmas, too, and this last week has been awful!

I had an absolutely shit week in all parts of my life. I won't go into it all, but let's just say it culminated in walking in the rain in floods of tears on Mother's Day yesterday!

As a result, I have spent Thursday-Sunday in "Fuck it" mode and fallen into the trap of comfort eating crisps, cake, bread, bowls of cereal etc.....

Anyway, I woke up this morning with the intention of avoiding the scales and avoiding posting but something told me I need to break the pattern so here I am. I am back up to 12st 12lb so +3.5lbs from my lowest. I really am serious about getting healthy, but as we have said before, it's not always as easy as calories in/calories out.

Fresh start all round and well done for getting back on the wagon ☺️ we've got this 💪🩷

Cookiedough123 · 11/03/2024 22:13

I’m really sorry you didn’t have a good day yesterday. Sometimes I think the pressure of having a ‘mother’s day’ can put a lot of pressure on people and when it doesn’t go to plan it can make you feel rubbish.I’m glad you’ve woken up today feeling better. I hope it carries on for you! Only putting on 3.5lbs is not too much to get rid of! I’ve found my diet and lack of consistent exercise has made me feel a bit down and easily irritable. Just having one good day today has picked me back up again. Hope you feel better too! Keep checking in xox

Thank you @Cookiedough123 and 100% agree, I've said that next year I'm checking into a hotel on my own! 🤣 glad you've had a good day, I have too. Long may it continue x

Cookiedough123 · 12/03/2024 17:01

Hi this mornings update I was 13st 9.2. So it’s heading in the right direction. I have felt so hungry all day now I’m back to fasting/calorie cutting. Trying to keep telling myself it will get easier once I get a week or two out the way. Also thinking about all my lovely summer dresses I will fit into if I continue doing what I’m doing! Just out on a walk getting my steps in. Hope everyone’s had a good day!

Bumblebeebum23 · 12/03/2024 17:14

Well done @Cookiedough123 ☺️

I've stayed on track too and was down 1lb this morning.

Summer feels like a long way off with all this bloody awful weather, but it will be so worth it when it does come 🌞

2024istheyearforme · 12/03/2024 18:35

Im with you guys :)
SW 14.1 stone
CW 13.10 Stone
GW 10 stone.

Cookiedough123 · 13/03/2024 10:01

Morning I was 13st 9.2 this morning, so no change from yesterday. Holding strong with my fasting and calorie counting so far!

OP posts:
LittleGlowingOblong · 13/03/2024 11:02

13st 10lb today.
Up on last week. :(
If I’m really strict I still lose weight, but I’m struck by how little it takes to breach your calorie threshold for the weight to go straight back on.
But I did some emotional eating…
… persevere!

Bumblebeebum23 · 14/03/2024 07:54

Well done for the perseverance@LittleGlowingOblong

I can definitely relate to the frustration of it all!

Cookiedough123 · 14/03/2024 08:45

Hi! I was 13st 8.6 this morning so a loss of .6lbs which is heading the right direction. Feel a bit gutted I let myself put on nearly 10lbs as I would probably be well past my goal of 12st by now! I’m also wondering how do you stop yourself falling off the wagon? I managed to do from July - Nov last year and then it hit Christmas time and boom that was it. I’m a sucker for sweet treats. Looking forward to the clocks going back soon and the weather picking up as it definitely spurs me on more. Managed a little walk after work with the dog last night and I have the gym tonight.

I know what you mean @LittleGlowingOblong it’s very frustrating.. I have found the more active I am the less the treats and meals out matter. But it’s very annoying when it requires so much discipline.

Bumblebeebum23 · 15/03/2024 07:49

Well done, @Cookiedough123

I am back to 12st 9lbs this morning, so hopefully, I can keep it off over the weekend.

I wish I had an answer for you in terms of falling off the wagon. I am exactly the same....can keep it up for a length of time and then completely sabotage myself! I am so aware of the pattern, and yet I find it so hard to break. My only saving grace this time round has been that I have managed to get back on track after a shorter period of time. So rather than thinking "fuck it I've ruined it" and then gaining 5 stone, I have been able to gain a fews pounds back and then have a word with myself.

As I've said before, for me, it is so much harder than calories in, calories out. Food is linked to comfort, enjoyment, socialising etc etc and it is probably going to be a lifetime battle for me.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Be kind to yourselves xxx

Cookiedough123 · 15/03/2024 13:50

Hi I weighed this morning at 13st 8.2 so another loss of -4. Still going in the right direction! Happy with myself I’ve got to Friday and done 5 days good on the trot!

@Bumblebeebum23 yes i am the same I haven’t fell off the wagon for as long which we should see as a positive! Sometimes I can put on a stone and a half and go oops need to get back on it. I’ve found as soon as I take an inch I take a mile so I’m going to try and be much stricter. It starts with allowing a Freddo and then suddenly 2 then 4!! I’m a nightmare with chocolate. Hope you manage this weekend 🤞🤞

Cookiedough123 · 16/03/2024 08:11

Hello another small loss this morning 13st 7.8 so another -0.4. Lowest I’ve recorded was 13st 0.6 on the 11th Jan so 7.2lbs to go! And 1st 7.8 to my 12st goal!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Cookiedough123 · 19/03/2024 08:14

Morning! A lovely morning that is from where I live! Another .2 loss down to 13st 7! Doesn’t it give you a boost in the morning when the scales go down. Even if it’s only slightly 😂
We are looking at going on holiday in summer and usually I start dieting in like may or June and leave it too late. This time I’m already being good so hoping I’m way beyond my goal 🤞🤞

27.8lbs/50lbs
